The place I was in started spinning around me. The doctors, the nurses, the patients, everything.
'You think I will give her up after everything I have done for her?' his words echoed in my ears. This whole time, I thought he did all of those things out of generosity, but. . .
A laugh escaped my lips as I lifted the screen to see if I was hallucinating. But no, his face was plastered on the screen. For the first time, I saw the Edoardo that I didn't know existed. His eyes were darker than the fine suit he was wearing, veins popped out of his forehead, and his tensed jaw. His sight was possessive, and I fucking hated it.
"Can we talk?" Riccardo's soft voice brought me back to reality. But I didn't even spare a glance at him.
