Moments later mother left the room, her eye was swollen with tears but her expression was back to normal at the very least.
My focus soon fall on Alexander, who was adjusting his monocle, after wiping the tears from his eyes, when I gaze upon him I ask him a question that was never answered.
"Brother you never did tell me how long I was out for."
"Oh. My bad, I was just so worried about you that I forgot to answer you when you first ask the question, don't fret though you have only been unconscious for two days, tomorrow being the third if haven't woken up."
"Two days ha, well that's all right I guess."
I said out loud to myself as I proceed, to get up from the bed.
"Yeah but don't you think you should rest some more, we don't know if you have any internal injuries or not, you did drop from a very high place you know."
Alexander said to me leaning against the wall, with his hand crossed.
Meanwhile, I began to stretch, as I engage deeper in the conversation about my well-being with Alexander, testing my body to see if I was injured anywhere, I highly doubt it though, Kthilla did say she was going to fix me up as good as new.
And she indeed kept her promise seeing that I didn't feel any physical anomalies at all. After confirming that this was the case I gaze at Alexander and said.
"See I'm good, to be honest, I feel better than I ever had."
Yes, this wasn't a lie, I felt way more flexible than I was before the fall, and when I said this Alexander looked at me with a suspicious gaze as he replies.
"Really?!"
"Yes. Really!"
As if not convince he came closer to me and looked me dead in the eye and ask.
"Are you sure?"
"Of course, I would never lie to you, brother."
Alexander still didn't look convinced in the slightest, however, he knew he couldn't stay on the topic for long, either way, he rub my head and said.
"...Tsk... Stupid little brother... Honestly, I take my eye off you for one minute and you fell right into a hole, just... Don't let us worry like this again ok, well anyways, I'm glad you are fine, I can leave reassured that you are alive."
"Leave, where too?!"
I asked out loud surprised by the revelation, of course, Alexander just turns his back on me as he took his grey trench coat off the rack along with his black top hat, and he slowly proceeds to put on his coat while answering me at the same time.
"Oh. Well, earlier today lady Hale invited me to eat with her at Aquidan in Jefferson town, of course, I replied I would come with her if I was available, I said this because we are taking shifts to aid you in your recovery, however seeing that you are well, I am going on a date with Lady Hale now."
"Jefferson town, isn't that like two villages over?"
"Yeah, but you know Lady hale is rolling in it, of course, I will offer my services if she is paying."
"I see, I guess that you are spending the overnight?"
"Yeah, I should be back by tomorrow afternoon."
"Hmmm. Well, do you enjoy yourself I guess?"
"Don't worry I will bring back a gift for you, then again this is a perfect opportunity to steal her car keys and get them copied at a local locksmith, but the main objective of this date was to act as a distraction; seeing that mother and Denzel where going to rob her house of its belongings tonight."
"I see, so it was a blessing that I got up early ha?"
I asked a little guilty, seeing that I almost ruin or set back the plan.
"Right on time if anything, but better late than never I say, but apart from that; I best be going now, she did say to meet her at the strike of the eight if I decide to come with her."
"Is that so, well what time is it anyway?"
At this question, Alexander took out his pocket watch, and showed it to me, upon reading it, I was notified that it was seven in the evening.
Moments later he places it back into his pocket and gave me one last smile while saying.
"I best be going now, it's not nice to keep a lady waiting."
With those words said Alexander open the door as he places his hat on his head and took his favorite cane off the table, and left to meet lady, Hale.
Of course not before saying.
"Oh. Yeah. Before I forget, they're some freshly made beans and cabbage on the table if you are feeling hungry."
"Yeah, well later big bro, have fun I guess."
I said while waving him goodbye, to which he raised his hand without turning around to say his farewell.
"Cheerios!"
And with that Alexander left for a night with the village baroness.
But with Alexander now gone, I was left in the room all by myself, meaning there was nobody to interrupt me, however, I felt rather dirty.
So with nothing to do, I grab the towel from the rack in my room and head outside to the bathhouse, of course before I could even bathe I need to fetch a bucket of water from the well in the basement.
"Well to the basement I go I guess, I believe mother is currently there since she spends most of her free time tuning her gun, torturing her victims, or making potions, and since she will be robbing baroness Hale manor tonight, that's most likely what she is doing."
So I headed to the bath house outside to get the wooden buckets, and moments later, I found myself in the basement and it was just as I thought.
Mother was sitting at her desk tuning her gun, the entire place was lit up with several different oil lamps in different directions of the basement, it still vaguely smelled of blood, but apart from that the smell was light at best.
And to my surprise, Denzel was also there, he was at the edge of the basement lying down in the gray hammock we stole from a passing merchant a year back.
His arms are tucked behind his head, and a book opens wide covering his face as a means to block the light out.
I began walking down the basement stairs but of course, the loud creaking noise caught the attention of mother as she stops what she was doing and look at me.
"Oh, Sherlock, are you sure it is a wise idea to be walking around?"
I gaze at her and replied as such.
"Like I said earlier before, I'm good, I just came for a bucket of water from the well, because I want to take a bath."
"No problem, help yourself."
She commented to me and went back to taking her gun apart polishing and cleaning the chambers and other parts of it.
With that said I walk down and proceed to place the bucket under the pipe, as I fill the bucket with water, it was slowly pouring but it got the job done, meanwhile, however, Mother Deliah began to ask me.
"I presume Alexander left for Jefferson with lady Hale and friends?"
"Ha... ahh Yeah. He said he will be back tomorrow afternoon."
I replied to her, to which she replied to me.
"Good- that means we can raid her house tonight at the first hour of the new day, although I will need a favor from you Sherlock if it's not too much to ask."
"And what might that be mother?"
"Do you think you can change both me and Denzel's appearances so we can break in under disguise?"
"Oh, you want to use my Phantoms Mask, sure no problem."
"Great we will come to see you when we prepare to leave."
Said mother who went silent afterward.
Meanwhile, I think to myself, about my abilities, Phantoms mask allows me to take or give the form of someone I kill myself or to someone else entirely to act as a disguise, but I guess it is useless now since my true face can never be revealed due to this weird power that makes people see me as the person they want to see the most.
But I can still use this power on others, so far I have twenty masks under my belt, five women of different ages, colors, and sizes, and fifteen men of different ages, colors, and sizes as well.
But either way, my bucket of water seems to be full to the max, so without delaying my bath any further, I began carrying it to the bathhouse.
Of course, I took a much-needed bath, and moments later I began to dress in the appropriate clothes, I wore a simple white shirt with long brown pants, but my eyes soon went to the mirror of the room.
And then I began to wonder, as I said out loud.
"If others see me differently, then what does my new form look like to me?"
