Agatha doesn't believe Iannae. She neglects any possibility of having evidence against herself. She just implies some statements such as 'If this nun had evidence then show us' on which Iannae agreed and now, All of them were waiting for her response.
"This is what I was talking about" Iannae placed down the hourglass which contains some sand at its lower end and is still pouring the remaining sand
She noted the current timing and said " It's exactly 4:30 Am. Who was the person first to notice Agatha's screams ".
An aged maiden 'Hiyan' opnes up and lifted her left hand in answer.
"Back then Do you remember what time it was?" Hiyan scrunched her forehead a little .Analysing her behaviour Iannae cautiously said "If you don't remember then it's fine.".
"It was 4:05 am when I was strolling around the corridor then I heard a screech from somewhere around here and found this maid" Hiyan pointed at Agatha and later at Iannae and before saying" She was apologising to this nun. There are some couple of things she said such as 'please forgive me and don't tell anything to the mistress. . ." Hiyan paused and says "Yeah, I remember .She said please don't say anything to mistress Rubina. It was when the crowd began to rush. I hope many maids also heard her too".
Again standby start to gossip in regards to what they listen from Agatha and agree to one another .Agatha doesn't find any gossip in her favour. She asks "what is that hourglass supposed to prove in this investigation. Hiyan and this nun have had a deal before and now they are trying to frame me. I would be guilty ,If they had reliable proof against me ,So again. Where is the proof? ."
" When I was sleeping Agatha came to the nun's chamber. After rummaging here and there .She found nothing but before she left she saw the yet to use hourglass within the box which was placed by Lara yesterday night." Lara nodded in response and with a swift voice Iannae continued ``So ,if we coax the time said by Hiyan was 4:05 am and the current time which is 4:35 and if we reduce this time Only 30 minutes left."
"It's the approximate time period since we have been here," A handmaiden unknowingly said " Iannae you said that the hourglass is unused right? In those thirty-five minutes .if we assume to be here for thirty minutes then where are the remaining five minutes. Agatha was?".
"Those five minutes she took to reach here. Inside the laundry room. When I was following her from behind. I saw the hourglass's sand was pouring down. This is my first evidence" Iannae turned towards Gummy and said " My second evidence is Gummy as a witness. She also saw Agatha. Who entered our room at dawn or to be exact at 4:00 am she steal the hourglass. Gummy was also chasing me and her from behind."
Gummy flinched but didn't let anybody notice and replied " Y-yeah I saw her stealing the hourglass and afterwards I was tracking the maid and Iannae from behind."
"Oh! That's why when I woke up you were entering the room" says Gimmy while revealing a sigh. " And here I was wondering where you were''.
In worry Gummy's twin sister Gimmy asked for her wellbeing. Gummy ceased her lips and don't respond to her.
Even if Agatha is innocent .Right now everyone already assumes her as a culprit which is exactly what Iannae wants. For two days at least she will be sent to the dungeon and that's enough for Iannae.
Whether Agatha will be punished or not is none of Iannae's concern because the crime was insincere .All that matters is Mistress Rubina's attention. She will definitely be informed by her loyal fellow maids and workers that a secret maiden of her's was held inside the dungeon .As a result she will try to manipulate some evidence to get Agatha back or either to kill her .
Prevent her name from the dirty strains of her fallen maidan is the first. It's more like she will perform the latter scenario than the former reckless act. In any scenario Rubina will definitely summon Iannae.
Because she is the prime suspect key .As we know rumours reach faster in Palace than a flight bird.
Agatha claps her hand with force that makes everyone attentive to look at her. She mocks Iannae and mimics whatever she has displayed up until now and asks "I must say, you are a worthy butterfly to live inside this palace. But you messed up with the wrong spider here. Whose tiny web might seem playful to you but when it clutches a prey. It's impossible to escape alive."
Folding her hands around her chest .She asks " You may have enough evidence to keep me in a dungeon but not for too long until you will prove my crime with remarkable evidences regarding my stealing for a b***** hourglass."
"I saw her leaving the nuns' chamber from the west .She was holding an hourglass in her left hand," said an unknown maid. Her statement even made Iannae twitch her brows and find that unknown mouthpiece along with Agatha. It was none other than Michelle.
A while ago Michelle was instructed by some maids to visit the laundry room soon. When she got here. She heard all the circumstances Agatha was in and It's hard to neglect the gossip of several women. Michelle had an enthusiasm for her when a fellow maids illustrated to her that Agatha was suspected as the criminal. She will be confined under the dungeon forever with the help of a single witness who had seen her visiting the nun's chamber. Michelle took this opportunity and set everything up. Michelle mumbled to herself 'Oh! Agatha. Why are you so badass? That makes her chuckle internally.
Lastly Agatha was considering guilty Handmaiden called the guards and She was immediately sent to the dungeon. Although Agatha was strangely silent when the guards were cuffing her hand, her deserted eyes said otherwise.
'What a shame your own friend frames you Agatha . Anyways How pitiful.' Iannae mumbled to herself. She took a few steps closer towards Gummy and whispered in a low voice which was only heard by her.
"In today's world. A Friend framed a friend out of jealousy.
A Son killed his Father for the throne.
And
A Sister Betrayed her Sister for a man.
I guess this is the actual definition of the palace ".
"How ironic is this. Is it not Gummy."
To be continued . . .
