Daniel went in with his dual tiger pistols, but the slime transformed into a slime warrior again. It was agile and slim with a small shield and a set of daggers it could throw!
Daniel shot it with mana bullets from his pistols, but the slime warrior nimbly dodged one, blocked another with its shield, and started moving at a breakneck speed to close the distance while throwing two daggers one by one at Daniel.
Daniel was also preparing to shoot two more, and he barely dodged the daggers before shooting two more mana-condensed bullets.
Ekin scoffed. 'This guy sucks.'
Arankar was also speechless. 'He doesn't have his moving basics learned to bring out his agility to full potential. Just what did he train in basic classes?'
Arankar thought Daniel must be a good combatant with potential since he was here, but he didn't expect Daniel would receive his disdain instead. 'Why speak like that if you are weak?'
Shaking his head, Arankar watched the battle to observe the slime monster that earned his curiosity.
Daniel was in a pinch as he was forced to use his movement skill.
'Damn it; I'll have to use Feather Fleet.'
His feet and body became light as a feather, and with a slight push, he jumped five meters high while positioning himself head down and aimed his guns at the slime warrior who failed to slash him.
As he shot twice, he flew up a bit because of Fleet Feet's effect, increasing his air-born time.
*Clank*
'Tsk.'
The slime monster blocked one mana bullet while narrowly dodging another since it was slim and agile.
Before the duration of Fleet Feet vanished, Daniel did one last push and barely landed three meters away from the monster.
After a bit more scuffle, Daniel shot a bullet into the slime monster's head while injuring his other arm.
"54 seconds," Jing said before waving her hand and using a normal healing skill with low mana potency to heal Daniel's arm.
Daniel came out of the battle ring somberly and frustrated as he stood silently.
Afterward, Luna entered the battle ring and immediately used her summoning skill, Brair Crystal Spirit.
'Ouch, it absorbed 70% of my mana at minimum activation….'
Luna woefully smiled as a magic circle appeared above her, from which a basketball-sized crystal rose with pinkish-red sparks came out.
By now, everyone knew that the slime monster would be passive until someone attacked it; only after attacking or using a skill would it transform, was what they thought.
Luna used her skill, Magic Pebble, as some mana whirled in front of her before turning into a glowing blue stone of condensed mana.
But that was not the end, as Luna added a water attribute to the Magic Pebble to empower it since she had water affinity and crystal affinity.
The water-attributed Magic Pebble shot like a bullet and hit the volatile slime before it started transforming.
The slime monster transformed into a two meters tall dark silver sand golem and immediately started its offense.
'Dark silver sand? If it's sandy and can reattach, the crystal briar spirit's self-destruct spike burst wouldn't damage it.'
'What is its weakness?'
Luna had no time to think leisurely anymore as she started moving speedily and attacked the Golem with a few Magic Pebble casts.
Ultimately, she took 27 seconds to find the weakness of the Golem, its core, which only appeared when Crystal Brair Spirit exploded and unleashed a burst of fist-sized red crystal spikes.
Luna took that chance and destroyed its core with a Magic Pebble.
"28 seconds. Erina, get ready."
While Erina entered the battle ring, Arankar noted a few key points of that slime monster. 'That slime monster is high-grade, although we can't inspect its status because of its high level.'
He glanced at Jing and guessed that she was controlling the power of this slime monster and that this monster could study its opponent's skills as long as it was a lower-graded skill than itself's grade and transform accordingly.
'It's going to be fun.'
Arankar was looking forward to his turn as he planned to battle the slime monster to enjoy it in his way.
Meanwhile, Erina calmly thumped her staff on the ground before a five-pointed golden star with magical motes manifested in front of her.
She used the skill that she learned yesterday, the Holy-affinity skill, Golden Star.
That golden star shot forward and hit the slime, initiating its transformation as the slime turned into a mage with a staff and released a dark silver orb toward her.
Erina used the Air-Dash skill that shot her up in the air and used it again to dodge an attack from the mage slime as she quickly closed the distance between her and the slime mage before landing right behind her and sweeping her staff horizontally.
'Empowered Strike.'
Her staff shone golden before it hit the slime mage squarely on its head, squashing it back into a puddle.
"8 seconds," Jing said before turning to Arankar. "Go."
Arankar jumped inside, and since Erina was still there, he smiled at her and said, "Nice move."
Erina raised her eyebrows but then simply nodded and jumped out of the battle ring.
"That was simply wonderful, Miss Erina," Daniel said with a fawning smile.
'Geh… Stop it already,' Erina thought as she internally rolled her eyes but simply nodded outwardly as she stood beside Luna and looked at Arankar.
Arankar had taken out his Katana; this time, he carefully looked at it with an admiring gaze. 'The weapon of Samurais, and those expert samurai wield it with such mastery despite this weapon being harder to master than normal swords.'
Katana. A long, slightly curved sword with one side edge. Its blade was heavy and powerful but edgy enough to cut through anything, depending on the material and mastery.
The way to swing and strike with this weapon differed from standard swords because of many differences, mainly the slight curve and the length and width of the blade.
The way to wield it and use its techniques also differed from standard sword fighting as Katana brings more poise or more blood depending on the wielder, but more often than all, those master samurais have an equal amount of both poise and blood in their style.
Arankar unsheathed his katana and put the sheath into his storage box before unhurriedly touching its edge and caressing through it.
A faint spark of flame appeared before it increased and started spreading on the katana.
Seeing him doing this in an admiring way and with such delicate control surprised Jing. 'Such a fine control...'
The atmosphere changed. A faint phenomenon was birthing, and only Jing could sense it due to her power. 'It's being held back… I see.'
Jing's eyes turned curious. 'This phenomenon will descend the moment he comes out of my Death Rust Field.'
"Is he an idiot? Look at that amount of mana. He spent all of it by using Epic skill that just enchanted his weapon," Daniel said with a speechless expression.
Others were also confused about that, including Jing, but she was more curious about the phenomenon of getting attracted by Arankar.
The slime monster was still in its volatile moving state because Arankar hadn't attacked it.
Arankar calmly walked towards the slime with a faint smile bearing hidden anticipation. His Sanguin Katana was coated with fire, burning gracefully on the blade.
After Arankar stood before the dark silver slime, he lightly slashed it to initiate its transformation.
A second later, the slime transformed into a warrior with long limbs and an agile physique with a spear and wearing light-weight body armor.
Arankar had stayed in his place with a two-handed katana holding stance, waiting for slime's attack.
The slime warrior was just a leg's length away from Arankar, so it directly pierced the spear at Arankar while moving back a bit to escape Arankar's Katana's range.
The slime's attack was fast and precise! But Arankar calmly and slightly bent his hand and clashed against the incoming strike but only put little strength as he led the spear to his side, stretching the slime warrior's arm furthest possible by using its own momentum before...
...He moved a medium step forward, reaching his striking range to hit the slime.
Simultaneously, Arankar's hands were already moving after he parried the spear attack. He turned his wrist to make the katana's edge face the direction of his slash, which perfectly slashed his foe's neck.
*Slash!*
The slime warrior's head rolled down as it turned into a dark silver puddle of slime.
