Chapter 17 - Lessons

Five years passed in the blink of an eye.

"Haah!"

I just finished my morning training. Now, it didn't make me any stronger, but it just became a habit of mine.

I went back for a bath before breakfast.

After bathing, I looked at myself in the mirror.

"Status."

[Ding! Showing Status.]

---------------------------------------

Name: Ethan Zephyr

Age: 10

Rank: High-Level Master [B+]

Strength: C-

Agility: C-

Stamina: C

Spirit: S+

Mana: A

Luck: F-

Charm: A

----------------

Skills: Ancient Core Creation, Zephyr Family Sword Art(Improved), Advanced Mana Manipulation, Intermediate Spells.

Profession: Mage(5 Ring), Knight (0 Star)

Storage: 1000000 Cubic metres

---------------------------------------

I was now a [B] ranker, just one Rank weaker than father. My Strength, Agility, and Stamina didn't increase as compared to my other stats because I didn't start to practice the Knight system. My Mana and Spirit were off the charts for someone my age.

In the mirror, I saw a handsome young boy with white hair and bright golden eyes. The divinity in my body started to increase my vitality in enormous proportions, which in turn made my whole body more and more perfect.

The storage space also increased by ten times each time I levelled up.

I went down to get some breakfast.

After that, me and Sophia went with my mother to her laboratory. From today onwards, I was going to start learning alchemy with Sophia under my mother's tutelage.

"Sit down, Ethan and Sophia," she said while pointing at a table with two chairs. She then explained the basics of alchemy, some of which I already knew and some that I could relate to my master's memories.

"Alchemy is the art of bringing out the best in raw materials by combining, heating, cooking and cooking them just like forging. It requires specialised knowledge, skill, and the talent to perform it.

The essential requirement for advanced alchemy is the affinity with nature, which you both inherited from me."

After saying this, she had a proud look on her face.

"Now, here is the encyclopaedia of plants and other materials that we use for alchemy. Make sure to read and remember the information. After the first chapter, there are some basic recipes for potions that we will try. Now, let me give you a demonstration."

She then brought out a set of herbs and a complex glass flask with many openings and valves. She then put the flask on heat and put some material in it.

Slowly I could see some liquid separating from the herbs.

"That's the essence of herbs. We are going to purify that and then use it.

She slowly separated the liquid from the herb and stored it in a tube.

Then she purified it by mixing it with another liquid. I saw a thin layer of a solid substance deposited on it which mom said were impurities.

After she repeated that a few times, she started mixing the purified essence using Nature mana as a medium. Using any other mana type could have unintended side effects, and directly mixing it without any medium could also cause the process to fail.

She then completed the process and put the final product into a spherical potion bottle.

"What we just made was an intermediate health regeneration potion. It can help heal injuries and some deep cuts.

It was a greenish transparent liquid with a sweet smell.

System, scan this potion.

[Ding! Scanning item.]

---------------------------------------

Name: Health Regeneration Potion

Grade: Intermediate

Description: A high quality potion made by an experienced alchemist.

Purity: 99%

---------------------------------------

Its purity was 99%, which meant that it only contained a minuscule amount of impurities and would be easy to refine and eliminate them.

Sophia and I returned to our rooms after she complained a bit to mom about learning the whole book. It took some time for me and mom to explain why it is crucial.

Sitting on the bed, I started comparing the current world herbs to that of the previous era. There were a lot of similarities and only their forms were changed. It was to be expected as they were made from the same origin.

I could deduce some very versatile recipies and just needed to test them to be sure that they worked. There were some miraculous potions that were more efficient and easy to make in the memories. That was to be expected as the previous era was significantly developed. This era had just started, and only tens of thousands of years have passed as compared to billions of billions of the last era.

There were even some recipies that could help my grandfather break through the Rank 9: Mythic [SS].

My current goal was to do just that.
