I rushed forward in a fit of panic, attempting to yank Soren away from Vasilis. But, I ran smack dab into an invisible wall that seemed to be cocooned around them, and was bounced away painfully.
"Vasilis!" I yelled as I got back on my feet, but he didn't seem to hear me. His face remained ashen, his eyes flared wide open while Soren attempted to rip his heart out.
He couldn't hear or see me. This was a memory after all, and I was only a phantom presence.
Was it Soren doing all this? How could she do this? This was witch bollocks. Did becoming a Vryks grant her even more power than I had thought? Was this even possible?!
"He cannot hear nor see you Romanus," Soren's voice echoed in my ears again. Yet, the sight in front of me remained unchanging, as though it were designed to play on an endless loop. The version of Soren in the memory seemed to be saying something to Vasilis, but I couldn't hear it.
