Chapter 67 - Autistic Outburst

The autism that had been suppressed inside suddenly burst out, even more terrifying than usual.

Amelia was already disoriented, the only thing she could feel was fear, endless fear.

...

"What? Solitary confinement..." Tyler's tone was so cold that it could have frozen into ice crystals.

"Yes, it was punishment for smuggling drugs, but if it wasn't for her drugs saving me, no one would have known. It's all my fault. I want you to help me see if she's okay." Logan Hunter said to Tyler somewhat uncomfortably.

After returning to the base, he found out who the man was who had walked with Amelia all the way, the legendary General Tyler. He was almost the idol of all their students.

And this idol was Amelia's boyfriend, so Logan Hunter had inquired around and found a chance to sneak over.

He wanted to say more, but the tall figure in front of him had already left with intense anger.

Tyler was rarely so flustered. He ran as fast as he could, his violent aura making him look terrifying.

He didn't have time to think about whether running out like this would be noticed by someone with ill intent. He only knew that he had to hurry because Amelia needed him at this moment.

Soon he arrived at the confinement room. There was no one guarding the door, but it was locked.

"Amelia!" Tyler cautiously called out.

Hearing no sound from the room, Tyler didn't have time to think too much. He kicked the door open with a loud bang.

He saw the little figure crouched in the corner, scared and curled up. Obviously, Amelia's autism had already erupted, and her consciousness was blurred, only instinctively fearing and avoiding.

Tyler took a few deep breaths and slowly walked in, trying to lower his voice as much as possible. "Amelia, don't be afraid, it's okay."

But Amelia in the corner didn't respond, she couldn't recognize Tyler, her eyes were dull with fear, and she kept murmuring, "Amelia is good, don't lock Amelia up, Amelia is obedient!"

Hearing Amelia's terrified words, Tyler felt heartbroken. He only hated himself for not discovering it earlier. He crouched down, his voice becoming even softer. He didn't dare to get too close to Amelia.

"Amelia, don't be afraid. Nobody dares to imprison you. It's me, Tyler. I'm late." Upon hearing Tyler's name, Amelia visibly relaxed, slowly raising her head. Although she still looked panicked and her eyes seemed unfocused, she didn't try to hide behind him in fear anymore.

"Come here, to me. Everything's okay now!" Tyler reached out his hands to Amelia.

Seeing this familiar face, a glimmer of hope appeared in Amelia's eyes. She grabbed Tyler's hand and frantically explained, "Tyler, I'm obedient, please don't let them lock me up."

Amelia kept explaining, as if she was a scared child trying to prove that she was well-behaved.

Tyler felt heartbroken. Amelia was proud and aloof, but her autism made her frightened and terrified. He carefully held her in his arms, and she grabbed onto his collar tightly as if holding onto something that could make her less afraid.

Despite being unaware of her surroundings, Amelia didn't resist because Tyler's familiar and comforting presence put her at ease.

Tyler took her to his place and immediately ordered someone to deal with the confinement room. He held Amelia patiently and whispered to her for a long time, and eventually, she became less nervous.

Tyler filled the bathtub with warm water, not because he thought Amelia was dirty, but because he had found out over the years that it was the best way to ease her autism outbursts.

The warm water made Amelia's tense body slowly relax. After a long time, her confused eyes gradually regained clarity.

"Amelia, are you okay?" Tyler stayed close, guarding her carefully.

"...Tyler, can you hug me?" Amelia looked like a pitiful, wet puppy, her eyes full of water droplets, and she seemed a bit weak and restless, seeking her master's embrace.

Tyler immediately reached out and scooped Amelia out of the water, holding her tightly in his arms. At this moment, he could only think of this little girl and nothing else, not caring if he was crossing a line that would anger her.

Over the years, Amelia had become so dependent on him during her autism episodes, but once she regained consciousness, she would kick and hit him like a maniac.

"Be good, everything is okay now. Don't be afraid, it's all my fault." Tyler kept comforting Amelia, patting her gently.

"As long as you're here, I'm not scared anymore," Amelia said earnestly.

She had regained her consciousness, and at this moment, seeing Tyler, she felt an indescribable sense of comfort.

Tyler felt extremely heartbroken by Amelia's soft and clingy dependence. He secretly cursed himself for not noticing earlier. If Amelia were to be locked in the dark room all night like this, he couldn't imagine how scared she would be.

"Achoo!" Amelia sneezed.

Tyler saw that Amelia had calmed down, but they were still wet and clinging to each other. He suddenly realized he was being careless; Amelia's health was fragile, and she couldn't catch a cold.

"You're uncomfortable in wet clothes. Don't catch a cold. Be a good girl and go wash and change your clothes." Tyler comforted her by patting her back and letting go of Amelia.

As Tyler was about to leave the bathroom, Amelia grabbed his hand in a panic.

"Don't leave...," she said.

"Don't worry, I won't go. I'll turn around and wait for you here," Tyler said. He didn't want to leave Amelia alone, so he turned around and faced the other way.

Amelia watched Tyler's broad back and suddenly realized what she had done. She wanted to take a shower, but she wouldn't let Tyler leave! She felt so embarrassed that her breathing became shallow.

Even though Tyler's back was turned to her, Amelia inexplicably felt nervous. Her hands were shaking as she undid her clothes. She felt that the fear from earlier had exhausted her too much, causing her to tremble.

As she stepped into the bathtub and the rushing water echoed in the quiet bathroom, Amelia blushed and looked away from Tyler. He stood like a soldier at the entrance of Forest Peak.

Amelia quickly washed herself, but when she looked around the bathroom, she realized that she didn't have any dry clothes to wear. Tyler was always considerate, but this time he must have been in a rush, and he had forgotten to prepare her clothes.

"Tyler..."

"What's wrong? Are you scared? I'm here!" Tyler immediately replied.

"It's not that... I don't have any dry clothes to wear."

Amelia's face was flushed with steam, like a ripe apple on a tree. She realized that it wasn't just exhaustion that made her hands shake earlier; it was shyness.

"Wait here, I'll go get some clothes for you," Tyler said, and quickly left the room.
