Chapter 1 - CHAPTER ONE

MORGAN POV

"Morgan, baby fix your face."

"Devyn aren't you a little bit pissed off?"

"It's only a fucking salad get over it." I scoffed rolling my eyes.

My bestfriend Devyn and I decided that we were going to eat healthy today, and this little bitch here at Wendy's messed up our order. Devyn seems to think I'm overreacting . Overreacting would be if I went tossed this salad in her face.

But I wanna see how Devyn feels when she expects to get a pair a Jaques Marie Marge shades for her birthday and I throw that hoe some Wal-Mart glasses.

"You really sitting there upset over a fucking salad. I don't even know how we're friends."

"Cause I'm boss and your boss, and boss bitches hang together." I smiled.

"Alright you got a point there." She said doing a little dance.

"Ouu. Girl stop dancing. Isn't that Josiah." I said discreetly pointing to the entrance where a figure we knew all to well entered with his arms wrapped around a female that wasn't Dev.

"Bitch. I know you fucking lying." He hadn't noticed us yet but he definitely was about to.

"Ayo! Josiah what the fuck is this?" His head shot in our direction as Dev stood up and I so did I.

He looked like a deer bouta get ran the fuck over and baby girl just look lost. Dev was heading over and I grabbed her arm pulling her to me.

"Devyn, check your man and not that girl."

"I got this!" She stormed off to do them. One thing I hated was for a female to check another female over her no good ass nigga.

"This what the fuck you out here doing Jo? So you taking bitches out to eat and shit."

"Dev, you bugging. This just my friend."

"Just your friend? Bet." The side chick saying putting emphasis on the word "bet." . I know this irrelevant, but side chick bad ass hell.

"Destiney don't start." He said rubbing his hands down his face.

"No let's start. Hey, I'm Devyn and this is my no good ass nigga Josiah but you already know him though."

"I'm Destiney, nice to meet you. Josiah, I asked you did you have a girl two months ago and now you you got me looking stupid." She punched him.

"Two months? This that bitch you been talking to? You still fucking with this bitch after I told you what the fuck was gone happen." She yelled as she quickly bat him in the mouth, busting his lip.

"Ayo Dev, calm your lil ass down. Embarrassing me and shit." He said grabbing her roughly by the arm. I snatched my taser out my bag ready to electrocute his ass.

"Get your hands off me," she pushed him off. "If anybody should be embarrassed it should be me. You better sleep with one eye open for the rest of your life. Shrimp dick bitch. Come on girl, we out." I shook my head walking passed him heading to my car. I'm glad we got out there when we did because the cops were just pulling up.

After making it to my moms house in Westwego, I wasn't surprised to see her front lawn looking like a boys locker room. They're were shirtless guys everywhere arguing over who fouled who during the basketball game.

"Morg, I'm gonna walk down the street to my house. I call you later." I nodded telling her I'll be waiting for her call.

I walked towards the group of boys, grabbing one buy his bush. Most of the boys laughed while he groaned. Don't worry I didn't just assault someone's son, he's my brother.

"Moriah, you know mama don't like when you have all these boys around her house." I said letting his hair go.

"Mama don't like it, or you don't like it? Let me find out one these niggas got you hot and bothered out here. Don't get smacked Morgan."

"First of all ewww. Second of you know I don't get down like that." I said in a duh tone.

"I'm cool with that. You should let me watch y'all sometime." He said and I smacked his head.

"I'm your fucking sister!"

"But she not though!" He chuckled jogging back over to his friends, a few familiar faced spoke and I kept it simple with a plain "hey." Mostly because Moriah would have my head if he thought I was out here being fast with his friends. He didn't mind joking around with me but he was overprotective as hell.

We're both 19, but we have different moms, meaning our father was a dawg ass nigga. Moriah's mother passed away when we were seven, and then our dad died when we were eight. For the last eleven years my mom had been taking care of us both.

"Mama!" I yelled walking through the house.

"I'm the kitchen!" She called out.

I found her in the kitchen fucking it up. She had red beans on the back burner, chicken sizzling on the front, and I could smell the corn bread from the oven. My mother was alway throwing down, she had the best food in the neighborhood. I loved going visit her family during the holiday, cause I can tell you I wasn't missing no meals.

"Ma, you throwing down like its Sunday."

"You know I like to cook my red beans on Mondays." I smiled nodding my head. "How'd the college thing go?"

"Orientation was good, I liked it. I can't wait to actually be on campus." Earlier I visited Southern University for a tour and it's everything I dreamed about.

I didn't get to start college last year when I graduated, because Moriah and I both graduated at the same time. Even with the student loans my mom still wouldn't have enough to send us both to College. Moriah begged me to go, but I declined letting him go instead.

I wanted him to be away at college as soon as possible it's so easy for boy to get caught up in the "thug" life around here. I didn't want that for him, so I made sure he knew he had a way out.

This summer since he's been home he's been thanking me for giving him the opportunity to make something out of his life, but I let him know that I wouldn't have it any other way. I knew it would be easier for me than him to take a year off then go to college.

"You okay baby?"

"Yeah ma, im just excited."

"I know. Congratulations, I'm proud of you and your brother. Now go get him and tell him take I shower so he could come eat."

"Will do." That's how my night ends, eating dinner with my two favorite people. And in just two weeks I'll be living the college life.
