Chereads / Innocent Bride Of The Evil Lord / Chapter 5 - He Has A Child

Chapter 5 - He Has A Child

"Where did she want to go?" asked Tyrone as the girl took her medicines and soon sleep took over her tired body.

But even in her sleep she was crying and mumbling that she needed to go home. Tyrone tried to ignore but her pained voice was making him restless.

She was the girl he had loved most. He loved her to the core of his heart. But.. she betrayed him! She betrayed him for some money and left him to die. Even now his whole body burns with anger and hatred whenever he thinks about that day.

He would have forgiven her even if she would have asked for his life. But she took the life of… he closed his eyes and gritted his teeth. How in the world was he still thinking about her!

She still looked as innocent as she used to. She had lost weight and the color of her skin had changed. Was that what they called retribution? But why was he not happy to see her suffering? Why was he annoyed as if it was his mistake when she was the one who sold them and left!

He held the glass tightly in his hands and drank the cold water in a gulp.

"I did not know, your highness. She was asking if she wanted to go home again and again but I think that was only an excuse to run away again. I am sure she had no one waiting for her at home." She was an orphan. The whole palace knew about this fact.

In the past they only loved and cared for her more thinking she would be upset thinking about her past but women like her did not deserve family. She did not understand the value of family. She had cheated them.

"Did she tell you where her home is?" Damien shook his head. He did not talk to her enough to be closer to her. He was afraid that she would spout more lies with that innocent face of hers that would weaken him.

"But I know where she lived. We had asked for her home address from the shop where she was working." Tyrone nodded, "but my lord, you should not go there. Only god knows it could be her another trick. What if assassins were waiting for you there?" he looked horrified with the thought of it but if it was about her, it was possible.

"Did she know that you were visiting her?" askd Tyrone with a cold look in his eyes when Dami shook his head but opened his mouth to rebut again. But when their eyes met, he bowed his head in obedience.

"Keep an eye on her. I will return soon."

"But my lord, at least take a few nights with you. You know that you can not…" he sighed as he knew that his words were gone unheard and ignored. He glared at the woman lying on the bed comfortably blaming her again for their condition.

Tyrone did not take the carriage but used his horse instead. But as he continued further, the frown on his face kept increasing and his gaze turned darker and darker.

The place where the address was a slum!! There were only muddy huts instead of roofed houses and roads. The path was full of mud and stones and he could see the weak and malnourished kids wearing torn and ragged clothes.

His eyes narrowed when he stopped in front of the door of her house. He had thought that she would be living the life of the riches after selling them. Why was she here, in this ragged place?

Was she betrayed too? The thought should have pleased him but he felt the strange tightening of his chest.

The door was not locked. He knocked on the door a few times when he heard the sound of footsteps from inside.

Soon a man with a little girl in her hands opened the door and looked at Tyron with confusion.

"Yes, how can I help you sir knight?" Tyrone felt that a cold bucket of water was splashed on his face as he stood there numb.

All these years he was suffering while the woman had married again and had a child too. His eyes moved from the man to the child and his eyes narrowed.

The young girl had green eyes just like her mother but her hair was dusty blonde like his not like the blonde like her mother or dark brown like the man!

"This child?" He tried to take the young girl from the man but the man frowned and held the girl tighter.

"What do you think you are trying to do sir knight?" he looked at Tyrone with a frown.

"Is she your child?" he asked blatantly when the man turned embarrassed. That one reaction was enough for Tyrone to confirm her doubts.

"She is Cassandra's child, right?" he asked again, this time more confident when the man frowned but nodded his head.

"Her mother is in the infirmary. She had sent me to bring her child but she did not tell me about you. Who are you?" Tyrone's voice turned cold instantly as he looked at the man harshly but the man did not seem to care.

"Oh! What happened to her? I told her to take a rest, she was not well but she did not listen to me. She never listened to anyone." He kept on fuming as he went in and then soon returned and locked the door.

"Where is she?" asked the man when Tyrone snapped.

"It doesn't matter where she is! A stranger should not visit her. So, I will ask again, who are you?"
