It happened after an art class on Tuesday.
It was lunch break right after that class, so everyone hurried away as soon as the bell rang. I was a little late as I finished my painting too close to the end of the class so still had a bit of tidying up to do.
As I was about to leave, a girl that I didn't know walked in and waved at me, mouthing "hi". I waved back without having a clue, and she approached me casually.
"This is your painting, right?"
"Yes"
"I want you to come over to my place sometime. I'd like to show you some of my pictures"
This is so random. What is this girl even thinking? And 'show you my pictures' somehow sounded really dodgy, or maybe I just had a warped mind.
"Er, sorry, but I don't even know you"
"I don't know you either, but I have been checking out your paintings left here"
OK…?
"I feel like I can relate to them. I don't know. I just see something in them that I think is special"
"Er… thank you"
"So when can you come?"
It felt a bit weird to suddenly accept an invitation to go over to the home of a girl I just met, although probably there was no harm in it either.
"Ah, I'm sorry. Maybe I was being a bit too forward", the girl answered before I could answer.
"Ha. Ha..", an awkward laugh.
"Let's just meet up for drinks first then"
Well. It's been a long time since I've done any socializing out of school other than with Sayna and Shu if you could call that socializing at all.
I guess it wouldn't hurt to try.
"Sure"
"Are you free this Friday evening?"
Evening? Isn't it normal for students like us to meet during day time on weekends…?
"Yes"
My mouth spoke on its own though.
"Great. Friday evening. 8 o'clock. By the back entrance of the train station. Is that ok?"
"Ok"
"Looking forward to seeing you then. Bye-"
She waved her hand and turned around to leave. It was so swift that I ended up just waving at her back as she walked away.
What just happened…?
