Sarah and Alice were sitting outside on the swings talking about different topics until they started talking about Alice's new house.
"Listen, what could be so wrong? You're probably just not used to it yet. You just moved in! Give it some time!" Sarah said. Alice groaned in annoyance. "You don't get it! There is something off with that house. I just get a bad vibe from it. Can't I stay at your house for the night?" Alice said with puppy dog eyes. Sarah ignored her pleading and instead came up with something. "Why don't we sleep over at your house? We can have a sleepover at your place as your first time sleeping there and the next morning you will feel much better about the place!"
Alice didn't like that idea at all. But that would be better than sleeping alone in a room that creeped her out. So without any more thought, she agreed. "Fine.."
. . .
As they were in Alice's kitchen making hot chocolate, they laughed and made jokes until it was time to go to bed. "Alice it's time to go to bed, tell your friend to get ready and you too!" Alice answered "Okay!" And then went to get ready with Sarah. After they got ready they got a mattress for Sarah and put it next to Alice's bed. As they lay down and talked for a bit, Alice brought up the fact that she was still scared of the place. "I don't know how I feel about this.. why couldn't we just sleep at your place?"
Sarah sighed. "I think this is a great way for you to get used to sleeping here, and this will be fun!"
Alice sighed. "Alright.. anyways we should sleep now, it's getting late.. good night."
"Good night!"
. . .
After they fell, the clock hit midnight. Sarah woke up and then looked around. Something was wrong. It just didn't look right. The nightlight was off. Alice had gotten a nightlight since she lived in the basement with no window, and without the nightlight, the room would be pitch black. But somehow she could see clearly in the dark. She stood up and tried waking Alice up. After a few pushes from side to side, she finally woke up. "W-what are you doing? What time is it?" She asked with a sleepy voice. She was obviously tired. But Sarah didn't care. She had to tell her about this. Something was clearly wrong and Sarah had to tell her. "Alice, seriously. Get up! Something is wrong!"
Alice put her blanket over her head and groaned. "Sarah!! Leave me alone! You probably just had a bad dream."
Sarah continued shaking her. "No! Seriously! Get up, you need to see this!" Sarah continued screaming at her and Alice started getting annoyed at her, then she got up from her bed and before she was fully awake she also noticed the same thing as Sarah. Something was clearly wrong. She looked at her nightlight and noticed how it was off. But the weird thing was that she could still see everything in her room but there was no light at all, no candle, no lamp, no nothing. She got out of her bed to look around, while Sarah was a bit weirded out.
"What the-" Alice looked so confused.
"I know! There is something wrong!" Sarah said.
"Of course, there is something wrong-"
Suddenly their eyes landed on something in the corner. It was a figure. A pitch-black figure with the scariest red smile. It had no eyes but it looked like it was staring right at them.
"What the heck is that!?" Alice screamed in fear.
