"Hm." They nodded.
____________
"Captain! A group of Inferior Earth Golems have been spotted. They seem to be in Grade 3." a scout reported.
"What's the count?" Arnold asked.
"They number at least twenty."
"Such a group should have a leader somewhere. Don't let your guards down, let's go!" Fire erupted out of the boots of the armor Arnold wore, and he started to fly towards them.
Not wanting to get left behind, other used their forms of transport.
"Neigh!" A horse whose mane was pure white sped after Arnold. Atop it was the vice captain, who did not even spare others a glance before moving.
"Stingy as always, I see." A Wind Mage used the Basic Wind spell, Wind Steps, and had started to run on the air.
Soon after, everyone had gone a bit further away, leaving behind Tanner, who looked to be in no rush to move.
"It's impossible that the Earth Golems would move alone. There might be something afoot here." Tanner started to sprint towards where the group had gone to.
_________
"There you are!" Still flying in the air, Arnold located a smaller golem in the midst of the group. It was smaller, but it's skin seemed to be glistening, a sign it was about to evolve.
"It's almost a Bronze Skinned Golem. It must be worth something!" Speeding towards the golem, the vice captain roared loudly, emitting sound waves which cracked the lower graded golems.
"Screech!" Executing the Mid-Tier Sound spell, the vice captain screeched loudly, instantly turning five golems into dust.
"That hardheaded fool! Phoenix Dive!" Arnold held up a sword, and it blazed with a fiery aura. The illusion of a phoenix appeared behind him, and he dove down, bearing great momentum.
Chi!
A loud metallic clang rang out.
"Iron Clad Golem! What's an Iron Clad Golem doing here?!" the vice captain shouted.
"Dragon Storm!" Arnold flew back. Casting at a fast speed, twenty dragons appeared in the air. The Advanced Fire Spell, Dragon Storm was cast, and the blazing dragons flew downward, creating a massive shockwave.
"Neigh!" the vice captain's horse galloped on the air, evading the shockwave.
Chi!
"It's defense is too strong!"
"Where are the others?!"
"Right here!" The seven people, gaining an opportunity instantly released their spells. They were all Advanced Mages, however, with the amount of time they could get, they mostly casted Mid-Tier spells.
"Fireball Storm!"
"Light Sword!"
"Rock Spear!"
Spells of different attribute collided with the golem, giving off scraping sounds that were incredibly painful to the ear.
"Phoenix Dive!" Arnold, who had flown upward again, swooped down with his sword.
"Wind Chop!" the vice captain used his first element, Wind. A small saber appeared in his hands and he roared. His horse instantly neighed, moving at a speed close to Mach 2.
"Amazing Techniques...." Tanner's eyes calmly analyzed the techniques they both used.
Arnold seemed to use a Holy Beast Technique, which used the aura of the one of four great holy beasts – The Phoenix.
The vice captain did not use a Holy Beast Technique, but used his horse as a multiplier.
So far, Arnold had only used the Fire element, which seemed to be his main element.
"Roar!" Tanner looked backwards. A Bronze Skinned Golem had somehow escaped his team's supervision and sent a massive boulder flying towards him.
"Even with stealth, it can still locate me. How troublesome." Tanner thought back to the battle between he and John. He had over reacted at certain times, giving the opponent the advantage.
"It's a golem, so it's basic weakness is speed. However, it should be extremely good in close combat, so I should try and keep a bit of distance." Evading to the left, Tanner lunged at the golem at a speed which startled the beast.
It's eyes, which were two bronze gems, shone for a moment. In the next, it sent out a punch towards Tanner's dagger strike.
Chi!
A loud metallic clang rang out. A small shockwave spread out, kicking up a bit of dust. Tanner took five steps backwards before stabilizing himself. Without any thought, he flew forward again, clashing head on with the fist, which had not moved.
"Water Wave!" Tanner swung his hand, releasing a wave. However, it seemed to give off a vibe of sharpness, unlike normal ones which would simply send a huge amount of pressure.
Chi!
A bronze arm fell off.
Roar!
The golem roared, and several Rock Fangs flew out from the ground and flew towards him.
"Fast!" Tanner exclaimed as he swung the dagger, deflecting a fang.
From afar, it looked like a bronze figure assaulting a blurry figure. However, with each wave of fangs which flew towards him, the accuracy decreased.
The golem, seeing that Tanner had figured out a pattern to it's attack roared loudly. It went for close combat, moving at a moderate speed.
"Mistake! Water Wave!" Another sharp compressed wave shot out, slicing off it's other arm.
Chi!
Tanner suddenly swung at the ground, colliding with a massive bronze fist.
"It can still control it's limbs!" Tanner, feeling a sense of urgency, retreated backwards incredibly quickly.
Several Rock spikes erupted from the ground, pursuing the fleeing Tanner.
"Blood Dagger, activate!"
[HP:99/100]
[Energy: 30/100]
[Mana:90/100]
Tanner barely used Mana, as his Energy was quicker and more efficient.
Using the active skill of the dagger, Blood Burn, which used his blood to directly boost his stats. His speed improved by thirty percent in an instant.
"Water Wave!" A sharp wave shot out, slicing a bronze arm cleanly from the middle into half, which had attempted to attack from his back.
Grunting, Tanner turned around and dashed, his speed moving in a zigzag pattern which the golem could barely follow. It's bronze eyes darted left to right, in a futile attempt to locate his attacker.
Chi!
A moment after, Tanner appeared behind the golem, holding a bronze glowing core, with a hole in the golem's chest.
"You thought defense could save you? Too bad." Tanner held the core, and with a thought, it disappeared into his Superior Spatial Ring.
