Chapter 33 - Chaos-Ace

I stared at the beings as the tendrils wrapped around his body, creating armor, and then two massive swords formed in his hands. Before I could even react, Ace was in front of me, slashing both swords into me. I somehow was able to get my blades up, but I was still smashed not only through the first wall but out two more, then into the open air outside of the building. Again, Ace was on me as I sailed into the open air, and I was smashed down into the ground.

"Use your Trigger! Show me if you are worthy of the name!" The voices screamed as its arms turned into machine guns.

I rolled and leaped to my feet, running for the cover of a building. This was not good.

I was supposed to be keeping the world damages to a minimum, but that was going to be really hard now that this Chaos had taken over. How was it that Chaos could even speak? Wasn't Chaos just a lack of order? How was it talking to me?

"Hiding will do nothing for you!" The voices screamed, and something told me to run.

Instead, I flung myself from hiding just as a missile smashed into the side of the building I had been hiding behind. I was launched even farther by the blast, but a road sign slowed me down. I pinged off that and then smashed into a store.

As I struggled to catch my breath amidst the shattered glass and debris, I couldn't help but feel a sense of despair creeping in. This was a level of chaos unlike anything I had ever faced before – a living embodiment of destruction that I couldn't even get close to.

But as I stared down at my bruised and battered body, I knew that giving up wasn't an option. If I failed here, all my efforts would have been for naught, and this world would be plunged into unrestrained chaos.

Gritting my teeth, I forced myself back onto my feet just in time to see Chaos-Ace approaching with malicious intent. The twisted, monstrous form it now took filled me with dread, but I refused to let fear overtake me. After all, I was the Chaos Trigger, and if there was anyone capable of standing against this abomination, it was me.

With a roar of defiance, I summoned every ounce of strength I could muster, slapped my pocket, and activated my Chaos Trigger to its fullest extent. My entire being became a swirling vortex of disorder, and the air around me started to crackle as debris rose up around me.

As Chaos-Ace prepared to launch another barrage of missiles at me, I surged forward with incredible speed, leaving a trail of destruction in my wake. In an instant, I closed the distance between us, cutting through missile after missile with my chaotic energy-infused blades.

Taken aback by my sudden assault, Chaos-Ace found itself on the defensive, attempting to counter my attacks with its own. Yet, though it wielded enormous power, it simply couldn't match the unpredictability and ferocity of my newfound abilities.

Realizing that it needed to change tactics, Chaos-Ace attempted to ensnare me once more with its tendrils, hoping to sap away my strength and leave me vulnerable. However, it hadn't accounted for the sheer intensity of my Chaos Trigger, which caused debris to fly up and cut any tendril that came too close.

Driven to desperation, Chaos-Ace unleashed a frenzied assault of bullets and bladed limbs, hoping to overwhelm me with sheer force. But I responded in kind, matching its chaos with my own as our titanic struggle continued.

Soon, it became apparent that the battle was taking its toll on both sides. Our surroundings lay in ruins, and we ourselves were battered and bleeding. And yet, it seemed that neither of us had any intention of backing down.

In one final, desperate gambit, Chaos-Ace summoned all of its remaining strength, preparing to unleash a devastating blast of pure entropy. If allowed to fire, this attack would doubtlessly annihilate everything in its path – including me.

Recognizing the imminent danger, I tapped into the deepest reserves of my Chaos Trigger, coaxing forth an even greater surge of power. As Chaos-Ace's entropic blast surged toward me, I met it head-on with my own wave of chaotic energy.

The resulting collision was nothing short of cataclysmic, a maelstrom of opposing forces clashing with earth-shattering force. The very fabric of reality threatened to unravel beneath the onslaught, but somehow, I managed to hold on, refusing to let chaos utterly consume me.

With one final push, I drove my chaotic energy forward, cutting through Chaos-Ace's entropy blast and striking the monstrous being at its core. A scream of pain and anger echoed through the air as the entity realized that it had been bested. Or that is what I had hoped.

I was blasted back with another wave of destructive force, and Ace's body started to expand. I looked around us and groaned. The part of the city we were in was completely destroyed, and bodies were everywhere. I could hear people screaming, but I forced it out of my head. The only thing I could afford to focus on was Ace.

His body was still growing, but something told me that attacking him right now would do nothing. I was forced to watch as Ace became a massive dragon, but my mind wasn't idle.

I started to not only draw on the chaos, but I allowed the virus to spread over my body. If Ace could become something more, then I would do the same.

My body started to become covered like Ace's was as I let the virus run wild in my body. I felt the virus try to enter my mind, but I used it to create a shell around it to protect my sanity.

This was the end, and I needed to finish this before this monster cost me more Mana! Wings grew from my back, and I launched myself into the air as Ace's new Mecha dragon body was finishing.
