'Ouch, my past life still affected this a bit, or perhaps my existential memories,' Arankar thought with a wry smile. In his fighting days, he used to use many Seal and Fire combination spells and techniques; they were his destructive means.
He guessed that that's why he awakened Seal and Fire affinities.
The problem was that an affinity like Seal was rare among humans because the human race foundation had yet to reach the level where they could readily awaken Ethereal-type affinities from a young age.
There were already cases of people having Ethereal-type affinities in other races and even top legendaries and higher-rank human hunters, but this was a super rare occurrence as one awakened on a kid!
An uproar ensued, although not as much as on Erina's turn.
"Seal? What's that? I've never heard of such an affinity."
"Strange, a Seal affinity? What does it do? Sealing things?"
"But his stats are pretty good."
Almost everyone didn't know about this type of affinity, and many were already impressed by Arankar having all C's in his stats.
However, scouts from guilds and organizations were more interested in his affinity.
'An Etherel-type affinity!'
'We must at least get him and those other two with advanced affinities and talents since Miss Erina seems like an impossible catch….'
'Seal…'
Profession Leon looked at Arankar's affinity with a flicker of surprise. He turned his head to the scouts and narrowed his eyes. 'Good, it seems that these low-ruffles don't know about Sealing Magic of Archon Kingdom.'
Leon turned back to Arankar and smiled, "Congratulations, you can return now."
"Thank you."
Arankar smiled with a nod before turning around and leaving.
'Arankar... Nice surprise. Wasn't expecting that I would find the thing Daha was looking for here,' Leon thought as he looked at Arankar's back shortly before speaking the next name.
…
The ceremony was over, but the real deal for kids started. Most were average kids, and Arankar wanted to mesh with them and leave early. However, that was no longer possible as a few scouts approached him and Agatha before speaking about the benefits of joining their Guild or organization.
"He won't be joining any of your guild or anything; please leave," Agatha said sternly at those two men and one woman who stood before them.
"Um, did you already decide for him?" the woman asked with a slightly awkward smile.
"No. He decided for himself," Agatha snorted before she grabbed Arankar's hand and left after putting a barrier around him.
Seeing them leave, the scouts sighed.
"Fat luck. They have already decided to join somewhere.
*Scoff~*
"I've never heard of this Arankar's name or his mother. People would want scouts to come for them, but she didn't even listen to us fully."
…
Agatha and Arankar returned home.
They sat in the living room as they discussed Arankar's choice.
"Alright, I leave it to you," Agatha said with a smile full of mirth. She had temporarily abandoned her previous goal of avenging the SlayerBreak Guild's foundation members to raise Arankar. But she enjoyed her life and the peace that followed it.
But now, she wanted Arankar to fulfill this wish for her.
"I want to see you in glory, at your pace, so that you can enjoy and experience your life," Agatha grinned. "And your first goal in this carnival of life is to finish my wish, my revenge."
"I can bring him to you now, but it won't be fun. But now that we are at this topic, can you tell me about this in detail?" Arankar asked, curious about Agatha's past and her revenge story.
"Sigh, you can say this was becoming common when the First Bridge portal connected," Agatha sighed as she remembered that fateful day.
"It was the era of greed and wild human emotions. I was in college at that time and was also a bit scared due to the many changes. But my parents and brother were enthusiastic about it and went on a few dungeon trips and monster hunting since my brother was strong and intelligent. He was a rising hunter along people that are now very famous."
Agatha turned melancholy as she smiled, remembering those hopeful days. "We thought our life was finally getting better because of my brother. I focused on the changing civil world while they focused on building the foundation of our future, but... misfortunes struck us. No, it was evil of others."
Agatha clenched her fists and started relaying the story.
Because of her brother, the second year of world connection started going well for Agatha and her family. Her brother was one of the rising hunters on the same level as Daha and his party at that time, and their family was getting better because of it since the world at that time had laws reduced to ashes and was chaotic.
The government still had deterrents due to weapons for a long enough time until the world leaders structured it into a single government body, Earth Union, and slowly brought laws.
Still, strong and those who stayed in unity survived and rose, while others remained weak, slaves to the old world due to fear, or just went along the flow.
But as in with all ages at any time, seven sins were everywhere, always stronger than virtues.
On that day, Daha Blaze and his party murdered Agatha's brother and parents for a rare loot that her brother got that day. But the sin that played the part here was not-just-greed.
They first threatened Agatha's brother by using their parents and demanded the rare loot item. And her brother even handed over the item.
But the evil was them killing her brother and parents even after that, just to hide the fact that they got such an item. That item was an epic-grade item of level 100, common for above-average humans nowadays. Still, it was of paramount importance in the early days when top hunters were thirsty to get strong and get ahead of others in the newly shaping age.
Agatha saw them with her own eyes as they left her house. She went in, saw everyone killed, and went into despair. She had already realized how and why they died that day, but it took her some time to get on her feet. But Daha and his party had risen too far by that time.
Fortunately, she took a slow and steady flow to take her revenge, and it brought her surprise in the form of Arankar.
"Leave it to me," Arankar said as he grinned and grabbed Agatha's hand. "I'll present them in front of you as your wish, and then you can do anything with them."
Agatha looked at Arankar and felt warmth. She was thankful for her present life, and it was all because of Arankar.
'Thank you for choosing me.'
