In the elite provinces,
In Dwet city, on 14th Street, a young teenager with brown hair and a mature physique due to intense training in his uniform decided to take a detour through the back streets. He was terrified after encountering numerous Daemons on the main street.
Daemons were literally everywhere...
A shop baker utilized his Daemon, known as the Red Fluff Fire Spirit, to enhance his cooking. It explained why his food was cooked quickly and tasted delicious, no exaggeration.
My entire life has been a lie.
And that's not all...
The elderly lady down the street, to whom I always offered assistance in crossing, always refused because her Daemon was already aiding her all along...
Thankfully, I never had any thoughts of stealing her bag or anything... Just the thought of it makes Cain shudder.
And then there's the muscular carpenter next to the tea shop... How can a Daemon have so much strength and two extra arms?
Well, I think I've seen enough for today.
I'd rather take the back streets than continue witnessing such frightening beings lurking right beside me.
Having made up his mind, Cain swiftly put his decision into action...
Although he might return home a bit late, it would be worth it.
Cain took a few turns and walked a bit further.
"Is that blood?" Cain halted, squatting down to examine it.
"Yes, it's definitely blood, but whose?" he wondered.
"Someone is in danger. I must go and save them..."
Wait a minute, how can I be sure I'm not walking into something... *cough* *cough*...
Well, if it's something I can help with, I'll lend a hand. But if it's beyond my capabilities, I'll test how fast my legs can carry me home.
After sorting out his thoughts and making a decision, he silently followed the trail of blood, inching closer and closer...
"Is that a body?" Cain thought, looking around to ensure no one was nearby.
"Are you okay, sir?" he whispered, gently lifting the person to face him, only to discover it was a woman.
She was so beautiful, with soft, baby-like skin that glowed gently in the moonlight, reflecting her jade complexion.
She's stunning, Cain couldn't take his eyes off her...
"Ahhh...hhh," the lady winced in pain as someone lifted her.
Feeling a presence, she turned to face the person...
And there stood a handsome teenager. She instantly knew she had to entrust IT to him.
"I... need your help," she said, her words slow and painful.
"Stop talking. I'll take you to the hospital," Cain declared, unable to leave her in such a condition.
"I... don't... think... I can make it there."
"Here... you might be the chosen one... take this and run," she stated, retrieving a jet-black cube-like object from an unknown location.
"Forget about it... you're bleeding profusely," Cain urged, concerned that any movement she made would reopen her wound. Bluish-violet energy surrounded the wound, visibly attempting to heal her.
"But... there's no more... time... hurry and take this with you..."
"They might... arrive any... moment now, and they won't spare any of us," the lady said, forcing the cube into his hands and giving him a slight push.
To her, it was just a light push...
But to Cain... it was far from gentle...
Cain was still shocked by the strength behind that push, especially considering she was taking her last breaths...
"Now, go... run away... don't let us die in vain..."
As Cain recovered from his shock, he dashed toward a random exit. But before
leaving, he looked back and saw a tear streaming down her cheek as she murmured a few words...
Words he knew all too well the meaning of...
As he continued running, he made a vow to himself to grow strong enough to never again run away and leave someone behind.
As he made that vow, the mysterious cube pricked his finger, and as his drop of blood trickled into it...
The lady adjusted her posture, unable to resist a smile at the retreating figure.
"I hope he's worthy... only time will tell..."
-----
"The moon is truly beautiful... why don't we spend eternity gazing at it?" the lady said to herself, thirty minutes after Cain had fled.
"Where is the cube, Betty? You only have a few minutes left to live," a deep, menacing voice mockingly spoke, referring to the lady who stood at death's door.
"Hahahaha, O Lugard... I can't believe I fell for your cheap tricks... a wrong choice I made by trusting you, calling a monster like you a friend," Betty retorted as a man tore through space, emerging wearing a black outfit and a black cloak adorned with skull motifs. He approached the injured Betty.
"Stop with the praises Betty, you are one step away from hell... So, why don't you just give the cube to me"
"Well, I no longer possess it, and neither will you, Lugard," declared Betty as she suddenly activated a totem, enveloping them in a light-blue barrier. She momentarily ignited her Daemon core.
"What... are you doing? You want to kill us both!" the man exclaimed furiously, attempting to break free from the barrier.
But could Betty allow that? Absolutely not...
"That was the plan. I can't leave without taking you with me," she replied, wearing a smile.
As she glanced at where Cain had run off to, she smiled and thought,
What a brave and handsome young man... She sighed with pity.
This is where my chapter ends...
My mission is complete...
And then, she exploded, taking the mysterious man with her...
With no more vint energy to sustain the barrier, it shrank and vanished, leaving no trace of either of them...
In a gloomy, pitch-black underground lair, a far distance away from Cain's current position...
*Ptui*
Lugard spat out blood from his lips due to the backlash of his destroyed clone, arcing his back to support his sudden reaction...
"Hahahahahaha"...
"She truly tried to take me down with her... What a dangerous woman, even on her deathbed," the mysterious man remarked mockingly.
As he collected himself, Lugard marveled at the resilience of the woman who had challenged him. He couldn't help but chuckle at the thought of her daring, even at the brink of death. Her demise had only reinforced his conviction that the ultimate form lay within reach. Through the existence of Daemons, Lugard believed he could attain unrivaled power and ascend to a realm of perfection.
With a sinister grin etched upon his face, Lugard vanished into the pool of blood, disappearing from sight. The dark liquid enveloped him, obscuring his malevolent presence within its depths. In this mysterious sanctuary, he would recuperate and strategize his next move, ever determined to acquire the enigmatic cube that had eluded him.
Deep within the confines of the underground lair, Lugard's laughter reverberated, hinting at the sinister plans he had yet to unveil. As time ticked away, the wheels of destiny turned, setting the stage for an enigmatic and treacherous journey that would shape the fate of the Elitines provinces and all those entangled in its web.
Little did Cain know, the moment he embraced the mysterious cube, he had unwittingly become a central figure in a clandestine battle between forces far greater than he could fathom. As he pressed forward on his path to strength, the secrets of the cube and its true purpose remained shrouded in darkness, waiting to be unraveled by a worthy and courageous soul.
The moon continued to cast its ethereal glow upon the world, revealing mere fragments of the hidden truths and the daunting challenges that lay ahead. The Elitines provinces, oblivious to the impending storm, carried on their daily affairs, unaware of the sinister forces lurking in the shadows.
Unbeknownst to them all, the threads of fate were slowly converging, weaving a tapestry of mystery, power, and sacrifice. In this realm of Daemons and untold possibilities, a destined confrontation loomed on the horizon, where the strength of one individual could tip the scales in favor of either salvation or doom.
As the moon held its celestial vigil, it whispered its secrets to the night, awaiting the day when the chosen one would emerge and unveil the destiny that awaited them all. In the heart of darkness, the echoes of a nameless prophecy stirred
