Chapter 7 - Delicious

Agatha took Arankar back to the town he had previously visited since her house was located there.

Her neighbors were surprised to see him bring a man, but she just smiled at them and didn't explain.

"Hello, I am Arankar," Arankr said, nodding at Agatha's neighbors, who were an old couple living peacefully.

"My, what a lad, haha."

Granny said with a chuckle, while Grandpa also laughed. "He looks no less than me when I was young, right, dear?"

"Oh, come on!" Granny rolled her eyes.

"Did you two eat yet? If not, I'll make lunch," Agatha said.

"We already ate, dear. You can go ahead," Granny said with a kind smile.

"So you live here? It's a small place," Arankar said as he looked at her two-bedroom house with a living room and kitchen.

"Small, but enough for one person," Agatha said with a smile. "I'll change clothes first, so wait here."

Arankar nodded and sat down on the sofa. In front of him was a TV, but he didn't recognize it.

He could gather its knowledge but refrained and just sat as he changed his look, reverting to wearing his majestic long loincloth and bare chest with a belt of scarf wrapped around his chest.

Agatha came out wearing a t-shirt and shorts, but she was startled by Arankar's appearance.

Arankar turned to her and smiled as he leaned to a side, "I also changed myself into a comfortable outfit. This is what I usually wear."

"Yeah, but that's not normal here. Change into a t-shirt and shorts. Wait, let me order your clothes since they will be delivered by night," Agatha said as she sat beside Arankar and took out her mobile phone.

After searching for a bit, she showed him a long gray t-shirt and black shorts. "You will look good in this, hah! I'll order a few more sets of different styles and colors."

Arankar saw the outfit and nodded. A second later, he changed his outfit into those same clothes, but of his size.

"Whaa…. How did you do this?"

"I can make such simple fabrics using a bit of energy. It's nothing special."

Agatha stared at Arankar briefly before standing up, "Alright, I'll make dinner."

Arankar also followed her and curiously looked at the whole food-making process without making any sound, only listening to Agatha explaining to him about the cooking and food.

After the dishes were ready and she served them on plates, Arankar finally spoke with a heavy nod, "So you humans do this much to eat? I am really missing out a lot."

"Tsk, then I bet you haven't even eaten something you call delicious."

"Delicious, I understand the meaning now, but I have yet to utter such a word after eating something," Arankar nodded.

"Haha, come. Let's eat."

Both sat on the small dining table and started eating.

Arankar followed Agatha's movement, and after taking the first piece of seasoned, wrapped meatballs, Arankar's eyes instantly shone!

He never needed to eat in his world like this. If he was hungry, he would readily devour a powerful beast.

But this…

"Delicious… Indeed, this word is suitable," Arankar said, quickly popping another meatball in his mouth.

"Try this steak as well. It's perfectly seasoned with spices, and the meat is one of the best I can get," Agatha said while grinning. Who doesn't love praise for their cooking?

She served the steak on Arankar's plate and said, "Come on, try it. Put the whole thing in your mouth."

Arankar pierced the steak with a fork and put it in his mouth.

The meat started melting with just a little pressure as an overflowing delicious flavor oozed out.

"Marvelous!"

Agatha happily chuckled and said, "But this is not even the most delicious food. There are many more delicacies."

"Good. I shall enjoy them later after my rebirth," Arankar said with a nod.

"Rebirth? What do you mean?" Agatha asked in surprise.

"It's my proposal to you. I want you to do childbirth with me so that I can be reborn as a fundamental human," Arankar said. "I already told you."

"Haha, you are so silly, but I get it," Agatha said, resting her chin on her hands as she watched Arankar eat.

She misunderstood Arankar by not taking him literally, though she was also not at fault for thinking that Arankar wanted to have a child and a wife to grow his family.

Arankar only imitated human structure using his reality-affecting power. He was not truly made of flesh and blood. The laws of human physique and soul were missing in him, which was why he must rebirth.

"Why did you stop eating?" Arankar asked in doubt.

"Hehe, nothing. Come on, let's eat."

After both finished eating, Agatha took Rei out again.

"Let's sell that big bear and earn some big bucks," Agatha grinned.

"Big bucks?"

"Money. Without money, you can't live," Agatha said with a wry smile. "To eat, to live, to survive, you need money."

"I see. Then I would also need money since I am going to live as a human," Arankar said, nodding in understanding. "How does it look?"

"Fantasy Coins. They are coins unearthed from various mines in fantasy worlds. Earth also produced those mines after the first bridge portals," Agatha said as she took out a thumb-sized round coin. "And these mines periodically appear in dungeons after someone kills the boss."

The coin's surface was made of thick black crystal, and on it was a number in golden, 100.

"This is a coin of 100 FC. Some bigwigs from other worlds regulated this currency here. There is up to a single coin worth 10,000 FC, and you can store it in stacks in your storage box."

"I see."

"The lunch we just ate roughly cost us 500 FC. Anyway, you will know its value gradually."

Soon, they arrived at a nearby market of adventurers and hunters, causing a wave of shock to pass through Arankar.

"What are these other people?" Arankar asked. He was almost going to unseal his powers to acquire knowledge but held himself back.

"You mean these races? Those with long pointy ears and delicate fair skins are elves. There are also dark elves with dark brown or dark gold skin tones, but I don't see them much here."

"What about those short ones?" Arankar said, pointing at a dwarf.

Agatha quickly lowered Arankar's hand and rolled her eyes. "Don't point your hand at others."

"Understood."

"You are cute, haha. Anyway, the short ones are dwarves. They are fantastic smiths because of their racial talents."

Agatha gave general knowledge of present races to Arankar while moving towards the area where people sell their hunts.

"Hey, Clara! I got a big loot today. Come here."

Agatha called out a girl in her teens who handled the big store with her father.

The store had a specially reserved ground for big beasts.

"Agatha-sis! I heard you went to Everest Hub and even went out in a party. Tell me, did you encounter something strange there?"

A lively girl with blond twin tails arrived, quickly asking a question with curiosity.

"What do you mean?"

"Eh? Didn't you see the news or anything? A new bridge portal opened today! 4th one! Many Legendary and Epic hunters already went inside to explore it."

"And who is this big brother? So handsome," Clara said, her eyes glittering as she looked at Arankar.

"Hi, I am Arankar, Nice to meet you," Arankar said with a smile and stretched his hand.

"Hi," Clara said with a cute smile and shook hands before turning to Agatha with a sneaky smile. "Hehe, did you finally get a boyfriend?"

"Ahem, you can say that. Anyway, we have a big loot this time. It's a level 243 Chilling Berserk Bear."

"Woah! How? Did this big brother help you?"

"Yeah. Now let's go and let your father inspect. It will surely fetch the best price."

Arankar didn't ask questions to sate his curiosity because Agatha told him she would answer everything after returning.

She did that because Arankar's questions were silly, and people would think of him as mental if they heard his random stange questions.
