Chapter 5 - And what if I do?

'Eh. Sealed memories?' Carson tilted his head in confusion when he heard her words. Sealed memories, his brain tried processing the meaning behind those words.

'When you say Sealed memories, do you mean a memory I have forgotten?' He inquired, curiously.

[Affirmative: Approximately, 10,000 years ago after the invasion of another universe. Master was severely injured after his confrontation with the invaders of the other side and decided to reincarnate his soul 10,000 years later.]

The voice explained.

Carson's mind became blank after hearing that. Although he didn't understand what she meant by 'Invaders' Of another universe. He could more or less understand the general picture when he thinks back to that dream, he had a moment ago.

'... I see. And you say I'm his incarnation, right?'

[Affirmative.]

'So that's why those guys felt so familiar to me, that red-haired man was actually me, in my first life. Is that also the reason why I was able to view everything from his perspective, then?' Carson's face looked doubtful. That red-haired man was so handsome that Carson couldn't believe he was actually human, there was literally no imperfections anywhere on his body at all.

When comparing his current self with that godlike existence, he couldn't help but shake his head with a bitter smile as he felt a feeling of inferiority. Although Carson never thought of himself as ugly, he wasn't really handsome either, you could say he was somewhere in the middle. When thinking of it like that there was no comparison between them at all.

'I think I understand now, but why don't I remember anything about my past life?' He asked, the question he was most curious about.

[Answer: I was the one who sealed the memories of Master's previous life. Due to master's current weaken self suddenly having the memories of millions and billions of years would not only put a lot of pressure onto your brain and mind, but also your soul. When taking all the risk into consideration I deduce that it would be better to allow you to regain your memories gradually as you grow stronger.]

The voice explained, nonchalantly.

'I... I see.' Carson nodded his head in understanding. Indeed. Suddenly gaining so much knowledge would definitely be detrimental to the mind. He really didn't want to think about what kind of headache that would cause as the mere thought of it made him pale greatly.

"Hm, are you, okay?" Amy who was seated around her table while typing on her laptop asked as she saw Carson's ashen face.

"Haha... Don't worry I am fine." Carson replied. But then he glanced at his phone and promptly got to his feet. "It seems classes will start soon; I should get going." He said as he quickly approached the door.

"Sure, but remember to be careful and not to exert too much pressure onto your hand for the time being." Amy warned sternly. "Right, I understand." Carson nodded his head as he left. The door closed behind him with a small sound. Once the door was closed Amy sighed and got to her feet.

She took up some documents from her desk and was about to leave when she saw something that caused her eyes to widen.

What reflected in her eyes was a crushed spider that spew blood everywhere.

...

Meanwhile...

Carson walked leisurely through the corridor as he listened to the voice inside his head.

'So, can I ask you another question?' He inquired.

[Affirmative: I am always here whenever you need me.]

The voice responded.

'Thank you... So, considering that I am the reincarnation to that red-haired man I saw in my dream. Does this mean that you were with me since the very beginning?'

[Affirmative: I have been with you since the day you were born, as a being who has the soul of the God of chaos and destruction. Our soul, fate and existence are connected deeply and is inseparable.]

"I see... So then why, why did it take you so long to appear?" He inquired, frowning. If he knew he had something like this inside him he could have taken advantage of it much sooner.

[Answer: Because master was simply too weak. I wasn't able to fully establish a stable connection with your mind as doing so forcefully was too risky. However, after you were bitten by that poisonous spider and your life was in danger, I decided to recreate the structure of your body in order to fight against that poison.]

The voice explained.

"Re-Recreate?" As Carson was about to step down the staircase his steps froze as he heard that. And for an instant his expression became somewhat strange. His body was recreated. As he had stopped in his tracks many of the students behind were annoyed. "Oi, weakling, move it!" An annoyed voice sounded from behind, but Carson didn't show any kind of reaction as he completely ignored it.

A white-haired youth who seems to be 15 years old frowned as he was casually ignored. As someone who was an "Unevolved human" Carson was naturally well known around the academy, almost everyone without exception treated him as air and never even bothered to pay any attention to him at all.

Seeing that he was being ignored, especially by someone so weak and useless the young white-haired youth was naturally angered. He gritted his teeth and clenched his fist in anger, at the same time. His skin became silver as it sparkled like gem.

His entire body was covered within a layer of diamond and without thinking twice he lunged towards Carson with his fist arched back!

[Warning: Incoming attack detected!]

The voice warned.

Sensing the vibration of the ground beneath his feet Carson glanced over his shoulder and saw someone charging towards him with an unstoppable might!

And with a small and yet casual movement of his body he easily evaded the attack in mere seconds. The young white-haired youth widen his eyes as Carson moves out of the way! At the same time with the excess momentum, he had built up while running he was unable to stop himself and fell down the long staircase roughly.

