Chapter 7 - This can't be love, can it?

Her side of the story

"Gosh, you look gorgeous in that dress! It's a shame you didn't buy it." Cassidy was scrolling through her SM app, seeing a picture of Isabelle she uploaded on Monday.

She was wearing a yellow dress with red flowers, cutting right above her knees. She had a bright smile on her face, her curly red hair falling to her sides.

"I know! I spent all I had on those two Emily Jacobs' novels." Isabelle pouted.

"Maybe we can go again next Monday, so you can get it!" Cassidy stood up from the floor and threw herself over Isabelle's bed.

A knock on the door dragged their attention to the person opening the door. A tall, muscular guy with dark eyes and hair, his shoulders were broad and strong, matching his equally strong arms. His eyes moved from Cassidy to Isabelle and the other way around.

"So you're not saying hello after a fucking month we haven't seen each other?" His voice was very deep and masculine, but had a hint of soft and warm vibes in it. Both girls jumped up, squealing and running to where he was standing, arms open to receive them.

"You're here!" They both screamed at the same time, hugging him tightly.

"Yeah. My manager told me we could come back early, so I took the chance before he changed his mind." He dropped something like a gym bag, making a loud thud. "I even came here first to see you. I missed you guys."

"We missed you too, MJ." Isabelle was the last one to break the hug. She really missed him.

They chatted over about how his trip out of the country was. MJ was a basketball player studying at high school, but was so good he had already received a couple of contracts to be an official player in a couple of national basketball teams right after he graduates.

He and Isabelle have known each other since forever. They even bathed together as babies. And he lives next door. Later on, when she started school and met Cassidy, she introduced them too. Now the three of them are inseparable. They usually spend weekends or vacations together, and since MJ's and Isabelle's family are close, they spend holidays together too. People might even believe they are lovers.

Of course, Isabelle told him about what happened to Allen and how her first time was. He was shocked at first, since he believed she was all talk when she said she was going to propose the deal to him. To know she really did it, and it actually happened, made him choke on his grape-flavoured soda.

"But she ended up falling for him," Cassidy added. Isabelle hit her softly on her arm. MJ looked at her with concern tainting his black eyes, opening his mouth to say something.

"I'll be fine," She reassured them… and herself. "I just have a crush on him. He's pretty much perfect, after all." She giggled, making the room less tense. Both MJ and Cassidy smiled.

"That's true," Cassidy's eyes were now looking at the window. "He's like the hottest guy I know." MJ's eyes darted towards her. "After you, my love".

Isabelle laughed and hugged him tightly, then lifted her face to look at him.

"You'll always be the only one in our hearts. You know it, right?"

"I know you guys will find someone one day… But, even so, none of them will be close to being this perfect." He crooked a smile. He was a total hottie, and he knew it very well. The girls even got a chance to use his hotness to get some free tickets for a concert. Yeah, he played with a poor girl's heart, but in his defense, she owed it to him.

Actually, as far as Cassidy and Isabelle knew, that was not far from the truth. Besides how good he looked physically, he was very reliable and loyal. He never let his loved ones down, and if it was necessary, he would definitely kill someone for them; he was also very sweet and thoughtful as a person, always putting a smile on his face. A gentleman. A dream come true, they even say. Cassidy had a crush on him at the very beginning. She never admitted it, but it all vanished the moment he came out. Isabelle knew all along, of course, but he was still unsure whether to say anything to Cassidy at first. Now he is like an older brother to her too. If she had the chance, though, she would absolutely go for it.

His side of the story

"So? How did it go?" Kyle asked, pressing down the controller's buttons faster.

"Good, I guess." Allen replied, throwing his head up, since he had just lost the fight.

"I can see that. You're usually not this easy to beat." Kyle laughed and stood up to look out for some chips and cola. Then, he sat right in front of him. Allen shifted nervously on his spot.

"What?" He asked, annoyed.

"I don't know. You tell me!" Kyle opened the bag of chips and started eating them, looking at him straight in the eye.

Allen rolled his eyes, sighing.

"What do you want me to say, dude?" He let his voice roll up, exasperated. Kyle's green and shinning eyes made him look the other way around.

"How. The. Fuck. Did. It. Go? Am I speaking English? How is it so hard to answer?" Kyle rolled his eyes as he threw a chip into his mouth.

"Haven't we talked about this already?" Allen scoffed, but Kyle's face grew serious.

Kyle raised an eyebrow, "You mean when you told me you became ten-minutes-guy?" Allen squinted. "That's not telling shit, Al. Details. I want details."

Allen sighed again, clicking his tongue afterward. "I'm not sure, Kyle. I mean," Allen's voice came to a stop, his eyes landing on the floor as he was trying to find the words. "It was just… Nice.".

"OK?"

"It didn't go as I planned." He shrugged. "I thought that maybe she was going to back off or freak out, but she didn't." His face was inexpressive, yet his eyes moved from one side to the other, showing how his mind was struggling to speak. "She's sweet, actually." Allen nodded, memories from that day rushing back to his mind. "We talked for a couple of hours before falling asleep." He looked up, a hint of a smile on his lips. "She's actually kind of sensitive to cold. I had to tuck her in a few times because she was shivering."

Finally, his eyes landed on Kyle, who had now a poker face.

"What else, fuck, what?" Allen's frustration started to kick in. "I tried to make it something meaningful to her. I wanted to make her feel good, and I did. It felt nice spending that time with her." He touched his forehead, shrugging. "I don't know what else to tell you."

Kyle stopped eating, straightening his back as he faced Allen fully.

"Did you listen to yourself?" He asked, but Allen's silence made him continue. "I asked for details, and the first thing that came to mind was that she's sweet, you chatted a lot, and that you took the job of taking her virginity seriously?"

Allen remained silent for a couple of seconds. "Then what was it?" He asked.

"The usual, Al. If she's a natural at sucking dick, how tight she was or whatever other shit like that. Shit we've talked about before whenever we sleep around." Kyle was now smiling, trying to make his point.

"So?"

"So you've never used words like 'Sweet', 'Tuck in'… 'Meaningful'? What the actual fuck? I didn't even know that word was part of your vocabulary." His eyes were wide now, full of disbelief.

Allen leaned forward. "Can you cut the chase?"

"It looks to me that you're fucked, Al." Kyle stated. "You like this girl for real."
