The following day, Felix found himself at the small local clinic, standing just outside the door, hesitating briefly before he pushed it open. The man he'd pulled from the river was still on his mind, and though Felix hadn't planned on coming back so soon, he couldn't shake the sense of responsibility he felt for the stranger.
As Felix entered, Dr. Moreno greeted him with a welcoming but tired smile. "Ah, Felix. It's good to see you again," he said, motioning for him to come further inside. "You came to check on our mystery man, I assume?"
Felix nodded, glancing toward the hallway that led to the patient's room. "How is he, Doctor?"
Dr. Moreno sighed, a heaviness in his eyes that instantly put Felix on edge. "It's a difficult situation. The injuries he's sustained are… severe."
