Chapter 6 - The War with the Werewolves

The next day after the princess arrived, as well as the day the assassination attempt was made on her, a lot of people were cleaned out of the camp. People who were in the camp shuddered at Angela's ruthlessness. People who had high positions in the army were captured one after another and put in prison. Due to the vacancies resulting from the sudden inspection, several of the soldiers who had done meritorious service to the kingdom were appointed to high positions.

Angela looked at the soldiers, who were not able to look at her with straight faces. She turned her gaze towards each of them. The soldiers were chained to the walls. She was hoping to find an answer to her question. I don't understand why someone would betray their own kingdom just for the sake of gain. They don't realize that once they lose ground during a war, the whole kingdom is at risk.

She could only sigh as she made her way toward the first person.

Richard was her general. She trusted him with leading her men, but when his name came out of the mouth of an assassin, she was shocked. The trust she placed in him was broken. It can never be restored once it has been broken. This was her principle. Someone who lies to her will never be trusted by her again.

Angela gently placed her hand on his chin and lifted his head. She could see the sadness in his eyes.

"Why would you do something like that, Richard?" Angela asked softly as her crystalline eyes stared at him.

Richard could feel his emotions getting out of control as he looked at her. He could smell her faint fragrance even as he gazed at her gorgeous eyes. The smell was natural, yet it was sweet. He loved her with all his heart, but he could never have her, and that became his weakness, something the culprits knew. He was given a choice: work with them or get killed. Richard sighed as he realized he had no choice but to accept their offer, for he was powerless against the situation.

Richard was impulsive. He was livid with desperation. He knew that Angela would only look at him as a friend. maybe not even a close friend. If he can't have her, why not just kill her? He concluded that the only way to ease his pain was to take Angela's life, no matter the consequences.

"You sent out all the sentries to search the perimeter right when the assassin snuck in." Very smart of you, Richard. But did you really think I would not know your plan? "

"You underestimated me, and now you're paying the consequences."

Richard widened his eyes and felt terrified. How could she know his plans? That was impossible. He had never told anyone about his plans. Then how would she know? Soon he looked behind Angela, and his face became deranged. His maid stood behind the princess. She grew up with him and knew all his secrets. However, why would she want to betray him? His mind raced with questions as he looked at his maid, trying to decipher the motives behind her betrayal. He was unsure what to think or do, and he felt the fear of his plans being exposed.

Angela could see that Richard was confused. She stood up and slowly pulled her sword out of the shield.

As Angela looked into his eyes, she placed her sword on his neck and asked, "Why should she betray you when she grew up with you and served you all her life?" "What has changed?" she demanded, her gaze never faltering.

Richard looked shocked, and then something clicked in his mind. He felt it was funny. He planned all this with a lot of effort, but he was just playing into her hands. He realized he had been fooled all along, and couldn't help but chuckle at his own naiveté.

.He looked at her, and a chuckle escaped his lips and then it turned into full-on laughter. He shook his head and laughed, marveling at how he had been taken in by the ruse.

"Hahaha, I could only laugh at those idiots who are trying to harm you. "You are as vicious as they are," he said between waves of laughter. "However, I should have known better," he added, shaking his head and smiling.

"Give me the name Richard." Who are they? "What is their purpose?" Angela asked as he took her sword near his neck.

Richard shook his head and answered,

"I don't have a name." They were masked when they came to meet me. The only thing I know is that your threat is not outside the kingdom, it is within those capital walls." "I'm sure this threat has something to do with the royal court," Richard concluded gravely.

Angela sighed after hearing from him. She clutched her sword tightly and slashed it. Blood gushed out of his neck, and his eyes became lifeless. Angela scrubbed away the blood on her face with the cloth Marie handed her. Angela felt a mix of emotions: grief, anger, and guilt. She had no other choice but to take his life. She had to do it to protect herself. Marie knew that Angela was suffering from emotional turmoil and handed her a cloth to help her clean up.

She sheathed her sword and murmured in a low voice.

It looks like I have to clean up the capital when I return this time. "If only I could have prevented this," she thought to herself.

Camp of the Werewolves,

General Arthur was standing behind a large table as he looked at the map of the border. A couple of days ago, this battle was sure to be won easily, but now his gloomy face spoke volumes about how things turned out. When he was about to launch an attack, he got the news that the Astral princess had taken command. General Arthur had been planning to launch an attack on the border, but when he heard that the Astral Princess was taking command, he knew that he was unlikely to succeed. Her reputation as a fierce and strategic leader had spread far and wide, and General Arthur knew that his chances of winning had all but disappeared.

He was not afraid of the princess, but was not sure whether she had brought back forces. There was no way the battle would be easy if there was a backup. The majority of the forces were fighting Luke Leonard in the north and south. This was their weakest point. He wanted a diversion and then to infiltrate through the south, but now it looked like that was not going to happen anymore.

He had no idea what to do if the princess chose to attack. He was about to call someone in when his servant appeared before him and kneeled down.

"Master, someone is here to see you." He wants me to tell you that he has some information about the situation in the southern camp. He was relieved to hear this and decided to hear what the man had to say. He was hopeful that the man had some advice or strategy to help him prepare for the possible attack.

The general narrowed his eyes and asked his servant.

Is he carrying any weapons? Has he been searched?

The servant nodded and spoke in a respectful manner.

"He came here alone. "" There were no weapons with him."

The general nodded at the servant to call him in.

Despite not knowing who the other party was, he could only take whatever option was available to him. It was possible that the stranger had significant information if what he said was true. There is a possibility that he could defeat the army of the princess, and that would be a proud moment for him. The Astral princess suffered her first loss at his hands. That would be worthy of celebration and honor for him. He chose to take the risk and rise to the challenge, knowing that if it was successful, it would be a momentous victory for him, and he would be remembered in history.

Looking at the figure in front of him, he paused for a moment. His face was covered but from the aura he was giving, it was apparent that the other guy was not simple. He knew he had to be extra careful with this one; there was something special about the figure that made him uneasy.

His blonde hair appeared along with a handsome face as the figure slowly revealed his face.

"Hello General Atherton, My name is Steven Celestia, Elder son of the Celestial Family." "It is an honor to meet you," he continued, bowing respectfully.

The sly smile on his lips and that blonde hair made his smile even more sinister as he stared at the general in front of him. His icy blue eyes held the general's gaze, making it clear that he was not intimidated by the show of power.
