Chereads / My Sister is a Villainess? / Chapter 15 - After The Storm Is Another Storm

Chapter 15 - After The Storm Is Another Storm

"C-Can I talk...to you?"

Lanah's upturned eyes were clouded with hesitation. This girl with an angelic and a temptress' body is such a dangerous creature that if I didn't saw Lea being repeatedly disappointed by her fantasies then there's a high chance I'll fall for her trap.

"Yes, but can we go elsewhere?"

I offered as I glance at the people looking at us with a weird glint in their eyes, I hope they don't feast us too much and spread rumors as it might affect the plans.

"Oh! Alright."

It seemed that she realized what I meant. The two of us walked towards the cafeteria, the way there is not long but an uncomfortable mood was beginning to sprout between us.

"What do you want to talk with me?"

Lanah slowed down her pace and locked gazes with me with her bronze eyes that was showing a firm resolve, it seemed that she stopped hesitating about something but I did not wait for her to answer and instead made a guess.

"Does it have something to do with my sister?"

When I saw her eyes brightened I realized that the storm was beginning to die down, just a bit then I would be blessed with the warmth of the sun and see the blue sky, however before I could hope for a rainbow another storm rushed through.

"Yes...it is."

The sounds of our footsteps and the murmurs of the crowd replaced our voice. I could already feel the sledgehammer preparing to smash my mind from the inside.

"My—"

"Wait. Let's take a seat first."

She agreed and we picked a table for two at the edge of the room away the prying eyes of others. I lose my appetite already so I only ordered a light meal the same with her. No one said anything until all the foods and drinks are placed on top of our table.

"You can tell me your problem now."

"Uhm...it's not about me, but my friend."

I raised my brows because of the surprise brought by her words, I looked at her expressions and it seemed that she's telling the truth. I thought that once again it has something to do with that rotten banana.

"What about your friend?"

"I am sorry."

She suddenly lowered her head towards me which left me confused. I stopped her forehead from the touching the table and faced her again, it would be bad if other saw us in that state after all.

"What are you sorry for?"

"I can't lie to my friend...but I did not tell her the whole truth that I promised. Its just after she learned that I—I don't like Alfred she told me that she do, and—"

"Wait stop!"

I cut her off once more, I take back what I said before this is all because of that shit! And what's with that friend of hers? Does the definition of 'friends' in this school got twisted so much that all people I talked to had their own understanding of it? Also I am hundred percent sure that the latter part is a lie.

"So you're saying that you have a 'friend' who likes that guy? Did you stopped her?"

"Yes, but she didn't listen. She told me that she bottled up her feelings of him for too long...and she thinks that my-my failure was her sign to burst it open."

Good lord. Many questions about the meaning of friends are popping out of my mind, but I put it aside for a moment and looked straight into her.

"In the end, why did you approached me?"

Lanah's hesitation, which appeared again, disappeared for another time as now she was determined to talk.

"I...I want you to help her if she ever, uh...cross her line."

That other 'her' she's talking about is surely my sister, it looks like she's still traumatized by the last week's events.

"Before I gave you my answer, are you sure that that friend of yours would not spread any rumors of what happened?"

I narrowed my eyes and tried to emit a cold aura my sister likes to use, and it seemed that I have a talent in it as I saw her shiver in fear like a rabbit in front of a lion.

"S-She promised—"

"A 'friend' like that can be trusted?"

She did not utter anymore words and her eyes are murky from the countless emotions swirling around. Looking at her visage I decided to stop torturing this poor angel any more longer.

"I don't know why you wanted me to help a person like that, but first can you tell me if your friend is as pretty as you?"

She blushed, her face is really malleable, I'm kinda tempted to pinch her supple cheeks. Lanah took out her phone and her fingers danced a top of its screen for a couple of seconds before passed it to me

"Here's her photo."

I looked at it and I found the girl in front of me more and more like an an angel. Instead of answering like, 'No, she's miles away from my beauty.', she still treasured this bitch and just indirectly told me that she's not. I passed her phone back and assured her.

"You don't have to worry."

"Why?"

"Listen, do you think a boss would go on her way and sullied her own hands to kill a commoner who displeased her?"

She tilted her head and cutely looked at me like naive herbivore.

"What I meant is, Lea would not make move if she found her enemy beneath her."

Now she looked like a critter that found an appealing riped fruit.

"Does that mean she will be okay?"

"Uh I kinda feel sorry for you now, but of course not. Aren't you classmates, don't you know she have her own clique?"

Looks like she realized now, a few more infos sprinkled and she would realize why's that cherry is still a virgin 'til now.

"My sister might have a great obsession that lowered her intellect a bit, but look pass it and she's an almost perfect girl to anyone who sees her. And of course she had a lot of admirers and friends that would do anything to please her."

"Ah..."

"That's right, even if she did do nothing that friend of yours is still in danger of being bullied."

"Then can you stop it?"

"If she decided to peep any bad rumors about my sister then of course not. However even if she did not, do you think I'll do a work for free?" I grinned as I looked at her.

"T-Then I'll do anything just save her!"

"Don't you know what happened to those people who uttered that phrase in the movies and shows?"

Her cheeks bloomed again, she too had a good imaginations from the looks of it. Of course as a good guy I would not do anything like that, so I offered her another way.

"What about this, I'll do something about your friend but you'll owe me a favor."

"What...kind of favor?"

"I don't know what yet, I'll tell you when I need your help in the future. Deal?"

I offered my hand and she looked at it for a moment before she shook it with her's.

"Deal."

After she took her hand back she was about to stood up but I stopped her.

"What about your food? Don't be too hurry we can eat together."

The two of us eat in silence for a while, it was not until I am halfway though my food that I decided to break the ice.

"So what do you liked about that guy?"

"No, I—"

She was so flustered that she almost cough the food out of her nose, it would be a funny thing to see but she might turn into a demon if that happened.

"Don't worry I won't tell my sister I promised. I am just truly curious why the heck an angel like you would like that turd."

"T-Turd?"

"Sorry for the language, but it's the truth."

I felt pity seeing her naive confused look so I decided to indoctrinate her about the dangers of shit. I hope she spread this one and make that dandruff lose his admirers.

"His handsome face, his charming smile, and his benevolent persona, all of that is just a facade. He is a scumbag through and through.

"If he's really a good guy then he would stick with Lea, and if he does not love her back then he would stay away and break off the engagement. What do you think that guy is doing now?"

I let my words guide her to her own memories while I took a sip to parched my mouth. She made a lot of different expressions in just a minute but I did not disturb her instead counted how many faces she could make. Only when I found her in dazed did I questioned her again.

"So, what do you like about him?"

"I...I..."

"Its alright you don't have to push yourself, I just did this to tell you that it's best that you be careful. Many people are not what they looked from the outside, especially in this school."

"What about you? Are you like this on the inside too?" She cutely asked.

"I can ask the same thing to you. You may seemed like an angel but...."

I was just a percent away convinced that she's blessed child of virtue through and through, but I would not surprised if her personalty does a 360° turn when no one is watching.

"However you can be sure about me. I am good guy."
