Chereads / LUCKY AND HERO: God of System / Chapter 25 - Strange?

Chapter 25 - Strange?

Sho immediately fell asleep after Alpha went out.

He could still feel the pain all over his body and the calling of sleep was just too strong for him to fight. Knowing everything was now fine, he descended into the lure of sleep.

However, after a while, he was woken up by a nagging feeling of discomfort. After taking some time to nap, his groggy mind started to slowly work. There was a persistent notion that he was forgetting something important.

*Task… Alpha's task… Alpha's task!* His mind finally fully awakened. He opened his eyes and looked at his status window that became the clock now that any mechanism stopped working. He released a sigh when he saw it had been only an hour. However, he was amazed by the fact that only an hour had passed by yet he was pronouncedly getting better.

His excruciating muscles were greatly elevated, they were reduced to just aching. In the meantime, he knew he could finally speak freely, unlike earlier, he was strong enough to use his voice.

Compared with using medicine and technology, his self-regeneration was unnatural.

Sho was shocked as he saw the increase in percentage of his skills. The proficiency of Overview, Hobbies and Rejuvenation increased! Even if it's only 0.1% that was a clear increase in juxtaposition with how his skill showed from 0% to 0.00%.

He finally saw the number increase! Making him experience a sense of achievement.

*Rejuvenation should be the one that helped me while I was unconscious. It's good that although the effect seems negligible than I imagined, it is still gratifying knowing it did its work as a Passive Skill. It appears to be the same case for Hobbies. Though I didn't see any type of hobbies in my mind, did it perhaps trigger passively in other ways? The only thing I could think of is when I stood up to go against Fenrir. Does that mean going against stronger enemies triggers it passively?*

*Is it because I showed unwavering will? He jokingly added. Not really taking the thought seriously.*

*Well, I don't know. But more importantly, my Overview skill actually went up as high as my Rejuvenation skill!*

For him, that was a great achievement since he had been trying out a lot of ways to increase the EXP of his Overview skill. But no matter what, it stayed at 0.00%. Now, however, it went up! The sense of achievement welled him with pride.

*Maybe the skill went up since I forcefully used it even when I can't? Or maybe it was because of the images I saw instead of just words giving me clues?*

For now, he put that at the back of his mind as he had more important things to take care of.

Alpha's task.

Alpha wanted Sho and Miya to be able to walk in just six hours. It felt impossible even when he could feel his Rejuvenation skill doing its healing. Sho still could not stand up even if he was given twelve hours.

He frowned.

*It might be impossible for me, but how about Miya?*

He was curious so he sneakily glanced towards Miya. She was lying beside him and maintained a supine lying position. Her face was looking at the ceiling while her eyes were closed. Her breathing was even, as if she was sleeping.

Sho was given another surprise while observing Miya. She was actually getting better by the second! It felt like it wouldn't be impossible for her to achieve the task Alpha gave them!

*Even if it's only been an hour, the task given seems impossible in my opinion. But if Alpha is giving it to us, it means it is possible. In addition, since Miya is already almost successful, it means it really is possible! Earlier, before Alpha went out, he said he was good at self-healing. He also said that there's improvement in our self-healing ability after the System… Was it also a clue? Can everyone self-heal now? But that would be weird. Human structure doesn't have any fast self-healing…*

He was confused. But then he decided it was better to do something. If Miya was able to achieve something so incredible, doesn't that mean it was available to other people? Even if she was a genius, her mind should have known something and made the self-healing possible! Geniuses are good at paving the way for ordinary humans. It also meant they were giving options to greatness that others wouldn't think.

Humans could gain inspiration from those geniuses and strive to be better.

With that resolution, he closed his eyes and tried to get a feel of his body.

His calf was the one with the deadliest wound. The rest were not classified as heavy damage. A sudden realization hit him while getting a feel of his body. He knew exactly how many wounds he had!

319 wounds.

Some are minor scratches, while others were deep enough to let him bleed a lot.

They were the wounds he unintentionally collected while they were escaping and fighting the wolf pack, and there were also those wounds that he got from fighting the wolf king. Fenrir's tail attack wasn't something to scorn off. Even just brushing with his furs, Sho was able to accumulate cuts.

But all of those wounds were closed already, the one left was the wound in his calf. It was the wound he got because of the domino effect tumbling over their defense. It was especially the deepest wound because he got careless and wasn't able to defend at all.

Perceiving himself, he knew he didn't even have any spare energy to stand up regardless of most of his wounds healing. Nevertheless, the realization that he could scan his body like he had gone through an X-ray amazed him.

*It was something everyone could take for granted. Why should anyone scan their body when there are more high tech facilities that could do the job? People got lazy and stopped doing things manually… however, with the change of the world, with the loss of technology. Everyone should be back to where we were. Since we can't use our precious technology, we don't have a choice but to do things like those of ancient times. But still, there's something strange here. Did I evolve or mutate?*

He immediately knew that was what Alpha was hinting. With the merging of new worlds, it seems their bodies evolved or mutated in some way. He knew there was no way in hell it was possible for anyone to count every wound and scar they received.

