"I'll never get a girlfriend in real life," Naoya sighed, staring dejectedly at his phone.
"Dude, you say that all the time," replied the man next to him, also scrolling through his phone.
"Shut up, it's my turn to shine today..."
"Well, it's not surprising that you're the only one in class who's single."
"But how did it come to this!?"
Kaminari High School was renowned for its lively atmosphere, with students pairing up left and right. It was also considered one of the best schools in Japan. Rumors circulated that enrolling in this school guaranteed a successful romantic life: "When you enroll in Kaminari High, you'll graduate with a girlfriend or boyfriend."
"As if I could get a girlfriend!" Naoya shouted in his mind.
"Naoya, calm down... You'll find someone soon."
The guy with glasses and a friendly demeanor, one of Naoya's friends named Sato, was a perfect catch with his good personality, appearance, and reputation. Although he was still single, Naoya did not doubt that Sato would soon find a girlfriend.
"Ahh, my comrade! Good morning!" greeted Sato cheerfully.
"Morning, Naoya."
"Eek, Naoya." Her face twisted in disgust.
The one who made a disgusted face was Kris, the class A-3 secretary and one of Naoya's rivals (although not entirely enemies).
"Geh, what do you want, Kris?" Naoya asked, irritated.
"Did you just say 'geh'? Hey, repeat that," Kris demanded.
"No, nothing. You must have heard something wrong," Naoya said, trying to avoid further confrontation.
Kris then walked up to Naoya and weakly punched him in the stomach. "Hmph," she snorted, before returning to her seat.
"Ugh, what a tomboy," Naoya muttered.
"Shut it, you degenerate otaku," Kris replied, staring at Naoya with a cold gaze that made him look away.
"Haha, you two are always so lively," chuckled their friend.
"Dude, that must be the sign of love," joked another friend named Sai.
"Hey, Sai, don't say that or I might have to punch you in the face," Naoya retorted.
"I'm just joking!"
The teacher then enters the room. "Okay, students, get back to your seats because we're going to start our class. That teacher's name is Mr. Matt, one of the transferred teachers from another country. He specializes in English, Japanese, and Mathematics.
"Oh, before I start the class, we have a new transfer student that will be with us until who knows when." Mr. Matt seemed to be in an unmotivated tone. "Come in, Transfer Student."
The classroom door opens as the transfer student enters. It appears to be a girl wearing a uniform from her old school. The transfer student also has long, wavy hair that falls just past her shoulders. She might have a few face-framing layers to accentuate her features and bring attention to her eyes. Alternatively, she could have a sleek, shoulder-length bob with a blunt cut and subtle layers for added texture.
"Wait, why am I feeling creepy all of a sudden?" Naoya speaks to himself as he covers his mouth.
Some of the students in the class are all excited to ask her (more like interrogate) once it's break time.
"Hello everyone, my name is Charlotte. I am from England. Nice to meet you." Charlotte (The transfer student) bows in front of the class.
"Whoa, she's good at speaking Japanese even though she's from England." The whole class whispers.
"Everyone, quiet down... Now then, Charlotte, your seat is next to Naoya," the teacher commanded.
"Tsk," Naoya clicked his tongue in annoyance.
"Did you just click your tongue? If you have any complaints, come to my office later once the class finishes. But for now, we're going to start the class," the teacher sternly replied before beginning the English lesson.
Naoya sighed as the transfer student took the seat beside his desk. Charlotte smiled and offered Naoya a handshake. Naoya hesitated for a moment but eventually accepted her offer, and they shook hands.
"Hello, what is your name?" Charlotte asked with a smile.
"Naoya Niimi," Naoya replied as he looked forward.
"My name is Charlotte Rosewood." She then turns to the teacher and listens
After the introduction for the two of them, they started looking at the teacher who was discussing the lesson. Two hours later, the discussion ended as the teacher walked out of the class heading to the faculty room. The whole class started to surround Charlotte and ask questions.
"Hey, Charlotte! What's your full name?" "When's your birthday?"
Meanwhile, Naoya slowly got up from his seat and headed out to walk to the library. Opening his phone, he launched his favorite gacha game called "Fantasia Chronicles RPG". He was always willing to spend his time and money on the game, especially when there were new banners.
