Legend Nine
Lust potion number nine
OR
(What're you fucking gay bro?)
And just like that, the festival in the woods had packed up and moved on before the King could awake from his total knock out by the Queen of wolves. He had come to the very next morning as the sun shined down upon his face. He quickly discovered his party had built camp around his unconscious body and were all eating breakfast as Barric finally stirred awake.
He questioned them about everything that had happened and they filled him in. The Queen had left without a word to any of them and soon the party was all alone in the woods again.
That morning they finally resumed their travels, still making their way through the thick of the massive forest north of Sqwuck.
They did their best to keep along the path as previous deviations had proved to be a bit risky, if not interesting.
They walked sometimes in silence, sometimes Barric telling outrageous stories about his adventures with the women of Ol' Tameria, sometimes even the other party members telling stories of their pasts.
Eventually the sun began to set and the party looked for a good place to pause for the evening and set up camp. Just before they were about to settle in a little clearing off the side of the road, Quinn noticed something tucked away a bit further off the road. On further investigation it revealed itself to be a cabin, settled perfectly just off the road with a little dirt path leading right up to its front door.
It seemed a bit large to just be a hunting cabin so Barric knocked on the front door a few times to no answer. Eventually he shrugged and turned the handle to find it unlocked and the party slowly crept in, nervously looking about.
The cabin was simple enough on the inside. A living room, with a fireplace, couch, table, and rug. A bathroom, kitchen attached to the living room, and a single bedroom with a bed, night stand, and desk. Upon quick inspection the cabin was entirely empty of any other people and it seemed that no one had been there in quite a while.
"Well! Looks like we got the place to ourselves!" Barric said, looking through the kitchen for any sign of leftover food.
"Looks like no one's been here in a while…" Layla said as the others still looked about, finding it hard to believe the place was so bare.
"Maybe this is like, someone's seasonal hunting cabin or something…" Quinn commented out loud.
"Let's fucking go!" Barric said, just loud enough for the others to hear as he held up something he had just discovered. It was a bottle, a large one with what the King assumed must be some sort of liquor in it. Sure enough his suspicions were confirmed and the non demons of the party rejoiced as the other two just raised their eyebrows.
Eventually the party settled in the living room with Barric on the couch, Quinn sprawled across his lap, and Akahana on the other side. Layla had laid out her sleeping bag on the floor and was sitting on it, doing her best to read a book by the light of the fireplace that Sylas sat in front of. The demon poked at the fire and adjusted the logs with his bare hands as such things didn't affect him.
The King passed the bottle around so Layla and Quinn could partake happily. When he offered the bottle to the demons they both made a face and informed him of their disdain.
"I don't drink disgusting human poison." Sylas told him.
"It's going to take something far stronger than that to even get me buzzed." Akahana said, watching the catboy with narrowed eyes.
"Well, more for us then!" The King commented, as he kept the bottle in rotation until it was finally empty and the partakers were feeling far more relaxed after the day's journey.
They would continue on telling old stories, Barric's only growing more lewd after all the liquor.
After a bit of the stories, laughs, and the demons asking plenty of questions about the rest of the world, Quinn would roll off the King for a moment as he excused himself to the bathroom. The catboy returned soon enough, but on his way back he tripped on the rug in the living room, sending him sprawling out on the floor in front of everyone. All would giggle at this except for Sylas who raised an eyebrow.
The boy laid on the floor and moaned for a moment. He was usually quick on his feet and such a simple thing wouldn't have fazed him, but it was apparent that he had a bit too much to drink by now.
"Ugggh, what the fuck?" The cat moaned, looking back at the now slightly jostled carpet. "I tripped on hard." He said, as Barric giggled still.
"It's just a rug Quinn, you alright though?" He asked, peeking over the edge of the couch.
"Yea, but I swear I hit something!" The boy said, sitting up and looking towards the rug. Sylas was now standing over it and examined it for a moment before kicking the rug out of the way to reveal a metal ring, hooked in the floor.
"He wasn't lying..." Sylas said, staring down at the ring. The rest of the party all got up and started gathering around to look at the thing they had found. With the rug now moved the outline in the wood floor made it apparent they had found a trap door.
