Chapter 27 - Get away from there!

The lead criminal made a sudden turn, abandoning his friends who were trapped and pleading for his help as they struggled to break free from the Jeep. Regret weighed heavily on his heart as he ran, muttering to himself, "Shit! This wasn't part of the damn contract..."

He glanced back, expecting the worst for his friends, but his attention was caught by a surprising sight: the gray Xynoin wasn't attacking the Jeep, but was instead headed straight for him.

Fear gripped him as he realized the gravity of the situation. "No fucking way. It's coming after me?!" The lead criminal's legs felt heavy as he struggled to run faster, but the Xynoin was closing in on him with each passing second.

The lead criminal stumbled to the ground, his body sliding along the rough concrete before coming to an abrupt stop in front of a rusted metal container.

"Damn it!" he exclaimed, clutching his ankle in pain as he realized he had sprained it in the fall. He propped himself up against the container, gasping for breath as he watched the Xynoin approach, blue lightning crackling along its body.

"Fucking hell… is this really how I'm going to go out?" He muttered, a weak smile flickering across his face. "Karma, I guess." He closed his eyes and rested his head against the cold metal, steeling himself for the end.

The Xynoin charged forward, a blur of gray and lightning. The lead criminal braced himself, waiting for the final blow. But to his surprise, the creature didn't attack him directly. Instead, it slid to a stop beside him, its left leg lifted high.

The criminal's eyes widened as the Xynoin brought its leg down with a thunderous crash, slamming into the ground with explosive force.

The air rippled and the ground shook as a massive surge of lightning energy pulsed outward from the impact point, enveloping everything in its path.

The container buckled and twisted, and the lead criminal was thrown into the air, his body flung like a rag doll as the force of the blast consumed him. In an instant, the world went dark, and all was silent.

"Yo, I have a visual on the Xynoin, 3 o'clock," Gabs announced while driving the jeep with Rose and Mira seated in the back.

The gray Xynoin stood in the center of the dust, surrounded by an army of soldiers on land and in the air, closing in on it.

"Shall we engage now?" Gabs asked, taking a sharp turn around the Xynoin's position to keep a visual on it.

"Am I the only one who thinks it looks different from the other Xynoins we've faced?" Rose questioned, peering outside the mirror for a better view of the creature.

"Regardless of how it looks, our orders are to eliminate the monster, and that's precisely what we'll do. So, step on it," Mira commanded, holding her sword at the ready for battle.

The Xynoin that was being surrounded by different Military groups and vehicles, gave out raging screams with lightning adding to its furiousness.

Looking around to see that it had been cornered, the Xynoin charged straight at the group of soldiers in front of it in a careless manner.

"Sergeant, it's coming this way!" A soldier holding a missile launcher alerted with his launcher aimed at the monster.

A voice suddenly came from the midst of the soldiers, "Quit your whining." The voice spoke and out came a man holding two swords in his hands.

He was dressed in the same military uniform everyone was wearing, the only difference was, both his sleeves were ripped off and his collar was flying.

"So this is the Xynoin everyone was panicking about? Talk about pathetic… although now that I take a good look at it, it does look unusual." The Sergeant commented, resting one of his swords on his soldier while the Xynoins charged at them.

"Sergeant Nao, please give me the order to fire this thing! It's getting close." The soldier holding the missile launcher cried out.

"Damn, you're dumb." Nao said with a sigh, "Wasn't the order to bring it alive… how are you going to do that if you…".

"Ha! It's moving faster!" The soldier exclaimed, his heart racing with fear as he saw the Xynoin closing in on them at an alarming pace.

He quickly aimed his weapon at the monster and fired the missile. The explosive projectile soared through the air, hurtling towards its target with deadly precision.

"Shit!" Nao muttered, watching with a pissed-off expression as the missile connected with the Xynoin, unleashing a massive explosion that engulfed the beast in flames and smoke.

The rest of the soldiers all began cheering as they watched the Xynoin get covered in flames with no sign of movement.

"You sick fuck!" Nao yelled, walking over to the soldier that fired the missile and grabbing him by the throat, "Why the fuck did you fire that missile, uhn?!"

"I…I panicked, I'm sorry." The soldiers immediately apologized, because he knew if he didn't, he could be a deadman.

The truck Mira and the rest of the squad suddenly packed at the scene. They all got down and walked toward Naofumi with their weapons in their hands.

Mira walked towards Sergeant Nao's position, her eyes scanning the area for any sign of the Xynoin. The explosion had been loud, and she hoped they had been successful in capturing it.

"Sergeant Nao, I heard the explosion. Did you capture the Xynoin?" she asked, her voice urgent with anticipation.

"Capture?" Nao repeated incredulously. He pushed the soldier next to him away, a look of frustration etched on his face. "This motherfucker blew it to bits... sick bastard."

"Now what? I'm sure Lieutenant Shinra was expecting it alive... Rrhh! What a drag," Nao grumbled.

Suddenly, Gabs interrupted their conversation with a question, holding up the missile launcher he had picked up from the ground. "Hold on, was this the missile launcher used?" he asked, looking at them both expectantly.

Nao returned the stare to the soldier he had just pushed, "Well is it?" He threw the question at the soldier.

"Y-Yes," The soldier replied with a shaky voice.

"Shit! Then it's not dead… this weapon doesn't have an XH2!" Gabs alerted them, before turning his gaze to the group of soldiers moving closer to the fire.

"Damn, it…. Get away from there!".
