In a world full of logic defying surprises and scenery, the two people coming towards failed to notice me. They were still immersed in their own conversation.
" Viktor, we have walked for so long now. I have already told you my profession and stats. You should know that I cannot walk for too long." Said the girl while they were right infront of me.
" I know all about it Elaine. You don't have to worry anymore. This map tells that the dungeon is right infront of us. We should take a rest after we reach there, recover our strengths and explore the dungeon together." Viktor said glancing at me without giving too much thought. He must have thought that I was just another one of the weird trees found in this planet.
I thought they would notice the weird looking dwarf tree with fruits in its branches that didn't match its stature. Only Viktor glanced at me while Elaine didnt even give me a look and walked past me in same leisure manner. "Was I not even worthy of getting a side eye from Elaine ?" I laughed at their lacking senses. Even stones could be their enemies in this planet.
The thing that surprised me the most was the map in Viktor's hand. The map pointed them towards the nearest dungeon around them. Viktor and Elaine had probably made a temporary alliance to conquer some dungeons and would surely backstab each after seeing the treasures inside the dungeon. Pointing at the map, Viktor and Elaine walked past me.
Even though they walked past me,they were still talking to each other without any considerable pause. And from the things heard from there conversation I could deduce they were not very close friends and had made a temporary alliance to achieve a common goal.
Hints of distrust could be seen from the way they kept distance from each other. They were close but no so close that one could not see any surprise attacks. Vigilance and fear were written all over their faces but they still talked to each other like they were friends from seven lives.
I could use their mistrust and catch two fishes with one spear. I secretly marked them with deathly aura. It could be used as a tracker to track them inside the dungeon and let my dungeon exploration team get rid of them.
I secretly watched their every move. When they were infront of the dungeon, rather than going inside they chose a spot near the dungeon and sat there.They probably wanted to be in their best shapes before venturing into the unknowns. My dungeon exploration team was already prepared to ambush the pair but there had to be some changes in the plans.
When they first appeared, I thought of a lot of scenarios and even made the ambush with a lot of flaws.I hastily prepared the ambush and it could easily be countered. Neither did I know the strength of Viktor or Elaine nor were they my friends. They were here in my territory to conquer my dungeon and take away my benefits means they were my enemies.
I would never take my enemies lightly. Enemies should not be given any chances to take any counter measures. And the pair gave me a chance to strengthen my ambush plans at a perfect time. Viktor and Elaine didn't show any signs they were moving in a short while. My dungeon exploration team also went to create a unpenetrable ambush.
Everything was ready but Viktor and Elaine still made no signs that they were moving. After three gruesome hours they finally made their move.
I was ecstatic and excited to see what was written in Viktor and Elaine's fate.
