Lilian's husband held onto her and hugged her tightly, knowing that she was hurting because her best friend had died and they didn't know what to do.
The woman then raised off of her husband and wiped her tears, then looked at Myalis and smiled.
"Sweetheart, you can stay with us for as long as you want, you don't have to tell us what your mother said to you if she even said anything, but we love you as well, we will keep our promise to your mother and give you the help that you need, a fresh start, you don't know what your goal is that's fine but everyone has a purpose," She said and Myalis smiled at her.
"Thank you for assisting me, both of you; I really appreciate it, I have a goal in mind but I need to get stronger to protect myself and those I care about while also finding that purpose that I may have, something greater; tell me, did you see a fox when you came to my rescue that morning?" Myalis inquired.
"A fox? No, I didn't see any animals around," She replied and Myalis smiled.
"Kid, your mother left you a bag; look inside; your life will never be the same after the decision you made; are you sure you want to go down this path where your own family will not know you are alive?" As the man asked, Myalis took a deep breath and sighed, his eyes narrowing as he looked at her.
"Yes, I do," She responded, and he smiled at both her and Lilian.
"This was a monk's temple; we're just outside the city, Nisnaral; do you want me to train you Myalis, to help you grow stronger?" He inquired, and she turned to face him as he approached her, then she looked at the others who were training alongside them.
She noticed that some of them were police officers who were using the elements, while others were ordinary people who had just discovered their abilities.
"There are a few students who only use the air element and others who use water, but the majority are affiliated with the elements; we will help you, we will keep the promise we made to your mother, we can protect ourselves as well, you don't have to worry about that, Myalis, you are still a kid, it's not a bad thing to let others help you," Lilian said.
She didn't want to endanger them, but she knew she needed to get stronger, and Lilian's husband was one of the best martial artists around and she knew that she could trust them, at least at the time.
"Alright, I'll let you help, I need to get stronger, and then I'll go out on my own; please train me," Myalis said, bowed her head, and he smiled at her.
"Good, then you're my student from now on; we'll help you get where you want to go; it's the least we can do; your mother helped us a lot in the past, and since she's the one who probably forced you to leave, we'll be responsible for you; your mother made enemies of dangerous people, just so you know." He replied and a frown appeared on her face, and she looked at her reflection in the tiles on the ground.
At that moment, her eyes shook when she couldn't even recognize herself, she realized her entire appearance had changed.
From the moment Myalis had made the decision to leave her family behind, everything in her life changed and she knew she had to as well.
Lilian said, "The cocoon changed you in many different ways. You are not going to be the same, not ever again." Myalis sighed.
"How long did I spend in the cocoon after you found me, guys?" Myalis asked.
"When Lilian discovered you, the cocoon had only recently begun to form around you, so something happened to you for a few weeks that totally altered who you were before. The cocoon completely changed you; it was as if you had died and then come back to life as a different version of yourself," Carlis responded and Myalis clenched her fists as her lips began to tremble.
"I will build myself a new life with a new name," She mumbled as she looked up at the sky and her eyes glowed bright purple and a red flower marking appeared within them, Calris gasped and his wife glanced at him as his eyes shook after feeling how strong her presence had become.
"What's the matter?" She asked and he lowered his head, then tapped Myalis on her shoulder and she glanced at him.
"I want to ask now, are you tamer? If so, what kind?" He asked and she sighed.
"A beast tamer, that's the talent I got but something else happened due to which my mother kept me from telling the others about my abilities, they don't know," She responded.
"Of course, you are one of those; I'm not sure why your mother kept that part of you hidden from your family; she has her reasons for everything, but the cocoon transformed you into much more than that; I believe we will find out how much you have changed during our training together, do you truly accept me as your master?" He asked, and she looked at him, then smiled and nodded, and he walked away, holding a crystal stone that glowed different colors in his hand and a worried expression appeared on his face.
"Look at what your mother gave you in the bag, I am pretty sure it has important things, maybe it will be able to help you during your training, when you are finished, have something to eat come and join me, we will start your training right away, you have less than a few weeks until the academy opens if that's where you want to go to learn as well, do you want to go?" He asked as he glanced at her and she nodded then he scoffed before walking away.
