Chapter 130 - With A Little Help From My Friends

"Why are we doing this? We need to help dig the west corridor..." Myranda half-complained as Jess and Lara combed her freshly washed hair.

"You need a break is what you need. You haven't stopped a single second. Your hair has become matted and gross from dancing in the dirt with Metas, and you need a little pampering. All girls need pampering, Myri" Lara replied happily as she worked from the bottom of her strands and worked up slowly as to not pull her hair into tighter knots.

"...Did Metas complain about the way I looked or something?" Myranda asked warily and looked to Jessie as though Lara wouldn't actually tell her the truth.

"No. Lara and I decided you needed a nice girl night, and plus I wanted to smell this shampoo you brought with you... It's amazing~" Jess replied and let out a beautiful sigh.

"Syrana gave it to me.... You two can use some if you'd like, but only you two" Myranda replied with a warm smile. "She'd have loved both of you," she added and started to tear up and choke on her words.

"Oh, no... We couldn't use something so precious," Jess answered for the two of them, but Lara gave her sad eyes over Myranda's head, as she really really wanted to try that shampoo.

It smelled so good - like fresh peaches and something daintily floral - she couldn't place it, but it mellowed out the 'tartness' of the peach and made it smell like a warm hug on a sunny day. From what Lara could tell, it was exceedingly high-end. She didn't even have access to something like this. It literally made Myranda's hair shiny and easily untangled it with just one wash. She even /swore/ her hair repaired as though it were 'reversing' back in time. It had to have been magical.

Ahg, what Lara wouldn't give to try it just once...

Myranda could hear Snow screaming inside at Jessie's answer to her offer, and she looked to her with wet eyes, but a sweet smile. "Lara, you've gotta try it. I refuse to let you not. It was thanks to you that I even got to see Syrana again - and Jessie, you kept Syri safe and out of harm's way. If you don't use a little, I'll be really offended," Myranda half-lied, but honestly she wanted to share as much of her sister with others.

The last thing she wanted was for Syrana to die entirely. She'd keep her legacy going with every day of her life through her actions. There was no way she wasn't going to reward these two ladies with any and everything she had, because her sister would have absolutely made sure they felt special for the rest of their days.

"My Luna, it's really not necessary," Jessie insisted.

"Hey. Don't call me that. We're friends, and basically sisters. Don't call me Luna when we're alone. Myranda or Myri is fine. Take Lara's lead - it feels awkward to have you do that to me. First of all, I'm not really the Luna, not yet. Secondly, we're equals. I don't see anyone working any less harder than the other. As long as we're in polite company, I'm Myranda. Okay?" She really wanted to make sure that line was drawn. They were all in this together, and to pretend they weren't would be insulting and just disgusting in general.

"Thanks, Myranda...and you are our Luna. I will comply with your request, though. I like that you feel that way. Too many times you see wolves let that stuff go to their heads," Jess replied with a smile.

"Sooo you're going to use a little bit of that shampoo, right?" Myranda led with a trill in her words.

"If you insist. It is pretty fantastic on my skin, so it must be magical for hair," Jess replied with a smile, but it was still awkward to use something so precious from her Queen and pack-sister.

"I do."

"I'm not going to lie, I'm excited - and thank you thank you thank you," Lara said with a sing-songy voice. "It smells so good, and your hair is like strands of silk~" Lara replied happily.

Myranda loved how real Lara was. She was always to the point, honest, and didn't give one single fuck about what anyone thought of her. In fact, much like her sister - Lara was a huge influence on her. To be surrounded in strength had made her so much more capable than she had ever realized.

"Good. With all this gloom, we need something to be excited about. Metas and I get to take a little stroll tonight, and I'm really looking forward to it. We haven't had just a -walk- in so long. It's all been business or sadness," Myranda sighed out with a bit of relief.

"That reminds me, can we maybe braid your hair and put some flowers in it? Metas would love that," Lara said and bit her lower lip as she struggled to keep the secret the had been hiding all day.

"I'm sure Metas would like you however you looked -- but I agree with her. The flowers in the hair would be just...ethereal. Let us do it, you won't regret it," Jessie said with persuasion.

"Okay, fine....I would like to surprise him on some level. He seems to like even the smallest surprise, and I love that about him. I love so much about him..." Myranda said warmly as her stomach filled with butterflies.

Lara really wanted to give her a hard time about the way she and Metas first met, but the white haired beauty left her lips closed and curved into a smile.

"Well, what do you think, huh?" Ajax asked with a little too much excitement.

"How...?" Metas asked as his gold eyes scanned the small clearing.

"I told you, I have my ways" Ajax replied easily as he smiled in pride with his work.

He had found some time in the early evening to find a small space with high bushes between a small thicket of trees that grew nearby one another. The sly silver wolf had cleared out a lot of debris, found some soft, sweetly scented flowers and grass, and made a beautiful (and very scented) pallet for them to lay upon.

Ajax had even taken the liberty to make it in the shape of a heart, and it made Metas want to face-palm, but being that his friend seemed to be a master of romance, he didn't question it. The worst that could happen is the two of them laughing about it before melting into thousands of kisses.

"Damn. Ajax, I owe you two favors at this point. Whatever you want - name it. It's going to be a full moon tonight, and I'm going to ask her to be my wife. We don't need ceremonies. I need her to be mine before I go insane," Metas replied with awe at the wonderful set-up his best friend set up for him.

"Hey. You two are running a fucking revolution. I think you both deserve to have your time as mates that you've been denied from day one. We kind of crashed your cave literally after you two moved into it. I'm a guy, I get it - and by now I'd be pissed off to not have been able to lay with my mate," Ajax replied honestly.

"Thanks for saying it. I really wanted to murder Veltar the other day. I know he was following orders, but I still wanted to have our time together. You have no idea how hot she is. Her appetite is quite voracious, and I am not complaining" Metas said with a grin.

"Don't tell her I said that," he added quickly.

"Hah. Never. Trust me, Lara's more naughty than it seems for someone so ladylike and beautiful. She's amazing in bed," Ajax spoke as though he were thinking fondly of one of their rendezvous.

"Now we just have to lure her here...and we'll be far enough away to not hear much, but we will need to keep a guard up. I mean - they're willing to use human weapons. If they found you naked and defenseless with Myranda, it's all over. Just being honest...so, keep that in mind," Ajax explained in hopes somehow Metas could keep Myranda from crying his name too loudly. If she was anything like Lara, though - that would be near impossible.

"I get your hint. If you hear anything, you didn't hear anything, yes?" Metas replied sternly.

"Absolutely. It will be a completely silent night," Ajax replied with a wink, which caused Metas to let out a soft laugh.

This wouldn't be possible had it not been for his best friends. He was very lucky, and he didn't forget to be thankful about that, even if at the moment it was a silent prayer of thanks to the Goddess.
