The mana-powered beast of a machine tore across the asphalt with blinding speed.
Arthur held onto the edges of his seat, straining his muscles each time the car hit a bump in the road.
David was not as careful a driver as Trevor, so tremors shook the car every time he bumped something on the road or swerved in fear of the rumbles following dangerously behind.
'When was the last time I felt… helpless?!' Arthur's thoughts echoed through his mind.
"Hang in there! We're almost to the Phoenix barrier," David yelled over the sound of the rumbling footsteps and the roaring RuneCar.
Arthur slightly relaxed at the statement. The sleepy Colton groggily woke up beside Trevor, let out a sneeze, sniffled, and then asked, "What's going on?"
"Best you don't think about that. Just go back to sleep, Snowball," Arthur replied, braving a quick peek through the rear window.
