"Any chance you can tell me what the stuff in the bag is about?" Veltar asked as he looked to Jhinto, who was smiling at Joss' quick learning.
"I was not told what anything was for. There is a medicinal box in there for someone- I presume its you, as you seem to be aware of the practice. The Goddesses were not specific," he replied with a soft sigh.
"You mean Goddess, right? Goddess Luna," Jyriah corrected. He wasn't very verbal about it - but he was very devout, just as Syrana was.
"No, I do mean Goddesses. There are two of them. I won't get into it with you though, dear young one -I know how so many cling to the old ways," Jhinto said as though he knew Jyriah was going to explode in rage on him.
"Wait wait wait," Jyriah replied as he shook his paws in the air with a confused expression. "How do you know there are two?"
"They speak to me on occasion. They are the reason I knew to protect Metas, and to bring the package to you. I was well prepared to die to accomplish the task. I am lucky I did not the way I fell and the pressure I put on my heart," the old mage replied warmly.
"Woah. Are they mad that we only acknowledge one of them?" the young wolf asked on as though he were a child asking innocent questions to Santa Claus.
"Not at all. Ophelia and Lilith are quite benevolent. They don't require reverence. Most of the Firsts do not, really. Just a few are a little...demanding upon their kind, like Proteus. He demands his creation's obedience and sacrifices to keep his flock safe."
"Wow. So all of us have Gods?" Jyriah asked excitedly.
Jhinto just chuckled and answered him patiently. He had decades of experience as a teacher, and a lifetime of wisdom as a living soul, and enjoyed those excited to learn. "They're not exactly Gods. They're more of a guidance system. Not all of them have power. Our Goddesses do not have much. They're more a shepherd to our kind. Proteus and Aine are a bit different. They are a true God and Goddess. They've transcended past humanity and even helped create it. Don't bring that up, though. They don't like to be reminded of that."
"Holy shit. Do you have any books on those? Can I learn about this stuff?"
"Of course. Should Metas prevail, you will be welcome in my library, young wolf."
"Hey - not to be rude or anything, but I really want to go check out that medicine box. If there is anything that can help Myranda heal faster in there, I want to get my paws on it sooner than later. I don't think we have much time to sit on our asses for much longer," Veltar piped in, and in true canine fashion, stood, shook his body, and headed towards the entrance.
"Not rude at all, you're doing your job" Jhinto said with a smile.
"Yeah, yeah - go save Mandy for sure," Jyirah added with a grin.
"She's going to murder you eventually if you keep using the name Metas gave to her. She doesn't seem like the little pup I knew," the alchemist warned and shook his head. "Also, if Jess wakes up, send her to my workspace. She's going to be upset that I wasn't at her side when she does wake up," he added.
"Sure, sure. No problem," Jyriah replied and waved off the shaggy-haired male's advice.
*****************************
Veltar was floored to see that Myranda had not rolled around again, and was in the same position she had been in when he left - tucked into Metas' side like a comforting toy. He blinked and shook his head as though something so simple shouldn't have worked.
She was still pale, though. He didn't like that the blueish hue to her lips had only subsided so much. However, he had hope there was something in that little pouch to treat her illness. For whatever reason, he felt as though the Goddess...es?.. were on her side, and Metas' to boot.
He pulled out the remaining items, including two letters addressed to Lara and Ajax. He would deliver them later. They weren't as important as the medication that their Luna needed.
"Alright, let's see here..." he muttered to himself as he rummaged through the rest of the pack. The satchel inside of the pack was what caught his eyes first, but due to how light it was he dismissed it immediately.
Instead, he opened the box and looked through the vials of herbs, liquids - and something beautiful in an ornate glass that had a tag on it that read, 'Silver Neutralizer'. He gasped and quickly looked around the tag for instructions, but it had been rubbed off from age.
"That's fine, I'll ask Jhinto..." he muttered to himself as he thought outloud.
In his haste to turn around, he knocked that satchel from his work desk and even though it was inside of a container, the moment that it hit the ground, a small poof of something purple and hazy popped out of the top of small cinched opening and caught him in the nose as in reflex, he went with it to catch it.
His pupils quickly dilated and his heart started to race. The blood from his head seemed to travel to his chest, and then to his lower regions where he suddenly felt the urge to find Jess and beg for her to lay with him.
"Wh-what the actual...?" Veltar grunted and tried to snuff out the small amount of substance that he had inhaled, but it did nothing as his nose started to burn from agitation.
"ahg," he let out in agony and rubbed his snout vigorously.
It did nothing but left his nose pulsing, and his eyes watering. He needed to either find Jess, or help himself out. Being that it felt rather trashy to wake up his newly-met partner to help relieve his stress, he left the alcove of the cave to find a private spot.
Part of him wanted to ask why that was there, but the other part didn't want to know.
Right not, he didn't care - he just needed to resolve his issue, and he knew of a good secluded spot in the woods, and that weird creature Metas had allowed to live in their forest wouldn't be out since it was daytime.
It was a perfect plan - and for the first time, he would find things going his way today. As soon as he found a dense thicket of greenery, he sank into it and even though he was still on all fours, he hunched down and reached in between his legs to grasp his member as tightly as comfortably possible, and started to desperately push and pull his cock's skin back and forth.
The thought of Jess entered his mind, and how badly he wanted to make her his own - to make him her own. The fantasy helped him keep up the rapid pace he started with, and at the thought of kissing her and pressing her breasts to his skin his urge increased.
Even though it had only been a minute or so, he felt as though the satisfaction he was looking for was taking far too long to reach.
To enhance his 'immersion' he started to grunt out his mate's name and shut his eyes so he could better imagine her below him, and at the very thought of gracing her flesh with his seed, finally he was able to release himself onto the grass below in a silent 'shame'.
Whatever that stuff was, he never wanted to touch it again.
