Chapter 17 - The Righteous and The Fallen

Asahi and Matteo began to slowly circle around each other, both of them carefully perusing their every move, anticipating any form of attack."You might not know this, but I'm very glad to face you- Noriosuke.", Matteo said whiles smiling with confidence. "And why's that?" "My goal.....You are the key to achieving it- Perfection." "Perfection, huh? Why chase it? What's your desire?" "Well- isn't it obvious? The methods of humans are flawed-- Their souls are clouded by their own sins- Their own darkness has devoured their light. Their actions are led by greed and evil and these actions yield only destructive consequences. Just think-- of what it would be like, how life would be, if one was transcendent, without flaws and had expelled all the evils from within himself. What it would mean to be 'PERFECT.' It's fascinating, isn't it? The only being that I can compare to this--is-....."

A violent gust of wind blew, followed by a bright burst of golden light. The wind was so strong it swept a few people of their feet and sent them flying. The light was blinding, with a golden brilliance. Everyone was left in awe, but the Horsemen stood there, their eyes searching in the light to see their captain. Leo noticed Asahi first, standing within the light looking unfazed. The violent wind was blowing his hair recklessly. Whiles everyone covered their eyes from the golden light, Asahi stared intently at the source, Matteo. Matteo walked out of the light, emanating a golden aura all around him. It looked like a bright golden flame burning around him, But that wasn't what Asahi's eyes were centered on. Behind Matteo, two large wings had sprouted out of his back, ripping through the cloak he was wearing. The wings were large, almost spanning out to nine feet. Matteo had in his hand, a large golden feather from his wings."I hope I can achieve perfection with you right here, Asahi! Show me-- everthing you have." With this, he lunged forward and covered the distance between them in an instant. Leo looked in horror as the next moment flashed before his eyes. "Wh--what.....the hell?" Leo chocked on his own words, and turned to the other horsemen, looking at their faces, strained in anger. Matteo had slashed Asahi's arm off with a swift swing of his feather-blade. Asahi staggered a bit, as blood was oozed from his injury. Even with this injury, he was still unfazed. He walked slowly away from Matteo, grabbed his arm that lay pale on the ground, and fixed it back on with his other arm. It connected, perfectly fixed in that instant. He moved it around a bit before turning back to Matteo. "Let's try that again- Mr. Emperor. " Matteo walked to him with the blade once more, performing the same swift blade attack from before, but this time, Asahi evaded it in the blink of an eye, and kicked Matteo in his gut, sending him flying back. "OH--That was unexpected!!! This will be even more fun that I had thought!!", Matteo walking back to Asahi, and he was coming straight at him as well.

Just then, Leo turned to the Horsemen and they nodded simultaneously at him. Leo smiled looking at Asahi and Matteo walking towards each other. "Matteo.....I had fought you countless times. God knows how many times I've done that. You could have killed me, but you were so pitied and disgusted by me, that even death was far to valuable to give me. Day in and out, I've dreamed of defeating you and leaving this place, but I couldn't do it on my own. But Right now, That cycle, that fate that was carved upon me-- It's going to change!!! Pierson, Kenji, Gail.....and you, Asahi--! Our future is about to begin together. LET'S RIDE, HORSEMEN!!"
