/Riccardo's POV/
I can't believe that I acted that way in front of him. What is wrong with me? Who am I to be mad over the thing that shouldn't be concerning me? I seriously should be in therapy. I rested my head on my chair to calm my anxiety down. Suddenly someone barged inside my office.
"I was going to stay silent about this, but I can't do it!"
"Good morning?" I squinted my eyes trying to figure out what he was talking about.
"Why did you let her go that day?" he crossed his arms as he examines my face. 'So today is about her,' I thought.
"Who?" I sighed, looking up at him tiredly.
"Seriously?" he raised his eyebrow.
"Look, Santiago. She wouldn't have said anything on that condition. If I kept her here, she probably would go crazy. Haven't you seen her? She was literally shivering and her pain was visible in her eyes. What something happened to her? What will I. . ." I stopped since I wasn't sure how to finish that sentence.
"So you think it was a good decision to let go?" he scoffed.
"All I'm trying to say is that we need a plan,"
"We had a plan!" he pointed at himself.
"We didn't!" I shouted back, "All we had was a piece of mere information that Edoardo is in Milan! We didn't know about her mental health and how we let get face all of it! She was not okay! Can't you see that!" I slammed the table.
"Wow! So this is why you let her go," he poked his tongue inside his cheek as he turned around. I just realized what I said.
"I. . . I was just—"
"Trying to protect her," he gritted his teeth as he glared at me.
"I have a better plan. If we know what scares her, it will help us to use it against her," I could feel how nonsense this sounds.
"Are you hearing yourself?" his eyes narrowed at my statement.
'Believe me, I am, and I hate myself for this,' I said in my head.
"Trust me, bro. I will make sure that she ends up in jail at the end," I held his shoulders looking into his eyes.
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah, she has to pay for what she did."
"Keep telling that to yourself," he patted my back and walked to the door. He held the door handle for a moment and turned to me. "She is a Mafia, don't let her manipulate you," he left after saying that. I sighed loudly as I sat on my chair. She is literally getting on my nerves even when she was not here. My phone then rang pulling me back from my thoughts. It was Regina.
***O.T.P***
"Hey, babe," she said as I picked up.
"Hey," I rubbed my face.
"How is your day so far?" she asked with a bit of excitement and joy in her voice.
"Good, baby can I call you later I'm a bit busy,"
"Sure, don't stress yourself okay?"
"I won't. I love you," a smile crept on my face.
"I love you more," she hang-up.
The day went just like that. Santiago has been ignoring me the entire time and I honestly deserved that. We didn't have much work though. I only had to look at some papers and interrogate some people, like always. Eliana hasn't called me or contacted me in any way which is a relief for me. I was getting ready to go out of my office when I heard a knock on my door. Before I could even say come in the door was opened.
"Have you seen Edoardo today?" he just got to the point.
"How did you know?"
"Silvia saw you yelling at him," I raised my brows continuing to arrange my desk. "Sorry, man. I shouldn't have acted that way,"
"It's fine. He was just talking nonsense, anyways." I just smiled at him.
"Going somewhere?"
"I'm going to surprise Regina. It's our anniversary today," my smile grew wider. He frowned lips turning downward at the corner. "I know you don't like her but can you be less obvious,"
"Sure," he smiled ear to ear. "Better?"
"Not bad, I expected worse," I said as I passed by him tapping his shoulder.
"I guess the acting class is worth it," he shouted. I then rushed to my car then went to the bakery shop to take my orders. This is our third anniversary and I'm very excited. As I arrive at the bakery store, I was welcomed by the receptionist's warm smile.
"Your order is ready," she said as soon as she saw me.
"Thank you," I returned the smile. She then handed me the cake.
"Happy anniversary,"
"Thank you. Good night," I said as I left. I got inside my car and started the engine. I looked at my phone screen to see the time and it was already 8:30. I then took the little box out from my pocket and smiled at the ring. 'I hope this goes well,' I thought as I get out of my car in front of her apartment. I let out a sharp breath before getting into the building. I took the elevator and surprisingly, I was not alone. And the person who is accompanying me was non-other than Eliana's toy. He was just on his phone not even paying attention to whatever was going on around him. The long ride was finally finished and I heard a ding of the elevator. I walked to her house and I just unlocked the door with the spare key she gave me. I thought she wasn't home until I hear some noise in her room, more like moans. I thought she might be sick but as I got near her room, my heart started racing. My hands started shaking fighting the urge to open this door. I had a bouquet of roses in my left hand, but I'm really scared to see her. I finally sucked my breath and cheered for myself to open it.
