The day dawned with a heavy weight on my shoulders, the revelation of Tiffany's pregnancy hanging over me like a dark cloud. I felt like I was drowning in a sea of uncertainty and despair, my mind consumed by thoughts of what could have been and what might lie ahead.
Dragging myself out of bed, I trudged to the bathroom, my steps heavy with exhaustion and defeat. The sound of the running water filled the room as I stepped into the shower, the steam enveloping me like a shroud as I sought solace in its warmth. I let the scalding water cascade over me, each drop a painful reminder of the turmoil raging within me.
Despite the heat, I welcomed the sensation, hoping that the steam would wash away the turmoil that threatened to consume me from within. I scrubbed at my skin with fervor, as if trying to cleanse myself of the chaos that had taken root in my life.
