The World Is Beautiful, But Why Have I Come Here?
A sigh escaped my lips as I gazed out of the car window. The clock showed 1 o'clock, yet the weather had turned chilly due to the sudden dimensional shift in Chicago.
Dimensions were unlike dungeons; they couldn't be conquered or cleared like towers or dungeons. They operated in an entirely different manner.
Dimensions could only be resolved by fulfilling the scenarios within them. But, I had no power, so this was currently beyond my concern. My first priority was to awaken.
Ordinarily, people awakened naturally, but there were artificial methods as well, such as consuming a mana stone. Mana stones were resources found in dungeons, used primarily to boost a hunter's mana. For a non-awakened person, consuming one had an 80% chance of instant death. Obtaining a mana stone was both costly and risky for many hunters.
"Ana, find me a mana stone," I requested.
I could see her face growing pale. "Why, master?"
Normally, servants didn't question their masters, but I understood her concern.
"I intend to consume it," I replied honestly.
She didn't say anything, but the tension in her expression was palpable.
"Also, make arrangements. I'm going to see Grandfather."
This time, her expression worsened. "Are you sure?"
"I wouldn't lie."
To some, it might seem like a regular grandson visiting his grandfather. But in our family, relationships were far from normal.
Jay Flynn, the current head of the Flynn house, was a Legend (L) ranked hunter, a figure respected and feared, even by the President of America. So, what did that make a mere grandson like me?
Lucas Flynn, who often engaged in wild and reckless behavior, would never meet his father on his own. So, why even inquire about this guy's grandfather?
"I understand. I'll make the preparations immediately after we return home."
"Very well."

Tok. Tok.
The crisp sound of footsteps. Long, graceful strides.
Indeed, an elegant and dignified presence.
I stood before a vintage car parked in the yard, admiring its classic design.
"Good day, Master."
This antique vehicle, a relic from the modern Ford era, symbolized wealth in this world.
The time was 6 o'clock. "Are we ready to go?"
"Yes, Master," Ana replied, taking a seat beside the driver. I settled into the back seat of the car my grandfather had sent, only to find a small companion already seated there.
"What is this?"
Hearing my question, the driver panicked and removed the tiny fellow from the seat.
"Huh, it's nothing, Master. Just a cat."
Ana placed the kitten beside her, and the driver started the car. About 30 minutes had passed since I had mentally prepared myself to face my grandfather.
"...?"
An intriguing sight caught my eye outside the car window, and I couldn't help but smile.
The outside world was bathed in the shimmering waves of light from the setting sun, creating a mesmerizing view.
A road adorned with vibrant flowers and trees led to an entrance featuring a statue of a stern-looking old man. He was Harry Flynn, the first head of the Flynn family.
Numerous buildings sprawled across the expansive estate, bathed in soft beams of light from the sky.
Collectively, this place was known as the "Main Mansion."
The car came to a halt in front of the entrance. I opened the door slowly and stepped out.
I entered the mansion, a structure some might mistake for a palace, and waited in the living area.
Anisely Lucas Flynn, the supposed trash. If anything could be said for certain, it was that he possessed an absurd amount of wealth. Despite his reckless behavior, he lived in a luxurious villa, owned multiple cars, and even had a B-rank servant at his disposal.
'I wish I wasn't fated to die.'
"Young Master Lucas, please follow me."
I rose from my seat, adjusted my attire, and followed the elderly butler.
The current head, Jay Flynn, had awakened as a hunter when dungeons and gates first appeared. The Flynn family faced a crisis as none of its members initially awakened.
That's when Jay Flynn, one of the many heirs of the Flynn house, took a risky step by consuming a mana stone and awakening as a hunter. Luckily, he acquired two S-class skills, making him an A-ranked hunter with the potential to become L-ranked.
At the age of 28, he defeated his uncle, the former head of the Flynn house, and assumed leadership. His son, Lucas's father, had no interest in inheriting the family head position, leading to a complex family dynamic.
Jay Flynn not only had the power to rival the other 11 families but also elevated the Flynn house into one of Ardell's top four powerhouses.
Hence, even someone like Lucas, despite his troublesome ways, had access to limitless wealth.
In no time, I found myself standing before his office.
"Enter alone."
His stern and authoritative tone echoed in my ears.
"You'll do great, Master."
Ana's face was the last thing I saw before I entered the devil's office.
