(Twenty Three Years Later, in an apartment)
Standing in front of the mirror, Lucas ran his fingers through his pepper-grey hair and his green eye scanned around to see if anything was out of place. A smile appeared on his thin lips when a figure appeared from behind, holding a cup of steaming hot coffee.
She was slightly shorter than Lucas, and was sporting a loose tee and running pants. Patches of sweat were on her tee, and Lucas couldn't help but marvel at the creation he had made, with the help of his brother.
With her shiny black hair tied into a ponytail swaying sideways, and her athletic figure showing off clearly in her running outfit, Lucas wondered how many men would have been turned down by her due to her being an android.
Seeing her father up, Clara's cat-green eyes lit up with joy, making her break into a small run. Placing his coffee on a table next to his bed, she jumped and wrapped her arms around his neck, hugging him tightly.
"Good Morning Dad!" she chirped in his ears, making him smile unconsciously. Slicking his hair back, he ran his hand across her forearm gently, making her smile as well.
"Good Morning Clara" he replied in a gentle voice. Looking at the steaming coffee on his bedside table, he knew she had just prepared it for him. Motioning her to get ready for her day, he sat down and pulled up his newspaper to read, and a head popped back around the corner.
"Drink up, we have a long day ahead of us" said Clara and went away, Lucas knew she was just messing with him, as the long day was referred to hers. The only thing he did day in and out was keep notes of all the changes that had happened to her over the course of twenty three years.
"She has turned out to be a fine woman now. Though an android can't grow by the body, but by the mind, she has grown leaps and bounds. And the part about her feelings, I have observed that there have been instances where she has shown them to me" he thought and was lost in thought when a question jolted him back.
"How do I look, Dad?" came her voice from the doorway, making him get up and lean on the doorframe. Sipping his coffee, he looked at her outfit, which was cute and alluring at the same time.
With a sky blue sleeveless dress that ended at her knees, she coupled it with a pair of black jeans, pulling on a pair of black boots that covered until the calves. With a radiant smile on her face, she waved her hands when Lucas pouted, making her come back and give him a peck on his cheeks.
"Take care, Clara", he muttered and went back to his seat. Pulling out his notes, he looked into all the observations and events he had written, and began to record all the instances that she had shown emotions.
"It seems that after she had reached the age of fifteen, she had begun to develop emotions. They are still under development, and I think it's time to teach her how to deal with it, and what feelings are exactly."
He pondered upon this fact deeply and spun his pen a few times on his fingers when he felt his table vibrate slightly. The vibration happened again, and he was sure it was from his drawer.
"It can't be. This mobile hasn't vibrated for the past eight months. The time for the meeting hasn't come either. It could only mean one thing."
His thoughts were racing coupled with his heart beating wildly, he opened the drawer with a key that he had around his neck, and pulled out the cell phone. The screen had yet to dim, and he saw the text that had been sent.
'001. I love you, brother.'
His feelings were in turmoil as the both of them knew that this day would eventually come, and even discussed plans on how to deal with this, and the aftermath this would cause. Immediately turning off the phone, he threw it against the wall, shattering it into pieces.
He picked up an SD card, and stored it safely in a small plastic box. He looked at his watch, and saw that he had broken the phone a whole minute after he had received the text. Knowing the people he was up against, he had a hunch that he was already located.
"The time I had dread has finally arrived. They will find me shortly, with the technology they have, it isn't an impossible task. I have to send her away."
Those were the only thoughts he had immediately after he had calmed down. Sitting in front of a camera, he began to record and transferred the file into a drive. Plugging it into his laptop, he typed in a code.
'Are you sure, Nemesis?' [Y/N]
Looking at the name on the screen, he smiled and typed in 'Y', beginning the process of sending the files, forever to be stored somewhere not any of them could reach. Not having enough time to mourn his brother, a single tear rolled down his left cheek.
'I love you too, Benjamin Davidson. You did well.'
Wiping it off, he began to rummage all throughout his desk, and began to pile up all the diaries and notes he had made over the past years. Looking at them, his heart began to feel heavy. He didn't want to part with all the handwritten notes he had, and looked at the single file that sat atop the pile.
Sifting through, he began to stroke each paper carefully, and all of them were children's scribbles, which belonged to Clara. With every stroke, a vivid memory appeared, making his knees weak.
Photographs of him and his brother, along with Clara appeared at the end of the file. Looking at his brother, slowly ageing and turning old, Lucas couldn't hold it in and began to sob.
He held the file close to his chest, and tears flowed like rivers. After a few minutes, he pulled himself together again, and looked around the house to check if there was anything else that they could use to recreate Clara.
Making sure there was nothing, he placed the file atop once more and poured petroleum all over them. Lighting up a stick, he watched them burn and slowly turn to ash. Just as he was wondering what was happening, the sound of tires screeching reached his ears.
"And here I thought they wouldn't be here" he smirked and pressed a small button hidden underneath his table. In a low voice, he whispered a single command.
"System Log In: ID Nemesis"