The ground trembled as he descended down the staircase and landed onto his face. Several gasps resounded as the remaining students behind looked at Carson as though he was a dead man. Carson also frowns when he realized what he had just done.

'Sigh. This is going to be troublesome.' Carson scratches the back of his head as he sighed. He naturally notices what had just happen now, the fact that his body was able to react and evade the attack of the white-haired youth was definitely an achievement, at least when you considered how weak he was previously.

"Hey, you said something about recreating my body, right. Is this what you mean?" He inquired.

[Affirmative: Masters body is now several times stronger and more durable when compared to before.]

"... I see. So, that's how it is?" Carson tilted his head. His body didn't feel any different from before and he also did not notice any subtle changes with the naked eyes. So, it was hard to tell what really changed with his physical body.

'But that reaction speed just now.' He pondered, if it was before he knew it was impossible for him to react or evade an attack coming at him at such speed and distant.

Bang!

The ground shook and rumble fiercely as the white-haired youth stomped heavily onto the ground as he stared at Carson with bloodshot eyes. "How dare you, you piece of trash!" He bellowed ferociously. He bent his knees and once again launch himself towards Carson's figure.

Swoosh!

In mere seconds he appeared before Carson and thrust his fist outwards!

Bang!

His fist collided with Carson's face as his body flew backwards from the force.

BOOOOM!

A fierce shockwave erupted as he slammed against the wall. Multiple cracks ran across the wall as it caved in from the force. Carson's back stayed against the wall as his hair partially hid his face from view.

"This... Is that guy still alive?"

"Are you kidding? No way, such an attack could easily break the bone of an evolved humans if they are taken by surprise by that attack just now, how was an unevolved human with a weak body supposed to be able to survive that?"

"... Won't we be in trouble if he actually dies?"

"Hmph, who cares. In this world only the strong matters, all the weak can do is submit. It was also his fault for upsetting that guy in the first place."

The white-haired youth steadily approached Carson's figure while a fierce gleam shone in his eyes.

"Ouch, that one hurts." Carson mumbled as his face winced. He used his hand and gently caresses his cheeks with a strange expression on his face. "Even though I feel a slight pain, if it was before I'm sure I would have lost my head just now." Carson muttered as he stared at the white-haired youth approaching him coldly. 'Was he really trying to kill me just now?' He wondered internally.

[Master's defensive stats has increased dramatically during the process of reconstruction.]

The voice explained.

'Eh, defensive stats? Why does it sound like I'm a character from a rpg video game.'

Carson blink blankly as he gazes at the transparent screen that suddenly appeared before his eyes. He couldn't help but chuckle.

"This really is just like a game." For a moment a deep look of relief appeared on his face.

Although he really wanted to ask more questions, he decided to do that at another time as the white-haired youth appeared before him.

His body sparkled like glass as he cracked his knuckles.

However, before he made any kind of sudden action, he furrowed his brow in confusion.

"Y-You... Are not hurt?" He asked as he observed Carson's face incredulously. Aside from some small minor scratches on the side he was relatively fine.

"Fine... I wouldn't say I am fine; your punch definitely did some damage that's for sure. But now it's my turn." Carson said as he got to his feet lightly. Carson felt his muscles twitch as he put pressure into his fist and punch outwards!

Swoosh!...

A powerful gust of wind erupted from his sudden motion. The white-haired young man's hair tousled and fluttered by the wind. And just as Carson was about to launch his attack for real, he stops as someone unexpected appeared between them!

A young man with neatly trimmed black hair, dressed in a blue and black uniform of the academy.

This man wore round shaped glasses that sparkled with the reflection of the sun's gleam.

He carried an aura of both dignity and pride as he watched Carson's fist approached his face.

Seeing someone appeared before him Carson's eyes widen as he stopped his fist a few inches away from making contact with his face.

The man that had appeared before him was of similar status as Eliana, they were both student president. This young man was someone who also originate from a high background.

"What do you think you're doing, Alexander?" Carson inquired with narrowed eyes.

"... That's the same question I'd like to ask you, what do you think you're doing, fighting in the middle of the hall?" Alexander asked as he squinted his eyes.

"... That guy was the one who attacked me first, I was just returning the favour. Is there a problem with that?"

"Of course, there is. I don't care if you two fought somewhere else, but I won't allow you two to fight and caused any more destruction here."

"Oh, so you are going to stop me?" Carson asked, slightly amused with this outcome. He remembered in the past when he is getting bullied Alexander usually turned a blind eye towards him. But now he was interrupting when he was about to defend himself.

'What hypocrite!' Carson thought as a look of disgust appeared on his face. Seeing that Alexander frowned.

"What's with that look, are you going to attack him despite what I just said?" He asked narrowing his eyes.

"Oh, and what if I do... Are you going to stop me by force?" Carson inquired, curiously. His lips upturned into a faint smile.
