Chapter 41 - The Striking Mantis Goddess

We began to move together, a slow dance of passion and intimacy that only grew more intense as it continued. Our hands explored each other's bodies, our mouths finding one another again and again. The room seemed to disappear as all that existed was Aquaria and me, joined together in ecstasy.

Our pace quickened, our moans growing louder as we neared the peak of our pleasure. Our fingers gripped tightly, and I could feel Aquaria's body trembling as she reached her climax. The sensation pushed me over the edge as well, and we both cried out in unison, overcome by the intensity of our release.

As our breathing slowly returned to normal, Aquaria collapsed onto my chest, her head resting against my beating heart. We lay there together for several moments, simply enjoying each other's warmth and closeness.

Eventually, Aquaria lifted her head and looked into my eyes once more, a shy smile playing on her lips. "Thank you," she whispered, planting a gentle kiss on my lips.

I smiled back at her, brushing a strand of hair out of her face. "No, thank you."

We shared another tender kiss before snuggling closer together, our bodies entwined as we drifted off to sleep. And despite the challenges that awaited us tomorrow and beyond, something deep inside assured me that, as long as we faced them together, everything would be alright.

---

The next morning, we stayed in bed for a bit, but it wasn't long before Grimora barged into the room, only wearing her robe. She flung it off to reveal her beautiful dark bronze body and then jumped into bed beside Aquaria.

"Good morning, lovebirds!" Grimora announced cheerfully. Aquaria and I both jolted in surprise at her sudden entrance.

"Grimora! What are you doing?!" Aquaria exclaimed, quickly pulling the blanket up to cover both of us as she blushed furiously.

"Just thought I'd join the party!" Grimora grinned, wiggling her eyebrows playfully. "Looks like I missed a good one last night, too."

I couldn't help but chuckle awkwardly, feeling my own face heat up with embarrassment. It seemed that no amount of teasing would ever be enough for Grimora. But despite her antics, there was still something endearing about her boldness.

Aquaria huffed and rolled her eyes, although I could see the corners of her mouth twitching into a smile. "You're impossible," she told Grimora before turning to me. "We should get ready for our mission, Halberd. No time for any more... distractions."

Grimora pouted dramatically but eventually relented, sliding out of bed and grabbing her robe. "Fine, fine. I'll leave so you two can prepare. But don't think this is the end of it!" She winked at us before disappearing from the room, leaving Aquaria and me to get dressed and mentally prepare ourselves for the day ahead.

As we faced new challenges and navigated our complicated relationships, I knew that having these two incredible women by my side made it all worth it. Whatever awaited us on this mission, I felt confident that we would overcome it together.

Once we were all ready, we said our goodbyes to Grimora, but she slipped me a piece of paper in my pocket.

"This is my address, just in case I am not waiting for you when you get back. I might get tied up, so this is just in case," Grimora laughed and then jumped into my arms, giving me a kiss. "Take care of my best friend and make sure to shit in your target's cereal; send him cum-covered picture of his mom!"

I laughed, feeling a bit more relaxed despite the tension of the upcoming mission. "I'll do my best," I assured Grimora, giving her one last hug before turning to Aquaria.

Aquaria took my hand, and together, we exited the apartment and made our way to the portal that would send us into the world, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.

"So, just to go over this one more time. You are Halberd as always, as my name will, but my personality will be slightly altered because I am taking over something that is a lot smarter than me. You are a Space Bounty hunter, for lack of a better term, but you are also genetically modified. That already makes you a super soldier, but with your Divine Boosts, you will be inhumanly strong. The problem is that, as always, you can't kill his team, nor torture or anything else like that," Aquaria explained, and I nodded.

"So I am going to have to figure out how to hurt him without hurting them, but who are these people to this guy? His crew?" I asked as I saw the building with a sign that read "God of God Dispatch" in the distance.

"Family of crazy psychos. There is a mom, three sisters, and three brothers. There are mercs-for-hire, but they went overboard on the last mission and killed the wrong person. You are technically supposed to catch all seven of them, but just killing the target is fine as well. The dark god is Ziri'aK, and he is posing as the leader of a task force sent out by a Space Pirate Gang that wants them to join."

"Zi-what-a? What kind of divine being is he?!" I asked.

"First, he is a she and Ziri'aK is two stars that go by the full title of the Striking Mantis Goddess. She is a bug-like humanoid and an extremely good hunter and fighter. She is revered by her followers and feared by her enemies. Her ability to adapt and strategize makes her a force to be reckoned with," Aquaria explained.

I couldn't help but feel slightly intimidated by the description, knowing that we would have to face such a formidable opponent. "So, how are we supposed to take down someone like that, especially without harming the others?"

Aquaria squeezed my hand reassuringly. "You can kill her and her team. That is going to be a big part of your job, preventing them from getting to the target. Unfortunately, you are a big-time bounty hunter, so infiltrating their ranks is no good. You can still capture the family members, but you have to do it in a way that doesn't hurt them," Aquaria said as we reached the building.

"Sounds like it is going to be a tough hunt," I said as we came to a stop outside of the office.

"I am not really sure how you are going to do this, but I am sure you can convince one of the girls to betray him. I will be just working as your assistant, so you do what you need to like. I am not even there, got it?"

"Yes, ma'am," I said but hoped that she wouldn't be watching if I had to use the same tactics as last time. There were other ways of creating betrayal and other issues for the target, but this type of thing usually made anyone irrational and would give me the advantage.
