Chapter 62 - Empathy Gone Bad

These palms cakes are salacious people, a hot delight for the cold morning. Dip in, dip in…"

Diana mustered, exploding from the kitchen door way with assortment of aromatic delicacies on a tray, a steaming coffee pot, and a jar of juice.

I could feel the instant tension building up among all three of us.

It exudes from Ruby into the surrounding air, spiral in the ether like flu. Diana felt it too and tensed.

For the second time since my return, I witness the change in her aura in the presence of Diana, like she wanted to pounce on the woman and rip out her throat.

We eat mostly in silence. Ruby sip more juice than she eats the cookies, but when she finally nipped into a roll of flexible palm cakes, charpatte, stuff with vegetable and roasted mutton, she moans delightfully.

"oh, this taste wonderful, Diana. Will someone pour me a cup of coffee?" Ruby address her question to me as I lift up the pot to fill her cup.

"thanks Ruby, I know you will like it. it's your dad's favorite. I made him some in the ships on most of our business tours." Diana answered lively, maybe a little too lively.

"I didn't know you two are that close" she stated innocently.

"oh, we are close enough Ruby. The man trusts no one."

"yet he trusts you enough to keep you closer. Closer enough to cook for him".

I was trying to catch on to these cyclical musings between the two women but didn't know where to place a thing.

" Your father made me who I am."

"the charpate tastes like he made it."

"yes, he thought me how to make it," Diana said in glowing smile.

"thanks for making me crash here the night before. In fact, that had been the plan, before I left the party. I found the atmosphere here elating for a goodnight rest."

"you are welcomed. But sorry you didn't have a goodnight rest. Mika told me you toss all night on bed… oh, I'm sorry Ruby," Diana said apologetically when she saw the embarrassed look on Ruby's face.

"it's just the nightmares, there are back, but I shall fight my way through," she said with uncertainty and swallowed ruminatively.

"you should try some of my chilled mash kenkey blend with banana and milk. it's in the clay pot, a fresh brew. It induces sleep," Diana suggested amicably.

"oh, nothing will quench my thirst, or make my mornings any better. A calabash of your homemade milky juice will do just fine" I replied beaming, knowing very well the woman is deliberately baiting me, for she knows how addicted I arm to her ingenious juices.

"sorry kuga, but this invitation is open to only Ruby. You know this juice is a girl thing," she answered giggling and I join in with a grin.

Ruby however, didn't seem to fine this funny. On the contrary, her face flashed as though she just received a palpable slap on the face.

I found myself thrown at sea in what seem like a subtle kind of warfare between the two women.

"why don't you bring the juice already Diana?". "give it a little while to chill in the clay pot."

Ruby was very quiet, her heard buried in her coffee cup perhaps a little too long. I knew my presence is probably the cause of the friction.

When she places the cup down on the table, and picked a fork and a knife to attack the chapatti, her knuckles went shakily pale under the pressure.

"Ruby dear, are you okay?" Diana asked with concern. Ruby nodded raising her eyes up a little, the color had turned almost yellow and the black round iris turned concave.

.

Good lord, my brain is probably playing tricks on me, it's those eyes again, on the mountain groves covered with blood.

Her body exude that nubile honey and earthly scent I know so well. She was furious, raging from within.

Perhaps, because of the hurtful innocent comment I made about the local juice, or envy at the familiar rapport Diana was taking advantage in establishing with me.

Diana seem to be enjoying this silent expression in my eyes for Ruby.

Ruby was trying very hard to hold herself back from something, an internal conflict that made her face contort.

what sort of game is Diana playing?

I slowed down my breathing, and try to empathize with the two women. And through their eyes I looked at my own position.

I felt cheap, the feeling was ghastly overwhelming, I thought I was going to puke. I found my energy in tatters, and my aura cloudy and shady, my being hesitant and lost....

"is everything alright kuga," Diana asked solemnly.

The two women now have their eyes locked on me curiously as though to fret out my very polluted essence.

No amount of shame could justify my guilt and self-loathing.

The horrifying sensation only intensifies, and I found my gullet contracting and relaxing, sparking a nauseating wave in the pit of my abdomen.

I stood up involuntary, a sudden movement that cause both women to look at me with furrowed eye brows and wrinkle expressions.

"what is the matter kuga." Diana asked again anxiously.

"I got to go ladies, my apologies…." I choked on my lousy escape statement as another wave of nausea hit him hard in the got.

' I took the steps two at a time towards the house, what is going on? Did I eat some allergy..,... Spooky?'.

"no Kuga, it's the accumulated influx of all the prurient slime you've gathered... from all the women"

And there is Mika too, in the room. I have been with her as well, feasted on her magnificent breasts.

I can claim I didn't have sex with her, but I did drink from her to the pitch of orgasmic madness in the vessel.

A thousand sexual scenes with the three women engulfed my mind as though I was doing it to all of them in the moment.

I crouch before the water closet to free myself of the vomit. I felt light headed when the last tremors left my body and I stood up on shaky legs feeling suddenly sick and forlorn.

I got my suit from the wardrobe and got into my shoes beside the bed. Diana might have brought it in from the pool area this morning.

I didn't bring a car. no I don't have one, not any more. I need a new car. I had brought Diana in her car the day before.

"wait kuga, its everything okay." Diana said meeting me head on around the doorway.

"no Diana. This is not me. I don't know how I ever got here," I said hesitantly.

"oh, you don't know how you got to my house now?" she retorts furiously, raising her voice a pitch too high.

"don't get me wrong, Diana. I take full responsibility for my actions. I just have to go, take care."

"okay, why not hang around, let's eat lunch before I drive you home."

"thanks Diana, but I have to go."

I stormed out into the midmorning sun, on the drive way, walking to the road side to pick a commercial car home.

"okay wait, I will drive you home, let me get my car keys," Diana said finally and turned to go but bumped into Ruby.

She locked eyes with Diana as she dangles her car keys.

"no need Diana, since I and kuga goes the same way. I will drop him off, thanks for your hospitality," Ruby said with a triumphant smile from behind Diana.

Diana open her mouth to speak but no words came. she opened and closed it a couple of times but still...,. no words came.
