Chereads / The Allgora King: Forging Vengeance / Chapter 42 - Holding Myself Back

Chapter 42 - Holding Myself Back

After we finished, Fiona appeared in the room with my clothing and some for Melodious as well. The clothing she brought me was a set of black, form-fitting pants made from a comfortable yet durable material, accompanied by a matching, long-sleeved shirt that hugged my body perfectly. Over the shirt was a dark leather vest with intricate silver embroidery along its edges, signifying my status as the Allgora King. The outfit was completed with sturdy boots and a simple but elegant cloak clasped at my neck.

For Melodious, Fiona brought a stunning gown in various shades of blue and purple, reminiscent of her flame-like eyes. The dress had a plunging neckline and a fitted waist that accentuated her curves while flowing gracefully to the floor. A delicate silver necklace adorned her neck, a symbol of her connection and devotion to me as one of my Queens.

Fiona herself wore her usual maid's uniform, which highlighted her own beauty flawlessly. Though, now that my body was stronger, I couldn't help but feel the sexual pull and urges between us each time she was close. Even so, I still wanted more time to bond with my special maid. Just like Melodious, Fiona deserved to be rewarded thoroughly.

As we dressed, I couldn't help but feel a swell of pride seeing both Melodious and myself looking so regal in our attire. We were ready to face not only our friends and allies but also any enemies that dared to challenge us.

"Thank you, Fiona," I said sincerely, offering her a warm smile. "You always have an excellent eye for clothing."

She bowed her head modestly, replying, "It is my pleasure to serve you and your Queens, my King."

With all of us now properly dressed and prepared, we left the room and made our way to where Elara and Illiana awaited us. They, too, had changed into more regal attire befitting their positions within our growing kingdom – Elara in an enchanting emerald green dress and Illiana in a radiant golden gown.

"You are awake, my king?! I assumed that you would be asleep for much longer!" Illiana exclaimed, but the black-eyed Elara pushed her out of the way.

"When are you going to make that body for me?" Elara demanded, but it was clearly Zulu.

Instead of answering her or even paying attention, I looked around the room and then at Fiona. Not everyone was here.

"Kya is at the river with your Shadow Wolf, Galor, to protect her, do not worry, my king," Fiona said, sensing my concern. "She goes almost every day, and I think that Lachlan and his men keep an eye on her, so she is more than safe."

I nodded, grateful for Fiona's understanding of my thoughts and concerns. Turning back to Elara, Illiana, and Melodious, I addressed them all before any further questions could be asked.

"Girls, I know that you all have not only questions but needs and wants," I said, looking at each of them and then at my Queen with a warm smile. "I will take care of all of these things with time, but I have just woken up and need to deal with something first, okay?" I asked, thinking about the talk that was long overdue with Lachlan.

They all looked at me for a moment before nodding in agreement. "Of course, my King," Elara said, her voice softer and more understanding. "We will be patient."

I smiled at them, grateful for their trust in me. "Thank you for your understanding. I promise that I will attend to each of your needs as soon as possible."

With that settled, I turned towards the door, readying myself for the meeting with Lachlan. Melodious caught my arm gently just before I stepped away.

"Be careful, my love," she whispered, gazing into my eyes with a blend of concern and affection. Each time I looked into them, I felt the entirety of her love burning within them.

I leaned down to kiss her softly on the lips, reassuring her with my touch. "I will, Melodious. Don't worry."

Then, finally feeling prepared, I left the room and made my way through the castle toward the village where Lachlan awaited me. Fiona followed closely behind, ever attentive and supportive.

"What do you think he wants?" Fiona asked as we walked. The people around us acted the same as before, but this time I would not let sleeping dogs growling at nightmares lie.

I stopped and then turned to a group of humans that were whispering. "Is there something the group of you would like to say to me?" I asked, and they all flinched back, and I sighed. These creatures made it so hard to be nice to them when they acted like this!

"No, my King. We... we were just surprised to see you awake and moving about so soon after your battle with the Yagtharoth," one of them stammered nervously, sensing my irritation.

I sighed again, trying to maintain my composure. "It's alright," I said, forcing a smile on my face. "Just remember that I am here to protect and guide all those who live in this kingdom, humans and monsters alike. There is no need for fear."

"We apologize, my King," another spoke up, bowing their head respectfully. "We are grateful for your protection and we will try to remember that. It is just hard to get used to having… a monster so close to us."

Part of me wanted to lash out for calling me a monster, but I just nodded at them and continued on my way toward Lachlan. I was feeling both frustrated and reassured by the encounter. It would take time for humans and monsters to fully trust and accept each other, but there was hope for progress.

"I am surprised. From everything that I have studied in your past, you have always hated humans. I had told Melodious that having a village of humans might not be good for you, but she said that it would be fine," Fiona said as she walked beside me.