"Oh, there's going to be a new banner later. The maintenance should be done after school. I have 43k Chronos, after all," he muttered to himself, referring to the in-game currency that could be used to pull characters.
"Hmm, I guess I'll eat alone in the cafeteria," Naoya thought to himself, feeling somewhat dejected. He made his way to the cafeteria and was suddenly greeted by Sato.
"Hey, Naoya!" Sato greeted him, carrying a tray. "Yo, Sato... What's for lunch today?" Naoya asked, curious about the day's menu.
"Hmm, Curry," Sato replied.
"Alright, I'll go order one," Naoya said, heading toward the line.
A few minutes later, Naoya returned with his tray and sat down in front of Sato.
"So, how's the game going?" Sato asked, looking at Naoya's phone.
Naoya grinned, "I'm just waiting for the new banner to drop! There's gonna be a new SSR character!"
"Ohh, I heard about it from the forum updates. Her name was Aria Nightingale, right?" Sato chimed in.
"Right, she's support after all! Plus, there's a skin where you can buy it for 20k Chronos! It's a school uniform skin of Aria!" Naoya replied.
Just then, Kris passed by with a disgusted look on her face. "Geh, what are you two talking about?" she asked.
"Tsk, the witch is here," Naoya muttered.
"Who are you calling a witch?!" Kris exclaimed.
"Haha... We're talking about Fantasia Chronicle RPG. I heard you play that game too, Kris," Sato said.
"Eh?! Where did you hear that?!"
"Pfft, you play that game? Well, I don't blame you. It's a good game after all," Naoya said. Sato smuggled in, "Don't talk, Hmph!" Kris stormed off from the cafeteria.
"Heh, short-tempered," Naoya chuckled.
Kris rolled her eyes. "You two are close as always," she remarked sarcastically.
"We're not close," Naoya insisted,
"Right..." Kris muttered, shaking her head.
The two of them eventually finished their lunch and headed back to their classroom. School hours started like a normal day, and a few hours later, school ended. Naoya received a notification that the maintenance for Fantasia Chronicle RPG was done.
"Sato, I'm going home now. My Aria is waiting for me!" Naoya exclaimed.
"Yeah, good luck pulling!" Sato replied.
"Thanks! See you later!" Naoya rushed to go home, eagerly anticipating the game's updates and new events. "Damn, a 900 Mb update! Looks like there are also new events and banners... I can't wait to get home."
Naoya finally arrived home and immediately headed to his room to update the Fantasia Chronicle RPG on his PC. Since his PC was connected to his wifi router, the update was completed in less than a minute. He launched the game and headed straight to the banner section to see Aria Nightingale's banner.
"Uwaahh, the game designer did the best as always," Naoya exclaimed in excitement.
As he was about to make his pulls, his phone received a mail. "Hm? A mail?" He opened the mail and saw a mysterious message. "There you are, I've finally found you." Confused, Naoya clicked on the mail and the phone screen briefly lit up before turning off again "Ack, That made me dizzy for a bit." He looked at his phone again as the mail disappeared. "Must've been the developers pulling a prank on us... But oh well time to pull!"
Without any hesitation, Naoya placed his cursor on the "Pull 10x" button and pressed it, hoping to get his hands on the new SSR support character, Aria Nightingale.
As he pressed the button, the animation turned to gold, indicating that an SSR character was incoming. "Ohhh!" he exclaimed. 'I already feel it coming! an SSR in my first ten pulls!"
After clicking one by one he receives:
- 3 SR items
- 4 rare items
-2 uncommon items.
"Here goes nothing!" He clicked his mouse, eagerly anticipating the results of his game. Suddenly, the screen went bright, blinding him for a moment. "Not again!" he groaned, bracing himself for another technical glitch.
As the light subsided, he was startled to see a girl sitting on his bed. She had long, black hair that flowed down her back in loose waves, framing her delicate, oval-shaped face. Her bright, ethereal blue eyes sparkled like stars in the night sky, and she was wearing a flowing, floor-length gown in shades of pale blue and silver, reminiscent of the moon. The gown was adorned with intricate beading and embroidery, shimmering with every movement she made. A silver tiara encrusted with moonstones and other precious gems adorned her head.
"May the light of the moon guide us," she said, smiling at him.
