A horror what?!!!!
Pei Xingcheng's body froze in fear, his legs shaking uncontrollably as he struggled to maintain his composure. Thanks to the dim lighting of the hallway, his agent was unable to see the fear on his face or his trembling legs.
Meanwhile, his agent, Tang Qin, continued to speak, oblivious to his fear or state of mind. He continued, "There are several stories about this mansion circulating on the internet. Some say that once a very famous actress lived and died in this very mansion. They say she committed suicide or something like that."
"Hence, this mansion is very famous for being haunted by her. Some have even said to see her ghost roaming around this mansion or crying at night."
Pei Xingcheng(immediately looking around himself): "..."
"H-her ghost?!" he shuttered.
Tang Qin laughed. "Yes, can you believe it? Ghost? Do they even exit?"
Pei Xingcheng nodded immediately.
Yes, yes, ghosts are real. He has one living right in his house.
Talking about that ghost, where is his little miss ghost?
Pei Xingcheng frantically searched the hallway, his eyes scanning every nook and corner, trying to spot Miss Ghost. His heart was racing, and his mind was in turmoil. He didn't want to admit it, but he was scared.
But then, he recalled how badly he had behaved with her in the car. He had asked her to stay away from him, and now he was regretting it deeply. He felt like crying, but no tears came out.
Meanwhile, Tang Qin continued to talk passionately about the mansion being haunted by this female ghost and shared several stories circulating about his mansion over the internet. He expressed how excited he was to stay here and meet this ghost, if it was even real in the first place.
He continued to talk on and on about this ghost, and when he got no reply from Pei Xingcheng, he paused. It was only then that Tang Qin noticed that Pei Xingcheng was not listening to him. He turned around to see Pei Xingcheng looking around as if he was searching for something.
"Xingcheng, what are you looking for?" he asked.
Pei Xingcheng answered absentmindedly, "Miss Ghost." Then, realizing what he had said, he quickly corrected himself, "I mean, I am looking for the ghost that is said to be living in the mansion."
"Pfft..... this is just a rumor, Xingcheng," his agent chuckled. "I don't believe that there is actually a ghost living in this mansion."
"But what if there is?" Pei Xingcheng asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
"Then I would like to meet her," his agent said with a wide grin on his face and his eyes full of wild excitement.
"W-what?" Pei Xingcheng was taken aback.
The idea of meeting a ghost was enough to send shivers down his spine. Who in their right mind would want to meet a ghost? Not him, definitely not him!!!!
"Maybe I would even offer her a role in our movie," he joked. "Just imagine working with a real ghost.... hahahaha.... now that would be exciting, isn't it?"
Pei Xingcheng: "........."
"No, why would I want to do that? Are you crazy? Who in their right mind would want to work with a real ghost? I am not crazy!" he exclaimed while glaring at his agent for suggesting such a horrible idea.
Tang Qin was taken aback by the actor's strong reaction. He couldn't believe how vividly Pei Xingcheng had responded. At the same time, he noticed the paleness on his face and couldn't help but ask, "Xingcheng, are you okay? Your face looks so pale. Don't tell me, are you scared of ghosts?"
Pei Xingcheng answered immediately, "No."
As a famous actor who was always concerned about his appearance, he couldn't possibly admit to being scared of ghosts. As a man who loved his face and image, he would never admit that he was afraid of ghosts.
Pei Xingcheng's voice quivered as he tried to sound brave. "I-I'm not scared of ghosts," he said, but his nervousness was evident in the way his tongue stuttered and his eyes darted around the room.
Tang Qin stifled a laugh, amazed that the esteemed actor had managed to conceal his fear of ghosts for so long. It was no wonder the actor had never acted in any horror film or drama.
However, to put him at ease, he apologized. "Okay, okay, I'm sorry. You're not scared of ghosts. My bad. Let's go to your room now."
Pei Xingcheng nodded stiffly, eager to leave the haunted hallway behind. As they walked towards the bedroom, Tang Qin couldn't help but smile at the actor's fear. Once they came across his room, Pei Xingcheng let Tang Qin enter first before stepping in himself.
The bedroom was a stark contrast to the hallway, with its warm and inviting decor. Pei Xingcheng breathed a sigh of relief, grateful that at least his room looked normal compared to everything he had seen after entering this haunted mansion.
"Xingcheng, I'm placing the script here," Tang Qin said as he walked over to the nightstand and placed the folder on it.
Pei Xingcheng, who was sitting on the bed, nodded in response.
"That is the washroom," he pointed to the door next to the bed. "You can freshen up, take some rest, and learn your lines. I'll see you in the evening."
"Wait, where are you going?" Pei Xingcheng asked as he saw his agent leaving.
"To my room," Tang Qin replied with a smile.
Pei Xingcheng's eyes widened, and he quickly grabbed Tang Qin's arm to stop him. "W-what? Y-your room? Are you not going to stay here with me?"
Tang Qin chuckled, "Of course not, Xingcheng. I have my own room."
Pei Xingcheng: "........."
Why???? Why??? Why is this happening to him???
Is he really going to spend his time alone in this haunted mansion's bedroom? Why the hell did he sign this movie in the first place? Can he still back out?