My whole world is crushed by what I'm witnessing right now. I couldn't move my body anymore. I wished I never opened this door. I wished I never came here. Her eyes widened as she turned to me.
"B. . .Babe," she covered her naked body with the blanket. "I. . . I can explain," she said slowly coming near me.
"Really? Then, explain!" I tightened my fist on the roses, gritting my teeth.
"It's not what it looks like," she put her hands on my wrist.
"It's not what it looks like!" I scoffed, biting my lips, "What is it then?!" I looked into her eyes, rage rushing through my blood.
"It was an accident," she tried to explain but it came out as a whisper.
"What accident?! Huh?!" I yanked my hands harshly. "Did he force you into this?" I tried to calm myself down and held both of her shoulders.
"What are you talking about?" the man finally spoke covering his lower body with the sheets.
"Did he?" I just ignored his words.
"N. . . No," tears started flowing from her eyes.
"Then what accident are you talking about?! Did a plane crash and you landed on his dick?!" I pushed her away with the roses I bought for her. She lowered her head. "It's our anniversary, Regina. It was supposed to be a great night. I planned everything for tonight. I even bought a ring for you,"
"We can fix this," she took a step toward me but I stepped back, stopping her from approaching me.
"Cheating is not an accident, Regina. It is a choice," I broke the necklace she gave me and dropped it on the floor. "And it had a consequence that broke the trust that I built for five years in million pieces. We can't fix it," with that, I just walked out and went to my car.
I am now at a club I found near me. I went to the bar and ordered the strongest alcohol they had. I can't believe what just happened. This is not how I planned the night. Yet, I'm now at a random bar where a bunch of young people are dancing their asses off.
"Someone is alone tonight," a girl said as she approached me. I just gulped my drink. "Woah, easy there tough guy," I turned to look at her but her face was blurry. So I shifted my attention to the bartender and told him to fill my drink.
"You're drinking too much for someone alone," she put her palm on my drink. I pushed her hand away and gulped it. "What is it a heartbreak or something?" she sipped her wine.
"Girls know a man that another girl broke," I chuckled.
"Did she cheat?" I laughed loudly.
"So, it's that easy," I sipped my drink.
"What, cheating?" I nodded. "I think so. I never cheated,"
"Have you ever been cheated on?"
"Yeah, by my first love,"
"Same here," I smiled at her. After some drinks, I'm now fully drunk. I started giggling and my face became hot. I was about to take my glass but someone had already done it for me.
"Enough,"
"Who are you?" I slurred the words. Checking her body out. I don't know if it's the alcohol or my mind plotting an act of revenge, but she was hot.
"You're drunk, mister," she mocked resting her elbows on the table and leaning back. I got off of my chair and pinned her on the table. I then buried my face inside her neck and wrapped my hands around her waist. She was too shocked to say anything. I didn't say anything just sniffed her scent.
"You're so hot," I said as I licked her neck.
"Y. . . You're d. . .drunk," she tried to push me away, but I parted my lips to suck her soft skin. She let out a shaky breath and said, "This is so wrong," her hands tried to push me away, and threw them on my shoulder pulling her closer more pressure on her neck. After a few seconds of tasting her neck, I pull away and faced her. I couldn't still see her face, but her lips are so tempting. The way she is biting them, how pink they are, and how wet they are from her saliva. I didn't waste any time crushing my lips on her. Just like I thought, soft and plump. It took her some time to respond, but when she did I felt all the pain getting away from me. Our lips move in sync and my hands went to her exposed thighs making her break the kiss.
"I. . . I think we should stop," she tried to catch her breath.
"I need you, please," I squeezed her breasts on her cloth.
"You're drunk,"
"Just give me your body for tonight," I moved my hands between her legs, "Please," I licked her earlobe.
"T. . . This is wrong," her breath hitched as I touched her clothed vagina.
"You're so wet," I whispered. "I know you want me as much as I want you," I rubbed her through her panties.
"Not here," she held my wrist that was between her legs. I smiled and pulled her to the nearest room. She was hesitant at first but she eventually gave in and my mind went blank due to the pleasure.
