Aiden's lunch consisted of a stuffed sandwich and processed juice. Filling and with all the vitamins and nutrients necessary for everyday life! Or so the slogan said.
Despite the fact that the taste was not bad at all, the youth with the rebellious hair could not shake the idea that he was essentially eating glorified silicone and synthesized drugs masked with the pretence of genetically modified crops. Smart indoor farming, such practices were called now'o'days.
It was worrying how close they got to the real deal. It was some sort of eastern sandwich and juice of questionable origin; maybe it would have been better to take an energy drink, Aiden thought, at least then he would know what was behind the energetic feeling after taking it.
As part of his new routine, after finishing his sandwich, he would go to the drinkers to fill his stomach with water. These were Aiden's normal days, and he still had almost two weeks of that routine until his bank account sees a glimmer of hope.
He would not seek his parents' help out of pride, after all, he left home saying things like he would take responsibility and mature on his own in that city.
Never, Aiden, would have believed that after a relatively problem-free first year, he would now be knocking on the door of suffering due to lack of funds so often. Especially, to enter voluntarily and not the other way around.
While Aiden was daydreaming over the harsh future that was patiently waiting for him, everyone had finished eating. He was taking his time to enjoy his only meal until the nighttime, while the rest talked casually in the good atmosphere that, somehow, had been created.
—Huh?
Aiden caught a glimpse of the class delegate, Melody, whom everyone called by her surname, Blair, under her request because she didn't particularly like her name, but she was simply known as the delegate among classmates.
—Isn't that the delegate? —he said, taking another kitten bite.
Before Aiden could even finish swallowing, Louis had already stood up and was making a movement with both arms similar to that of a ground support giving signals to an airplane. Or at least that was the impression Louis gave to Aiden and Antonio.
—Over here, delegate! Yuju!! There are open seats here!
At first, she was taken aback, the innocent girl turned her head from side to side, Melody Blair didn't know where to look after being called so abruptly in the middle of the cafeteria.
She knew perfectly well whose outrageous voice was calling her, what she couldn't decide was whether to go where Louis was or ignore him. She could feel the gaze of hundreds of students inside one of the second-year buildings, all focused on her.
—Hahahaha! That's Louis for you. Come on, if you want to avoid calling in more attention the best thing is to sit down as soon as possible, Blair —said the girl who accompanied the delegate, grabbing her spasming stomach.
She radiated that essence, or sex appeal, that made boys thank God for the invention of uniforms. Her name is Lucille Pyll. Her features were beautiful and delicate like those of a fairy, she had jet-black hair all the way to her hips, so much so that it seemed to absorb light around it like a black hole; beautiful coffee-green eyes touching more of a honey feel than coffee, and a very slim figure that made a perfect combination with the uniform.
Every detail you noticed made her look better than before. For example, the shirt outside the skirt with the last button loose, the high black nylon stockings, the pink bow holding her perfect ponytail, and the watch the same color that matched.
Although in terms of popularity ranking both girls were tied, in that sense, Lucille stood out more, she was the perfect girl to appear on the school's website modeling her uniform.
But such nonsense as a beauty or popularity ranking didn't interest either of them. She had been Melody Blair's best friend since her first year in school when they met.
Here they were called…
—Here they are, here they are, Aiden! THE B.A.D!!
—Why are you so excited? If you always see them in…!! —Aiden was seized by impulse when he turned towards Louis, who was pointing with so much excitement, and his words were interrupted at that moment by his subconscious.
With an unmistakable expression—yes, one of a fool—Aiden watched as B.A.D. The 'British Angelic Duo' came directly towards them. The people in the surroundings became part of the background. Without shame or glory, he held the fool's expression while getting up, just like his eccentric friend, Louis.
One of those background characters, Saya, ignoring his foolish friends' uproar, could only think: "Who came up with that B-class Idol band acronym? Couldn't they put more effort into it?"
—I understand, I think the same way, but—commented another background character named Antonio—. Why are you so excited? You always see them in class, for God's sake. You're as rowdy as a puppy who doesn't like to be alone, and their owners always do exactly that.
Both Aiden and Louis, Antonio's words entered one ear and went out the other, and in Louis's case probably didn't even reach him, as he hastened to invite them in person.
Louis returned with the charming companions, Aiden turned to see Louis, both nodded their heads and said at the same time "B.A.D is justice!" while separating a couple of chairs from the table for the girls to sit down.
—Thanks, Louis, thanks, Aiden, for being… Pfff. —Lucille couldn't contain the pressure that arose from her stomach—. Gentlemen… Buahahaha. Really been real gentlemen, and remind me of my dear motherland.
The elegant young woman tried to do her part and say her lines with a serious and dignified expression, but couldn't help bursting into crude laughter. She never tired of the little foolish theater these fools put on.
