Chereads / The FORBIDDEN FLOWER / Chapter 7 - Battle Explodes

Chapter 7 - Battle Explodes

There was a huge valley spanning several miles between the borders of Celestia and the werewolf kingdom. Although this area is generally peaceful, they could all sense the tension in the air. The soldiers in the human camp were surprised to hear the report from their spies. They discovered that the werewolves had decided to attack them even after knowing that the princess was leading the troops. It seemed that the werewolves were determined to take over the valley and were not willing to negotiate or come to any peace agreement. They felt that if they could defeat the human army, they would be in a better position to control the valley.

Angela narrowed her eyes while listening to the report from Ezra. Something didn't feel right about the situation. She suspected that their plan had a much darker purpose than what Ezra was reporting.

Even after knowing that she was present in the camp, they decided to attack it because they knew something had happened in their camp. Someone had leaked information about the changes in their camp. Their attack was a calculated risk, indicating that they were willing to take the chance of success despite the potential consequences.

"Ezra, we should also get ready." They are coming at us with all their force. We will lose this battle if we do not gain momentum in the first battle. We have to make sure we are ready for whatever comes our way. We need to be prepared to fight and protect our camp. "We must use our resources wisely and make sure we have a strategy that will guarantee success."

She walked towards her armor and slowly put it on. Her curvy and sexy figure was further accentuated by the tight-fit armor. With her mindset and her armor on, she was ready to lead her troops to victory.

Werewolf camp

General Atherton had a smile on his lips as he looked at the person in front of him.

I would like to ask you, Master Celestia, are you sure of this information? The lives of my soldiers depend on this. So I have to make sure there are no mistakes. Master Celestia nodded and said, "Yes, I am certain." I double-checked the information, and it was correct. "You can trust me on this."

At first, Atterton couldn't believe this young master, but after hearing that he only wanted the princess after defeating the forces, he started to feel relieved.

This young master was a very cruel person, the type of person who never cared about honor or loyalty. Although werewolves were brutal, they had a basic honor they kept inside them. They never turned against their pack. This young master, however, was not like that. He was willing to do whatever it took to get what he wanted, no matter the cost. He had no sense of loyalty or honor, and this made him a dangerous and unpredictable enemy.

Atherton could only shake his head and sigh. When there are traitors inside a kingdom, what is the point of becoming the strongest kingdom? Even though they could be savage, the werewolves held onto a moral code that they would never break. Atherton was left to ponder the question of what good power could do when there were those from within who could not be trusted.

Atherton, you can release your forces on these regiments. They both have newly appointed leaders and they are not able to fully command these forces. This is their weakness. Even if the princess is strong, she is not capable of saving a sinking ship. Therefore, with their lack of experience, the princess will not be able to lead them to victory, which could make all the difference in the outcome of the battle.

"Even if she is defeated, we cannot capture her. The Human King will unleash all his forces to save her from us." Atherton said as he sipped from his goblet.

Steven let out a chuckle as he stood up.

"Of course, you cannot capture her, but this battle is not over even after she is defeated here. Her position in the palace will weaken after this defeat. Civilians' trust in their Astral Princess will weaken. I can use that to my advantage to support her and appeal to the king to make a marriage between us."

This plan had been on his mind for a long time. He knew the princess was not stupid enough to not notice the traitors right under her nose. She is not soft enough to spare them. Steven knew that things would unfold this way. Everything was carefully planned. If nothing turned out wrong, her reputation would be destroyed by the time she returned after her defeat.

Atherton nodded as he gave orders. He was not concerned about the human kingdom. Even if the princess was the most beautiful woman in the world, he didn't care because Wolves only have one mate in the world. Their hearts will only be dedicated to their mate once they mark them as their partner.

A group of wolves ran through the valley at a rapid pace. The wolves had to move quickly in order to reach the princess before the enemy forces could mount a counterattack. They only sent a thousand people so that the enemy would not be aware of their presence and would not be able to prepare for their arrival. Their goal was to stall the princess until their main forces had defeated the enemy's weakest links.

As they arrived at the center of the valley they could see a huge force in front of them. The wolf leading the pack raised his hand and the wolves behind him stopped at once. Michael, the wolf leading the pack, looked at the figure who was riding the horse. Her figure was graceful and her armor fitted beautifully. She sat on her horse and the wolves could feel her aura radiating out. Micheal felt the power and authority emanating from her, and he knew then that this was their leader. Her face was covered by a helmet, and she carried a long sword on her hips.

Michael gulped as he returned to his troops so that they could start stalling them. She raised her sword into the air and shouted a powerful battle cry, causing the wolves to stop in their tracks. Then, she spurred her horse forward, leading the charge and ready to fight. With one resolute stroke, she took the lead and the soldiers behind her followed with a renewed sense of courage and determination.

Micheal felt something was wrong the moment he heard the battle cry. All they wanted was to stall her. From previous battles, he knew that humans never attacked first and always had to plan before attacking. As Micheal cursed in his mind, he turned around to face the incoming army. The figure leading at the front swung her sword and a lot of wolves were taken out. Micheal's heart dropped as he realized the magnitude of the impending battle; it was clear that the humans were determined to fight, and fight to win.

Although the wolves were stronger and faster, they were also vulnerable to the astral magic wielded by humans. The woman leading the army jumped down from her horse and swung her blade to kill the wolf that was about to bite her. The wolf was split into two. Two more wolves jumped at her before she could relax. With quick reflexes, she jumped away from the two wolves and continued to fight, determined to protect herself and the army behind her.

After flicking the sword, she pierced another wolf's head precisely behind her head. But another wolf was on her before she could retake her sword. After letting go of the sword, she dived to the left and picked up a spear from a soldier's body, and threw it accurately. The spear tore through the air and slammed right into the incoming wolf, nailing it to a tree. With a burst of strength, she whirled around and brandished the spear like an expert, ready for the next attack.

Michael was stunned when he saw this set of operations from the princess. They could not beat her. He gritted his teeth and made a final decision. He made a fist and slammed it right into his chest.

Soon his eyes turned red and his body started getting thicker. This only happens when wolves start burning their blood. His body as well as his claws started getting broader. He looked at the figure killing his subordinates one by one and growled with fury.

He jumped up and slashed his claws with immense force. The figure in armor looked at the incoming claw and her eyes narrowed. Her spear was placed horizontally, blocking the claw, but the force caused her to step back ten steps. Even with her spear blocking the attack, the sheer power of the incoming claw caused her to be pushed back. She had to use all her strength to keep her spear in place and not be overpowered by the attack.

Michaell was out of his mind as he started swinging his claws continuously. The princess dodged left and right between the claws, but she paused for a moment and jumped up, throwing the spear with immense force. This is because the claw pierced through and stuck to the ground. Before Michael could regain his balance, the figure rushed in, and right before she reached her body, her hands reached out and skilfully took a sword that was stuck in the wolf's throat. The sword rushed in. With one powerful thrust, the figure drove the sword into Michael's chest - an emphatic victory that left the princess standing triumphant in the wake of her enemy.

Micheal could not speak as his body weakened and changed into a human form. He looked up and was shocked to see the figure in front of him. His eyes widened in disbelief as he realized who it was.

What the hell? This was not the princess who stood in front of him. If the princess was not leading the crowd, where was she?
