Though physically, Xu was fine, under her emotionless mask she worried for what was to come. The changes to the court-martial proceedings had blindsided her. Yet, since Yun and Suleika were working together, she assumed that some strings had been pulled to keep things within the reach of those who actually knew and trusted her former commander.
By far, the biggest challenge was Rui. Xu could tell that she'd matured quite a lot, but under that - admittedly thin - layer of professionalism was a woman tensed and ready to lash out. Rui paced in the waiting area. She tapped her foot, fussed with her uniform, and muttered to herself. All things Xu found annoying when the person doing them insisted on being within arm's reach of her.
