Chapter 7 - CHATEAU

Ryan jolted as he had remembered the system's notifications that he had yearned to know how they came about.

"The system. what is that? Have I become an AI."

He appeared in his soul space and observed the space curiously, astonishment evident on his face.

"How or when did this happen? " He stared at the space with eyes bulging, he even rubbed his eyes to make sure that he was not dreaming and what was in front of him was nothing but a reality.

The Savannah grassland was now nowhere to be seen as it had been replaced by a dense rainforest with a refreshing and lively atmosphere.

In the middle of the vast forest, stood a chateau building on top of a wide, long, waterfall...

Inside the building itself was exquisitely made with perfect craftsmanship resembling the medieval King Solomon's beautiful palace . The building seemed to be an abandoned structure, as a desolate aura can be felt in the eerily quiet building as if it had not been occupied for millions of years even though it was sparkling clean as if it had several servants who cleans this place daily.

Even though the building was enormous, it had only six rooms on the upper floor and a big hall under those rooms. The hall had a lectern where a person can make speeches from and a wrestling arena at the middle of the hall.

"What is the function of a lectern in this place? " Ryan was flabbergasted and confused at the same time. The hall looked like a fighting arena instead of a meeting hall, what use was a lectern?

The most shocking thing in this building was its beguiling paintings on the walls as they rendered the observers confused with their ever-changing painted works, if stared at for a long time, a weak minded being may find themselves lost in its illusionary world never to get out until they losy their souls in that world.

Under these paintings, large closed doors with a domineering look can be seen, where these doors could take one to, Ryan didn't knew. There were only these six doors in the entire building which were tightly locked for some reasons.

"Where do these doors lead to? " His curiosity was truly killing him as he wished to know the mystery lying behind these doors. He tried to push every single one of them.

"FUCK. " he cursed out loud after failing to open even a single one among them. He observed around the building and realized that he can only access the hall, other places in the building were under lockdown.

When Ryan decided to leave the building disappointedly something stopped him, the thing that he saw at the corner of his eye, and as curious as he was, how can he jump over such a thing.

" The lectern..."

He walked steadily towards the lectern and stood before it as if he was going to lecture the betting audience on the upcoming fights.

" Ding. "

The top of the lectern where written notes would usually be placed, lit up with system's notifications startling him

" Welcome Ryan King. "

The interface window unlocked showing his current status.

He realized that some data was in a locked window which he did not have access to, the Quests and cultivation windows being an example...

After satisfying his curiosity, Ryan returned to the outside world and found himself in the same place he was, nothing had changed even when he glanced at the time for confirmation, he found not even a fraction of a second had passed. It was as if he had not accessed his soul space in the first place, although he had spent more than thirty minutes there.

' The system! It is like I have become a kind of an avatar in a video game where I have to finish quests to level up. ' He touched his chin in contemplation.

' Do other cultivators have these systems or am I of a different case?'

' I have to ask them.'

He turned to the teenagers sitting behind him questioningly but upon seeing their dark expressions, he pushed the question at the back of his mind.

' What is wrong with them, did I slander or wrong anyone? If I think correctly, this is my first time meeting them, when did we became enemies, or are they retards?'

He waved his hand in front of their eyes which annoyed them even further.

"Hi guys ! " He greeted them with an awkward smile.
