Chapter 21 - Chapter 20: Red-Eyed Zombies, Lana's Sleep Troubles, and Enhanced Drop Rates

In the evening, Drey sat alone near the mall entrance, keeping a vigilant eye for any abnormalities. Suddenly, he noticed a group of zombies with red glowing eyes. Curious, he spoke to his invisible robot companion, Aegis, seeking an explanation.

Drey asked, "Aegis, do you see those zombies with the red glowing eyes? Can you tell me what kind of zombies they are?"

Aegis responded, "Yes, Drey. Those are Red-Eyed Zombies. They're a special type of zombie that possesses enhanced abilities. Their red glowing eyes indicate their advanced state. Furthermore, their aggressiveness increase in the night."

Drey nodded in understanding and continued to keep a watchful eye on the red-eyed zombies. But then, Lana, one of the survivors, approached him, expressing her inability to sleep.

Lana approached Drey and said, "Drey, I can't sleep. The presence of those zombies outside is keeping me awake... Do you want me to company you?"

Drey sympathized with Lana and replied, "I understand, Lana. It's not easy to rest with the threat around us. I'm doing my best to ensure everyone's safety. Also, you should take a rest, you have been through a lot."

Lana sighed and shared her concerns, "I'm just scared, Drey. It's hard to relax knowing that danger is right outside. I don't want to let my guard down... Also, I'm... No. We are sorry for letting you do the night watch despite saving us."

Drey reassured her, "I completely understand, Lana. It's natural to feel scared in this situation. Just remember, we're all here together, and we'll do everything we can to protect each other. If you need someone to talk to or any support, I'm here for you. Also, don't worry about it, I'm not that easily get tired and I'm glad I could help you guys."

Lana smiled appreciatively, finding comfort in Drey's words. "Thank you, Drey. Your presence and support mean a lot to me. To us."

Drey nodded and said, "You're welcome, Lana. We're a team, and we'll support each other through these challenges. If there's anything else on your mind or if you need anything, please don't hesitate to let me know."

After their conversation, Lana returned to her sleeping area to try and find some rest. Meanwhile, Aegis provided further information about enhanced drop rates.

Aegis said, "Drey, I should also mention that if you defeat Boss-type zombies, there's a higher chance of obtaining even rarer items. For example, futuristic weaponry or valuable equipment."

Drey's eyes widened with interest, "So if I take down those Boss-type zombies, I might find more advanced weapons than the Laser Sword and Pistol?"

Aegis confirmed, "Yes, Drey. The drop rates for rare items, including futuristic weaponry, increase significantly when defeating Boss-type zombies. It presents an opportunity to acquire valuable resources that could enhance our survival chances."

Drey nodded thoughtfully, considering the potential benefits. "I see. It might be worth taking on those tougher challenges if it means getting our hands on advanced weapons. Thanks for letting me know, Aegis."

Aegis replied, "You're welcome, Drey. I'm here to assist you in any way I can. If you have any further questions or need any information, feel free to ask."

With Lana now back to rest and armed with the knowledge of enhanced drop rates, Drey resumed his watchful position, keeping an eye out for both the red-eyed zombies and the possibility of obtaining valuable resources from boss-type zombies. The night continued, and Drey remained alert, prepared for whatever obstacles lay ahead.
