Fred opened his eyes. In front of him was the back of an armour clad man. The tufts of hair on his head were exposed and his helmet removed. His hair was a deep black, messy with different follicles sticking all over the place.
He turned to Fred, his deep grey eyes making direct eye contact. Fred was to afraid to move just letting him stare. ~Will he kill me if i say something?~ There were very few men of his height.
Fred saw the body of the dragon over Rodrigos shoulder. Gashes were cut into its ribs.
This man was someone who could single handedly slay monsters of unrealistic power.
"You know. Once you kill enough people you kind of get a sight for things." Said the man, his eyes never leaving Fred's. "You can see past all the lies into the. GUT! Of the person's existence. Whenever I look at their core I see the same thing. A marble sitting atop a throne of lies. I could never describe the sight of a lie. But I can feel it when I see it."
The man leaned closer his face practically touching Fred's. "You know one pattern i've noticed is that the throne is always roughly proportional to the soul. But for you. I don't see that. Your soul rests on a throne that had to have been made for a giant. When that marble is about the size of the tip of my finger. But it doesn't stop there. Engraved onto this marble are three words. Pauper. In a circle around the top. Deathless. Around the bottom. And OATH HOLDER in the middle."
The man's grin widened as he drew his face closer to Fred. "But it doesn't stop there. Because there is not just a throne of lies. I see a whole world. People farm. Children get sick. Exchanges of goods occur. A whole simulated reality built from these lies. And you know what's most scary."
The man grabbed Fred by either cheek touching his forehead to his. ~This is making me really uncomfortable right now. Is he going to threaten to kill me unless I pleasure him?~
"What's the most scary is that most of the time. People are running from something. A hulking goliath roams this world of lies. Crushing its inhabitants under its feet." The man suddenly shot to his feet.
"Now ordinarily I would kill a being as unnatural as you." Rodrigo reached for his sword. While looking right into Fred's eyes. He's going to kill me. Fred pulled himself to his feet Getting ready to run.
Rodrigo moved his had away from the sword. Fred calmed slightly. "But the marble doesn't lie. When a normal man's eyes would grow teary with grief at the threat of death from a superior opponent. Your eyes dilate and your posture tenses. As if you're about to be tortured." He gave Fred a winning smile. "So you have nothing to fear from me!" ~So he's not going to kill me.~
"Haaaaa. That's a relief."
"Yup." Rodrigo nodded. There was a silence in which Fred looked around examining his surroundings. He was in a dark stone room with a stone roof and stone floors.
In the corner of this room there were piles of gravestones. Next to that occupying the rest of that room was an armoury filled with different suits of armour and weapons. Battle axes, swords, flails and many other weapons none of them were long range though.
All of them designed to be used up close. On the other side of the cell there was a variety of weights stacked in a pile on top of each other. As well as a bed and a privy. "You like my room." He walked over to the metal bars that kept his 'room' enclosed.
"They call it a cell but…" He grabbed one of the bars. Squeezing it so tightly that the imprint of his hand was pressed into the bar. "I can get out whenever I want." Said Rodrigo. Fred's eyes widened as he clenched his teeth. ~I need to make sure this guy likes me. Because if he wanted to kill me it would be as easy as swatting a fly.~
Fred looked at Rodrigo with a wide forced smile.
"WOW! That's really coooooooool!" Said Fred, Rodrigo frowned at Fred.
"Don't try to suck up to me just because I'm strong. You're the immortal one not me. By your logic I should suck up to you because all you would have to do is keep on attacking me until I get worn down." Said Rodrigo. ~What does he mean. Immortal?~ "Anyways." The man with messy hair said. "You woke up at a good time. They're about to bring me dinner. They should be here abooooooooout, now!"
"I don't get why they would give one prisoner so much food." The voice echoed throughout the hallway as a man appeared within Fred's vision. He wore the murders garb, his face was marked with a heavy scowl. Fred had no time to process any more details. His face went pale and his lips turned blue.
~RUNRUNRUNRUNRUNRUNRUNRUN.~ Fred glanced around looking for a direction of retreat, there was none. To his left was a wall made from stone.
To his right was also a wall made from stone. In front of him was metal bars that he could not slip through.
Behind him. Was a wall made from stone. Above him was... A ceiling made from stone.
He was blanketed by immovable stones. Fred began to shake. He could not fight.
The guard had a sword on him and even though Fred could reach through the bars the guard could just dart back and cut Fred from a distance.
He couldn't grab the weapons that Rodrigo used because they were too heavy. Each being at least four feet long and made from purely metal. Fred dashed to the corner of the cell as the guard looked at him in confusion.
"What is he doing there? There aren't supposed to be two people in this cell." Said the guard. ~??????!!!!!!!?????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!????????!!!!!!!!!!!!|||||||\||\\\\\||\\\\?///////~
Fred's mind fractured into vague size-based calculations. He would be the hardest to hit if he hid in the left corner of the room in a fetal position. Fred practically jumped to the corner. He slid with his back on the wall into the fetal position.
~!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!??!?!!?!?!?!?!?!??!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!~ There was nothing in Fred's mind but confusion and fear. As he sat there in the corner covered in dread his eyes darting around ready for a threat.
~Please don't kill me. Please don't kill me. Please don't kill me! Please don't...…~The guard looked directly at Fred. His eyes were dark. "Why are you hiding in the corner?....."
Said the guard. Fred Stared at the ground. As the guard glared at him. HIs throat twitched with irritation. "HEY DRUNKARD! WHY ARE YOU IN THE WRONG CELL!" Drunkard. The word that the killer thought him the definition of. Drunkard. Memories flooded Fred.
"Listen buddy I've decided that he'll be here now okay." Said Rodrigo. Fred did not hear this though. The sensation of your skin being invaded by your own urine. causing each layer to float apart from each other. The man standing above you, sword in hand, face cloaked by vindictive rage.
This idea darted through his mind over and over again. As he was torn between two Forces. To run, Or to fight. Over and over again he was asked this question. Run or fight? Run or fight? ~Can't run. Walls. Can't fight. Walls.~ his eyes began to twitch as the world spun
"You don't get to decide that, you prisoner!" Snapped the guard. Fred collapsed his face smashing into the floor. Flight or run. No Freeze. Become like ice and stop.
"I can decide that! Or do you want me to make this city my next training day! Also bring him some food! I'm not the only one that needs to eat!"
"You uppity little bastard." The guard began to draw his sword. Ignorant to the unconscious Fred in the background.
A tall man with chocolate brown skin darted onto the scene. He swung his arm around the guard's shoulder.
"Listen buddy. You should be glad that master Rodrigo did not kill you for your
impudence. Go get the kid some food."
