David twitched. He blinked his eyelids. Had Gustav just told him the shred of his own secret? Had he just told him a compliment? But... why?
"Are you talking about your breakup with..., you know...?"
He couldn't even formulate the question decently. His tongue became entangled, as if he had just answered an oral exam. Nevertheless, Meiden understood him. He nodded slowly.
"Although maybe it's more about love," he admitted. "And about its loss."
The heart in David's chest contracted painfully. Ah, the loss of love. He felt like crying, but they were among a crowd of people and he wasn't on stage in a theater to give a performance. He didn't want them to see him like this so he held back the tears coming to his eyes and smiled even though he didn't feel in the mood to smile at all.
"I guess it won't be so tragic," he said. "It's not like we were a couple..."
