Chapter 4
The cook had a pen in his hand and a sheet of paper where he was going to record what Bryan would eat. He knocked quietly on the door and waited for him to open it.
'What do you want tomorrow?' He removed the tip of the pen with his teeth and got ready to set the pen to work.
Bryan stared at the man in front of him, his eyes were changing colors. All he could see about the cook standing in front of him was blood. He could feel his fang getting longer, tried as much as he could to walk back inside but felt a force forcefully push him forward.
Within a second, he grabbed the man, pulling him by the neck and bent to bite him. He couldn't help himself, and found out to his dismay that he was enjoying it!
He dug dip into the arteries, sucked as much blood as he could before releasing him.
Manipulated already, the cook walked slowly back to the kitchen.
His phone rang, he reached for it in his pocket and picked the call.
'Tell the guards at the gate to let me in'. A voice bellowed at the other end.
'You came a little late'. He hissed and hung up.
He walked lazily to the sitting room, his foot made funny sounds as he walked.
A big man came in with a huge bag in his hand. He dropped it on the floor and grinned.
Bryan peeped into it and nodded, went inside with it, locking the door behind him.
With a sigh, he brought out dust from the bag and sniffed it. The result sent his head flying across the room. He grinned, at least it would keep his head away from some stuff for sometime.

'Let's play a game'. Someone suggested and got the attention of everyone in the class.
'Game?' Adrian dawdled.
'Yes. Truth and dare'.
'Not everyone is in class'. Bryan pointed out.
'That is cool. It would be more interesting!'
'Let's come together'. Someone said, clapping.
They soon sat down forming a circle.
They were eight in number. Someone rolled the bottle, it pointed to Adrian and Beth.
'Beth. You ask him'. Linda a white skinned girl said.
'Sure. Be prepared. Truth or dare?'
'Truth'. He said with a shrug.
'What do you like about me?'
The surprise on his face indicated how unprepared he was for the question.
'Everything about you'. He grinned widely.
'And why? She leaned forward to catch the expression on his face.
'We have rules here. You can only ask one question. If you think you want to know more, ask him after the game'. Lucy rolled the bottle.
'Beth and Pearl'.
'Truth or dare?' Beth asked excitedly.
'Dare'. She said the words before realizing it, she made a change but they would not allow her.
'Nice!' She clapped, a smile at the corner of her mouth.
'I dare you to…' she paused and stared around 'to kiss Bryan until he moan'.
A grasp escaped from Pearl's mouth. 'No, I can't do it'. She shook her head.
'Or be my servant for two hours'.
'That is preferable'. Pearl adjusted her sitting position.
The bottle was rolled again, this time it was Lilly's turn to ask Bryan.
'What is that thing you want badly?'
Everyone turned to look at him.
'To be a human'. He said calmly.
'You are really funny'. Lilly said and got all of them laughing.
The game continued until a teacher came in, they all went back to their seats.
A piece of paper found its way to Pearl, she opened it and frowned looking in Beth's direction.
'Excuse me'. Beth raised her hand to get the teacher's attention.
He came to her.
'Pearl wants to follow me somewhere'. She whispered into the teacher's ear.
'Sure. Pearl follows her'. He signaled with his hand.
'Just what do you think you are doing?' Pearl said as soon as they got out of the class.
'Servants shouldn't question their Master, it is unheard of'. She said carelessly.
'Where are we going?' She asked again.
'To the restroom'.
'Wait, should I also follow you?'
'Sure, as my servant, you should'.
'Damn it'. Pearl cursed under her breath.
There was a deadly silence until they get to the restroom. Beth gave her a warning look, should she plan to go without her.
She came out moments later, thrust a hair pin to Pearl.
'It is an honour. Making my hair for me should make you happy'.
'Your Highness'. She gave a mock bow.
'Do you really hate Bryan?' Beth stared at her reflection in the mirror in her hand.
'I have never hated anyone'.
'I thought you have feelings for him. Sorry for treating you in such a way'.
'No worries'. She wished she really had no feelings for him.
'So I can have my Bryan back to myself'. She hugged the mirror in her hand.
'Was I a threat to you?' She couldn't help but ask.
'Yes. I… er, I was worried he might - you know, cool guys have eyes for brown eyed girls'.
'It would never happen, at least not with me'. She wished she was telling the truth.
'What do you think? I want to change the color of my eyes to brown. Just like yours'. She watched Pearl's expression through the mirror.
Pearl was going to shout are you crazy, but stopped in time and smiled instead.
They were soon done with Beth's hair and went back to the class, lesson was over already, so also was Pearl's two hours of being a servant.
'How did you get home yesterday? I look for you all over the place'. Lilly strolled toward her as soon as she sat down.
'I ran home. Someone sucked blood'. Pearl sounded stupid, even to herself.
'That sounds absurd'. She laughed. 'You might have imagined it. Or…'
wide-eyed, she leaned toward Pearl. 'Do you by any chance drink?'
'No! Of course no, unless I want to be dragged home'.
'You must have been scared, sorry for leaving you alone'. She pouts.
'I guess you had fun'.
'Oh, I have something to tell you'. She moved closer to her and whispered into her ear.
The two giggled.
She stared at Bryan, pretending to listen to Lilly, something about him was off. Was it his head warmer? Or could it be the silver chain dangling on his neck? Her cheek was burning. Just what was happening to her?
Lilly tapped her, looked at her searchingly and whispered 'Are you okay?'
Just then Adrian walked up to Bryan and slapped him harshly on the face.
Everyone turned in their direction.
