The mysterious black figure laughed evilly, making Aiden shiver.
"This person is very powrful... we have to avoid fighting him or else... we'll all die." Aiden thoigh to himself, making a serious expression.
The sect members had a grim expression on their face, the surroundings were pin drop silent, making the situation very tense.
"Now, now, should we play a little game?" The man burst into a maniacal laughter before stretching out his hands out of his pockets.
"Woosh-" A card appeared in his hand out of nowhere. Aiden had a feeling that something was not right with the card so he took a defensive stance.
"Now, don't get too scared, I won't hurt you... if you pass my challenge." The man took off the black mask from his face. He had a muscular build and had many scars on his face, making him look like a pirate from the ancient times, but he was not.
"one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight." The man started counting them all one by one before waving his hand, making the card vanish in thin air.
"Whoosh- Look above your heads." The man pointed above their heads, indicating them to look above.
"Huh!?" Ivy was shocked upon seeing the strange mark in the air, above their heads.
"Now, the game starts, Survive the monsters and if you manage to survive, I will let you go." He spoke before vanishing into thin air, just like the card.
"He is not a kids magician, is he?" Aiden scratched his head but then once again, he got serious, looking at the mark above his head.
"Is this some kind of indicator?" Ivy pointed at the strange patterns on the mark as they were looking like some indicators.
"Yes... they are indeed some kind of inicators." The sect leader finally spoke, clearing the doubts on everyone's faces.
"B-but, how can you tell?" Ivy asked with a slightly confused face.
"It's a skill of mine..." The old sect leader only told her thing before turning around.
"Listen everyone, i hear noises of monsters, we have to survive if we want to live, the magician was telling the truth, we have to survive or we die." She had a serious look on his face.
"But, aren't we all strong enough to defend ourselves?" Aiden asked, making the elders nod in agreement.
"Yes, it's ture but we cannot survive for too long if we have to face so many monsters." The sect leader had a grim expression on her face, making everyone feel pressured.
"Just how many monsters are there?" Aiden asked with a worried look on his face.
Ivy was also waiting for an answer from her master.
"...nearly 100." The words made them frown upon reaching their ears.
"What!? That many?" Ivy shouted, making the birds from the surroundings fly away.
"Isn't it simply like a beast tide!?" Aiden was also very worried after hearing the words from her mouth.
The elders were trying to not lose their cool but they were really struggling right now.
"We cannot give up, we have to fight, we must prepare every necessary thing before this pace turns into a bloody battlefield." The old sect master tried to motivate everyone but to no avail.
"C'mon guys, we can do it, we have to do it, we cannot make up excuses to not survive right?" Ivy also tried to motivate everyone's soul. The situation right now was dire, and they couldn't afford to lose even a single minute.
"Let's prepare for the battle, we cannot simply lose our lives here." Aiden also agreed and started taking out some herbs and a furnace out of his storage ring.
"You're an alchemist!?" The old sect master exclaimed upon seeing him do this.
Everyone shifted their gaze towards him, their eyes sparkling upon seeing the young talent in front of them.
"Y-yes?" Aiden felt a bit weird when he was being looked at by everyone.
"Oh- such a young talent, would you like to join our sect? We will give you a high position directly at the starting." The sect master couldn't hold it and asked him to join her sect.
"Master-! We can talk about that when we survive here." Ivy felt a bit annoyed by seeing this side of her master and reminded her of the situation they were in right now.
"Oh- sorry about that, i couldn't hold it back just now, i am sorry." The sect master felt a bit awkward and apologised to Aiden.
"No, its okay." Aiden didn't want the elderly sect master to apologise to him so he waved it off real quick.
"Now, I am going to concoct a few potions for us, we will have many advantages if I get enough time to concoct them." He looked at everyone with an expectant gaze, and everyone nodded just after he said this.
"Then it's decided, you guys will stop the beasts for some time until I finish concocting the potions." Aiden announced, making his words clear.
He was still waiting for everyone's reply, and just then, the old sect master nodded, making her descision on this.
"I agree..." Ivy also nodded, siding with her master and Aiden.
"..." The five elders also nodded their heads and it was finally decided, everyone except Aiden was going to stop the beast tide till he finished concocting the potions and pills.
Everyone felt their blood warm up, circulating at a fast face.
The situation was very tense and everyone had a serious expression up on their face. No one was in the mood to joke and laugh at this moment, only the war cry of a battle was sounding in their ears, making them clench their hands tightly.
Aiden raised his hand up in the air and shouted. "Now... let the survival begin!!
