The two Alderwolves ended up going too the playground.
Today seemed different, as the usual children who showed up had. It probably had to with it being a weekday. The two sat on a swing, sipping sodas while watching the little alderwolf play along with the other few kids.
"...my bet is that they've already put a bounty on your head." Klaus said.
"That came out of nowhere."
"When I joined the Inquisition, they did same. I think it was 50000 dollars or something higher. Seems like I was supposed to accept it as a badge of honor."
"Who did you I annoy."
"The fact that I'm an Inquisitor is enough. Trust me on that."
"Great." Blake sighed, finishing his drink. He crushed the can and tossed it in the can nearby. "That's so much better I suppose."
"Sure is."
"From what Brandon said, it seems like someone was trying to investigate his family."
"Ah yes." Klaus said, "That. Lot of money is spent on protecting Inquisition families and friends but it is never enough."
"So hence the Bad batch."
"Yep."
"My days aren't going to be healthy."
"You can walk away if you want."
"Nah I'll stay." Blake said.
Klaus stared at him.
"I can handle it. Promise."
"No. I'm not worried about that." Klaus said, "You've been having those dreams again."
Blake sighed. "Yeah. Their more livid now."
"What did you see this time."
"Same white-haired woman. Same smile. This time I saw some guy in an inquisitor robe with epaulettes. He seemed old. Way old. And scary. I could feel his aura. It was..."
"...suffocating?"
"Yeah. How did you..."
"There's only one Prime that ever wore epaulettes. He's dead."
"Ouch."
"Excuse me gentlemen."
The two Alderwolves turned to the raspy voice that was behind them. The noise from the children had stopped as they all stared at the tall hooded figure. Klaus stood up to face the figure, his aura rising.
"Get the children away, Blake."
"Yes. Please do." The figure said, removing his hood, revealing his mechanical visage. "This is a going to be a long conversation.}
Blake immediately obeyed, giving the the figure one last glance before going. Klaus and the figure stepped out, until they were standing toe to toe with each other.
"I thought the House of Ragnarok minded their own business." Klaus asked.
{Unfortunately, our assault on your organization has officially become our business.}
"Guess you've become much bolder as compared to last time."
{Well, I was restricted from carrying out certain instructions.}
A loud boom sounded from behind Klaus. The prime turned swiftly to see another person like the one in front of him, charging forward. Klaus kicked the one in front of him away, spinning swiftly and slashing the figure in half with his blood blades. He turned back to the first one and smashed his head in.
"A robot?" Klaus laughed. "Seriously?"
Klaus kicked its smashed head onto the road, just as Blake returned. He looked at the pile of the two robots, confused.
"Huh."
"We need to track the user of this robot. Can you do that?"
"I've tried. Not finding anyone."
"Great. Maybe it really was a robot..."
Klaus paused as he saw another robot crashed down from behind Blake and started charging at his son. Blake, seeing Klaus' reaction, turned swiftly and drew out his dagger. Just as he thought it was about ti clash with him, the robot passed him by and scratched Klaus in the arm. Immediately, the blood blades in Klaus's hands splattered, losing its form.
"What the..." Klaus exclaimed, taking a step back. Klaus could feel his licht energy being suppressed. By a robot nonetheless. Blake looked at his right arm and noticed the long scratch on it. He was also administered the same fate.
{Now then.} Xenon, the robot said {Shall we begin.}
"Huh?" Edgar said, putting the tablet down and sliding it back to its owner, "So let me get this straight. You attack my inquisitors, come all the way here and have the balls to show it to me, then you say…what exactly."
"That you give us Excalibur."
"My sword." Edgar laughed. "That's…that's really funny, actually. Haven't heard of a good joke in a long while. Nice one."
"That's our request. The lives of your inquisitors for one single blade" Gerald Tason said.
"And you expect me to stand by and allow it to happen?"
"Pretty much."
"I'm afraid that's not possible. You see, its mine. So…nope."
The masked figure stepped in front of Gerald. "This task is the task that we as the House of Ragnarok has set out to fulfill. However… I have a personal agenda with you, Prime Inquisitorius."
"Really. And what would that be?"
The Masked figure, The First, pointed his black javelin at him. "I came here to kill you."
Edgar looked at the man, taken aback. He broke into laughter, banging his hand on the long table.
"Well then." Edgar said, standing up, drawing out his sword from nowhere, "Shall we dance then?"