Even if they go back to the past where technology was null, counting accurately how many wounds you have would be considered a great achievement!

What he just did exceeds human capacity. It distorts the logic he knew. However, it didn't affect him enough to feel his world crumbling. He was not someone who was from this world. Logic was really inapplicable to him.

While concentrating on his body's structure, he came to another understanding. He got control over every piece of cell he had. He tried to command his cells to do the work of healing faster, he could but it didn't come easy. Although he knew he had command over them, they listened at first but stopped before achieving anything. He knew right away the reason. He was lacking energy to command them.

*Energy… is it the Energy that Alpha has? But I don't have it. How can I give them energy if I don't have it?* He mulled over for more than an hour while testing various things.

He failed a lot with his random experiments regardless he didn't give up.

Knowing Alpha made it possible means he could also make it possible. What's more, Miya also was on her way to achieving it!

*The original Sho watched countless anime. I've tried almost all of them. What else should I try?*

He had been racking his brains out. He was thankful for having a smart brain that belonged to the original Sho. But it seems he couldn't find a clue. He wanted to use his skill, but he knew he was too wounded to cast it at all.

It would be a waste of time if he casted his skill. There was a strong probability of him losing consciousness because he was not fit enough for his skill.

*Heal, heal, heal, heal!*

He kept repeating in his mind. Yet he knew there was more to it than wishing for it to happen.

*Come on! What kind of energy do you want? I've tried to gather the energy that anime characters do, but nothing happened! Do I need to eat something?*

As his random thoughts scramble, he decided to focus his thoughts on his stomach. He knew that there should still be medicine there.

Because of scanning himself, he discovered that there was a strange liquid inside his body. When he inspected it closely, it became clear that it was residual medicine that he took from earlier.

It was the medicine that helped stop his bleeding when they entered the underground passageway.

Deafening silence occupied his ears. It encouraged Sho to be intent on what he wanted to do.

All his focus was in his stomach, trying to find the medicine there. He didn't really know if it would work, but he had to try anything that came to his mind.

*I've been indulging random thoughts and proceeding with experiments. Would it work or not? I don't care. I just need to try to know!*

Then, he was delighted when he felt the energy in his stomach. It was different from his own energy that he used to initially control his cell. There was a foreign clump of energy inside him. And he knew it was the medicine he was looking for.

He was astonished to realize how the medicine worked. The potion that stopped the bleeding was actually doing complicated work! The potion slowly gave out some of its part to travel all over his body together with his blood, after finding out some wounds, it would send a signal to the platelets so that the platelets wound knew where the wounds that needed fixing were at. In addition, the medicine also gives out energy to the platelets making sure the platelets would work faster than normal!

He was amazed at the knowledge and also thankful for Sho's wide variety of information. It was a complicated comprehension that he would be ignorant if not for the original Sho.

The medicine did a slow work because it was just there sitting in his stomach, waiting to be carried by his cells and be processed. It seemed like before it could do its magical work, it needed to be recognized as one with his own cells, or else, it would be viewed as an enemy and be attacked. If that happened, then the medicine would be a poison slowly eating him instead. That's why the medicine does it work slowly.

But he didn't have time to just wait until he absorbed everything and healed. If he did that, it would take more than six hours.

Passed the deadline.

So, he willed his mind towards the energy on his stomach. He willed his cells to get to that energy and recognize it as his own. And soon, he felt something move inside him. It wasn't his cell. But it was something weird.

*Is this the Energy Alpha has? But why do I feel it didn't suit this feeling? Qi? Is this what people call Qi?* He wasn't sure. He wasn't well-versed in that topic. He just felt that the Energy Alpha used and the energy he was feeling was different altogether. The thought of Qi was so random but it fit perfectly.

He felt the energy slowly merge inside him. It was traveling inside him, it wasn't his veins, but it still felt like it was his energy veins. It was so strange he couldn't put a word to describe it, but at the same time, he felt it was just right.

He guided the energy to pass through every part of his body. Some point was like a waygate, everytime the energy passed through it, it would cut a small chunk of energy and stay there. It was like paying a toll. And then, the energy moved. Countless waypoints of his body were given the energy of medicine.

And soon, something amazing happened.

When the last energy reached the last waypoint, he felt slowly getting energized. It was like reaching a hot spring after a tiresome hike. He felt refreshed. All his sore muscles loosened and revitalized. Soon, Sho was more amazed when he felt his wounds close. Even the worst wound he had was doing an amazing job. In just twenty minutes, the terrible wound was closed and healed.

It felt like he didn't even get damaged at all.

Finally, he opened his eyes. He slowly got up and was given a shock on how healed he was. It was the feeling of not even being hurt at all.

*Is this the mutation of the new world we now live in?*8
