The following morning Gabriel came back to the house. He was lost in thought. He looks down at his missing limb. How can he be so useless? He lost his arm and now is causing problems with Alessia. He brought the danger to her, and now she is at more risk than before. As he approached the door, he could hear voices coming from inside. He hesitated momentarily before slowly pushing the door open, his heart heavy with guilt.
Inside, he saw Alessia sitting at the table with Zagreus, their hands entwined. They looked up at Gabriel.
"Gabriel," Zagreus greeted him, his voice low and measured.
Alessia smiled at him tentatively, her eyes flickering over to his missing arm before returning to his face.
Gabriel felt his throat tighten as he took in their expressions. He knew his actions had put them in danger, and he couldn't shake the guilt that weighed heavily on his shoulders.
